From the setanta site:

Today's show is a middleweight special and we will speak to, amongst others, British legends Michael Watson and Alan Minter.

Watson took part in epic battles with Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank in the early 1990s before winning his biggest fight to recover from a brain haemorrage.

Minter was the undisputed middleweight champion in 1980 before being unfortunate enough to run into the great Marvin Hagler.

On the current world scene, Top Rank will let us know the situation concerning Kelly Pavlik and whether a fight with Arthur Abraham is on the horizon. We will also speak to Abraham's promoter Kalle Sauerland.

We will also hear from new British middleweight champion Matt Macklin after his dramatic victory over Wayne Elcock and Irish contender Andy Lee.

We will also discuss what is next for Amir Khan, hearing his thoughts on Saturday's victory over Marco Antonio Barrera as well as his promoter Frank ****** and the manager of one of the WBA lightweight champions, Paulus Moses.

Finally, Enzo Maccarinelli will speak to the show about his plans after his knockout defeat to Ola Afolabi.

No Bernard Dunne ?, first Irish World title challenger in nearly 4 years and if he wins he'll be the first Irish champion in nearly 12.

You = Legend :good

Only a few minutes in but why o why would a great boxing show like this source the boxrec rankings!! :patsch You must know the rankings are garbarge Buncey.

Amir Khan isn't even No.1 on Boxrec :-(

GazOC
03-19-2009, 07:14 PM
Yep, the use of Boxrec was a bit puzzling. They can be quite bizzare....they use them kompooters to compile them.

kosaros
03-19-2009, 07:21 PM
Yeah boxrec ain't great with that points system...but the lightweights seem to be in a decent order, so can't complain with the list put on the bunce hour.

Better than taking it off the WBA,WBC,IFB and WBO web sites especially the WBO

Generally I'd take the Rings over Boxrec 99% of the time.

Hey Buncey, great show and I really enjoyed as always. Just one little niggle, please don't refer to Khan as 'stopping" Barrera. As you know, Barrera was cut by a clash of heads and could have had the fight declared as a no contest in the first round. However he bravely decides to battle on despite only being able to see out of one eye. Lets give him the respect he deserves by referring to the outcome accurately.

Fantastic to see Michael Watson on the show btw, a true inspiration to one and all.

Fantastic show this week, absolutely top draw. In my opinion there is nothing this good for any sport, so we are lucky to have it.

Michael Watson in brilliant form, as were the scouse lads. I didn't know Bunce wrote the Watson book until yesterday. If it is re-published I'd buy it.

I'm not taking the piss here Bunce (or anyone else) but this Driclor stuff is the mutts nuts for banishing armpit sweat and you only have to use every couple of months. I went from a sweaty bastard to bone dry almost straight away. Its great. You can get it from Boots

Boxrec is great for fighters records but their rankings can be pretty awful, they work on a strict points system that doesn't always tally with whats happening in the real world.
