Anyone seen 'Two Fists One Heart Yet?'
Looking forward to seeing this film - even the media reviews are good.
Was actually going to see it on my birthday but was instead dragged by the missus to see a bloody chick flick instead!
Anyone seen it yet? What's the mail? Any good?

The first review I read wasn't overly flattering. But subsequent reviews have been a lot more positive.
Most of my all-time favourite movies didn't receive any critical acclaim whatsoever.

Agreed, even though it didn't win any oscars or get good reviews, Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo is one of the finest movies ever made. I mean check out the plot from imdb.
'A developer tries to bulldoze a community recreation center. The local breakdancers try to stop it.'
It has everything, a greedy developer, the local kids rallying against big business, romance, explosions (probably) and breakdancing. They don't make films like this nowadays.

Part III was set in outback Australia and trumps any other part of the franchise by a long, long way.

Stiflers Mum: I was referring to Howling III (you knew) but now that you mention it, Breakin 3: Outback Boogalooabong could have been the greatest movie ever made.

There's another Aussie boxing movie about to be released called 'The Combination'.
Apparently it's set in the western suburbs of Sydney, and is about a guy who does some time and afterwards aims to keep out of trouble, and there's some boxing rolled in there as well.

Found some speel on 'The Combination' :
Movie - The Combination
Fron the www - by Mile Klindo
(2 April 2009)
The Combination is a recently released low budget production about immigrant youth in Sydney's working class western suburbs. The movie is the directorial debut of actor David Fields (Two Hands, Chopper, Blackjack, Unfinished Sky) and based on the personal experiences of actor George Basha, a first-time scriptwriter. Basha plays the central character John Morkos, a 30-something Lebanese Australian just released from jail.
John is determined to rebuild his life, assist his widowed mother, and provide a moral compass for his teenage brother Charlie (Firass Dirani). He secures work at a local boxing gym and falls in love with Sydney (Claire Bowen), an Anglo-Australian girl. Their developing relationship is frowned upon by her racist parents.
John gradually discovers that Charlie is being drawn into drug-trafficking and gang violence and warns him that he will end up in jail or worse. Charlie ignores John's advice and together with Zeus (Ali Haidar), one of his closest school friends, begins working for a local crime boss. Charlie claims that the money and guns will win him respect from anti-immigrant racists at his school and elsewhere. The result is bloody and tragic and threatens to destroy the entire Morkos family.
Fields and Basha have attempted to make The Combination as authentic as possible. Most of the actors are non-professionals and were encouraged to flesh out their characters with improvised dialogue. Set in 2005, it also includes brief documentary footage from the Cronulla riots—the violent rampage unleashed against Middle Eastern immigrants by Australian nationalist thugs at the Sydney beachside suburb on December 11, 2005.

This was shown a few weeks ago and sparked some blues outside the cinema after it was shown. From what I've heard it deserves better than the negative press the fighting got it.

Grabbed a movie from the video shop last night called 'Sonny Liston - The Phantom Punch'. It was new and still in the overnight loan section.
The fight scenes ranged from poor to pathetic and some of the acting was 'B' grade at best, but the strange thing was it was very watchable. Told Liston's story warts and all, from many times jailbird to his suspicious death at only 38 years of age.

I think you find it would be missing the essential gratiuitous nudity to really set it apart from the pack

You should know by now CHB that its Aus forum policy to go off topic as soon as possible and pay no heed to the original topic. If you want a review of the film I suggest you start a new thread about antique hatstands or something similar and a review should be done within 5 or 10 posts.

Had been keen to see this film and it seems they've already pulled it from the cinemas! Wonder if it'll do the drive-in circuit??
Can't have done too flash at the box-office, and nobody here appears to have seen it, and you'd think we're the target demorgraphic.
