Hector camacho jr had a very good beginning to his career, in saying

that did his father ruin it ? For years jr saw his father get by on just

pure athletic ability and poor work ethic. Macho sr underachieved as a

boxer, I was a big fan of his. Seeing just how lazy and unmotivated his

son is begs the question. Was growing up with money,watching his

father party into the night with cocaine parties what did him in or was

he over hyped and we didn't see it. camacho jr had more power than

his father but lacked the heart.

The fight that exposed hector camacho jr was the bout between jesse

james leja, after that match he was never the same.

It seemed like Junior had his head on better early in his career. He looked really good coming up at 140. Jr. sat down on his punches more and had way more ko power. But, he did NOT have the speed and defense his dad had.

What he apparently also didn't have was heart. The Leija match ruined him in a lot of people's eyes. And, ultimately, he turned out simply to not be a top world class fighter.

I also think that he was most effective at 140, but simply couldn't train down to that weight, his body looked like it always heavier than 140 and I just don't think Jr. could hold that weight, solid training or not.

So, he was a good fighter who just never was going to be world champ like his pop, and may have gotten ruined from some of that hype and the fact that he just wasn't on that level.
