I've got a fight coming up on Oct 6th and need to get USA boxing? approved headgear? Anyone have any experience with good brands they want to share?

I use Fight Gear, I like it. I think Everlast makes a good one too. Just make sure it has the USA Boxing approved tag on it.

Thanks Amy. I'll check that out. What do you like about it compared to others you've used?

It's the only one I've ever used so I can't compare it really. I just like the way it fits and the way it feels. I've used it for over two years now for competing and for sparring and it's just starting to get a little worn.

I like Everlast; the only issue with it is the velcro strap; if it's not done correctly, it can get kind of scratchy on your chin. other than that; it's snug and fits well; I like it a lot more than the Title headgear.

I have tried them all, well most of them anyways and must say the Everlast USA Boxing approved ones suited me best

not the newer Velcro ones but he lace up ones, I especially liked the one with the cheek pad it just added a little more protection to the nose and eye areas

I second everlast. I use to use Fightgear as well until my trainer took at look at my headgear before my first fight and said "that headgear is too thin!" then gave me a everlast USA approved headgear.

I googled some training direction and somehow got this one ([Only registered and activated users can see links] _Boxing_Martial_Arts_Wrestling-142231.html]this one) . It seems like it would be a full coverage headgear. But I do not know if it fit you.
