Sometime's i find myself watching the TV, thinking i could have him..?
Jeff Thomas: do you think you could bingo Amir Khan..?
Of late people like James Degale, i think i could bingo.
I used to before I started boxing but now I realise they would brutalise me if they wanted to. When you spar lads who have had more bouts than you but not a great record you realise the talent people like DeGale, Khan etc must have.

I was just talking myself up.
However, I think with a bit of extra training on my part it would be a 50-50 fight.

My brother was convinced he could take Naz if the fight was in his living room, boxing on knees (instead of standing).
He had no chance off course. Naz would never accept the offer to come to his house.

In the shed behind my back garden there was a guy who trained there
and he wa a former pro
apparantly he was no good and had a record something like 1 win and 10 losses or something
and his nickname was "canvas" from always getting knocked down
when I trained over there when I was younger I wacthed a body builder in his 20's come down the gym
"Canvas" want to spar him
the body builder looked the part - rippling muscles etc - but he werent a boxer
after a while this body builder finally sparred with "Canvas"
they sparred either one round or two round
and "Canvas" had him crippled over on the floor with body shots
they called the spar off and the guy had tears welled up in his eyes
I dont think I seen him come to train at the gym again
"Canvas" was a bit of a gym bully to novices who he got in the ring with
he couldnt hack it as a pro but still even a shit pro like him was good enough to beat up quite qucikly a fit muscalur young man who was not a boxer

what does that mean?
I hope you dont mean - small and skinny
Because "Canvas" was a heavyweight
when I make claims - they are real
Canvas is not just some random made up bloke
I know his real name - and he worked for Frank ******s Sport Network as a timekeeper for fights invovling Naseem Hamed, Joe Calzaghe and Enzo Maccarenelli.

I do the odd round at the gym my little brother is training at , now I am not completely without training myself , and even the kids in there can make me look like an idiot.
I did ONE round with the guy who runs the place ( who must be touching 50 ) and it was probably the most excrutiating 3 minutes of my life. Its the little punches on the inside and the pushing and shoving when you're trying to breathe that really got me , I've done a bit of Muay Thai and a fair amount of shotokan karate but its just not the same.
all that said, I'd spark the blackpool securtiy gaurd no problem, lol !

I am telling you guys a trained boxer even a crap one will fucking KO a joe average guy, most guys who box have been in a gym from they where about 5/6 year old, just knowing how to punch properly and where to hit someone is enough. Do boxers not get charged with using a weapon if they get done for assult.

My record whilst working on the doors was like Chavez pre-Randall.... Normal people generally can't fight especially when there pissed. 99% of street fights are over within 10-15 seconds. I gurantee if I hit almost anyone on the chin i'll KO them. Street fighting I found was about getting there first and beating people mentally. I could talk about this for hours but all i'll say is that if you are ever threatened by anyone and you know they are going to attack you... be first. If your first and your fast and accurate enough you win.

I'd be willing to bet that if you were to take any pro or amateur at the same weight against a non-boxer it would be one way traffic. When I was in my prime - about 8-9 years ago I trained 4 nights a week and was really into it having been doing it for 6 years and as a light-heavy/cruiser at 6'4" I could outbox most of the guys in the gym who weren't pro's but as soon as I sparred against a 37 yr old former light-heavy pro wit a distnictly average record he tore me a new arsehole over 3 very long rounds. It's different gravy and even if you think you're Billy Big rocks in the weight room or on the footy pitch a pro boxer would work you over big time
