Vyacheslav Glazkov signed a contract with K2 promotions to go pro.

Glazkov won silver in the world amatuer champions, and bronze in the Olympic games. With a better draw opposite of Cammarelle, Glazkov likely wins silver.

I view Glazkov as a very good, but perhaps not great talent.

Here is a link on some of his most notable amatuer fights:

This is exciting news! He is a very very good boxer. Usyk is someone I would be more excited about however.

Usky would be nice, but boxing needs Cammarelle to go pro. IMO, Cammarelle could be the #1 guy 5 years from now. Having said that Usky two would up the talent level of young prospects in the heavyweight divison.

I do think Tyson Fury has bright future if he can stay focused.

David Price will soon turn pro, too.
Cristian Ciocan will soon return, too.(he suffered an injury in his pro debut)

Glatzkov turns pro with the Klitschko brothers.Very good news indeed!!!!!

I very much hope that Lomachenko will soon turn pro with the Klitschko brothers, too.

Not only does Lomachenko play in a different weight division but in terms of skills-compared with Glatzkov- in another dimension as well.
Damn!

Yeahh man, Camarelle and Timurziev are the guys I would love to see at the pro game.

I still hope it happens and it wouldn't need more than 10 fights against decent opponents to get them ranked top 10 at the ABCs and close to a title shot. Just see Solis, for an example.

Price will make his debut this Saturday.

I remember Glazkov from the Olympic. Very good fighter with good skills but not the tallest of HW's if I remember correctly. Stylewise he looked as if he would adapt well to the pros. Best of luck to him :good.

I hope Cammarelle changes his mind and goes pro soon.

I don't believe at Glazkov's prospects even at Euro level.
I am concerned with his obvious lack of stamina and his failure to keep focus for the whole period of fight (and as of now he fought no more than 4 rounds at amateur level).

Stamina can be improved,loko!

Well, I cant really see him capture a world title either.

Lets hope that Camarelle will turn pro as well within the next couple of months!!

All amateur's fight the same distance before they are pro's.

Looks like K2 is preparing for the future and building a nice stable of fighters but the Klitschko's are smart and I think will serve the game well

Put this guy in with Tyson Fury, and we got a match to talk about!

To be honest, I'm not sold on Camarelle as a pro. When I first saw him in the Euros in Perm, to now when he is world and olympic champion, I didn't really see much of an improvement. His rise to the top is more due to the fact that the level of talent at heavyweight has gone down. Back then Cuba had Solis and Carrion at superheavy, Russia had Povetkin, who was in a fiercly competitive national show down with Alexei Lezin, etc.

Also, Camarelle seems to back up a bit, and can be hurt. He uses the amateur points system brilliantly, and I have huge respect to him for realizing his dream, but his bout against Timurziev demonstrates his problems against hard punchers - something he will see a lot more of in the pro ranks.

I still deeply regret that Timurziev is not turning pro. He would have been very interesting, given his power.

I want the Olympic gold medal winner at heavy Chakhkeiv to go pro. This man's a real brawler type. Does K2 sign Russians, or just Ukraine based fighters?

They sign Russian nationals (Baysangurov) and Belarussians (Alexander Ustinov). I haven't seen Chakhiev appear in amateur competition since the olympics, while Beterbiev, Vodopyanov and Selimov are already actively competing..

Well,Baysangurov is Chechen, and Ustinov does not really stem from Belarus.
Anyway! You are right in saying that the Klitschko brothers also sign up fighters from other parts of the world.
Jonathan Banks is from the USA,an American fighting for two Ukranian brothers.I like this.
Who knows? Within the next 20 years there will be numerous American immigrants illlegally trying to enter Russian soil in order to find a better life there.:D

Well, there is no independent Chechen country so Baysangurov is a Russian national. Ustinov is from Russia, forgot about that, but he represented Belarus for most of his career.

As for your second point, sadly, it's not going to happen.

Russia has received millions of legal as well as illegal immigrants within the last few years.
Moscow is overcrowded with them.Quite a handful of African blacks have even found a new home in Moscow's canalisation.
You never know for sure, avk! There may be the day Americans fly over to Russia to have a better life there.
Admittingly,I cant really imagine this situation right now either!:D
Mahamad Aripgadziev who represented Belarus at the olmypics was able to win a silver medal there.
Nevertheless,he has never won the heart of any true Belarussian fight fan.
There are no big tensions between ethnic Belarussians and ethnic Russians in Belarus, but there are a some nationalists who want to reduce the number of ethnic Russians in Belarus's top positions. They blame Russia and the Russians for the decay of Belarus and belarussian culture.
However, people from Dagesthan or other far away regions of the former soviet union are still considered to be "foreign" by a great section of the Belarussian population.
Especially among the young generation hate has found a new home. The division between certain sections of the population is getting wider and wider.
As you may know a decade ago it was absolutely common to live next door to people from Chechnya,Uzbekistan,Ukraine, and Russia in most of the newly constructed artificial little cities in the countryside.
The homo sovieticus dominated in the bigger cities and the new soviet style towns.Well, nationalism has won ground and new ideas of identity have entered the mind of a lot of young Belarussians.
