Gotta look forward to this fight. I like Povetkin over Byrd, I think it will go similar to Povetkin vs. Donald, unless Byrds heart is not in it anymore or he opens up and wants to trade, then I think Povetkin takes him out. Povetkin 14-0 after this fight.
Chambers vs. Brock, if it comes off, is kind of a tough one to pick for me. Could be a close fight, could be a good fight or a terrible one. They both have looked pretty bad on occasion, but both have had their moments. A lot of variables in this one.
I do think that Povetkin will beat either one of them. 15-0.
Maybe Povetkin will take on a tune up fight with a big huge (yet not too difficult) guy to get him ready for Klitschko. 16-0.
Wlad Klitschko vs. Alexander Povetkin, that will be one to keep forever in the dvd collection.

Yeah, I expect Povetkin to destroy Byrd. We shall see. Povetkin certainly is not taking the easy road to a title shot. Hopefully the fight will be broadcast in America , to give Povetkin some US exposure.

I think that Povetkin will be IBF official mandatory. The guy have potencial for this. He will beat Byrd and later Brock or Chambers. For Wladimir Klitschko will be very dificult to fight with one of the best fighter today. Wlad is interesting to make unification with winner of Ibragmiov - Holyfield. Povetkin will wait maybe till 2009 to shot world title. Im sure that Wlad will not fight him next year ?

Povetkin will more than likely have time to get one more fight in before facing Wlad after he wins the tourney.
Against who , my guess is a s good as anyones.
Maybe who knows ?
You guys think Povetkin is some miracle... I do not. He may win Byrd, but only if Byrd is washed up...against Brock he might win since Brock was really no threat to Wlad either... I think Povetkin is going in way too early. What is Sauerland thinking? They should just boost him like Valuev to make him a phenomenon.
Will Sylvester - Rotolo take place in the same card?

I think Povetkin has the potential and in the coming year of course his skills will maturate more and become more confident on himself, i really wish i could see him against wlad one day and expect wlad to taste a lot of Povetkins short left uppercuts that will make wlads life miserable.
Povetkin is very promising and i think he will do very good.

If he wins against i will jump on the hype train. Still im loking forward to seeing him fight some big names, it is always nice to see a great prospect get moved on to the next level.
Doubt we will get any tv coverage in britain though, we are still flogging our dead horses on national tv.

Povetkin should be able to stop Byrd. Byrd's chin nor punch are as good as Donald and he has no speed edge over Sasha.

I was wrong: Dawson is on September 29! Piss on him anyway. I hope the Rumanian crushes him.:yep Perhaps Showtime will show Povetkin after all? I will not hold my breath.
No way, Dawson is the best light heavyweight today.

Hm, i too think that Povetkin will come out on top of that little tourney but i doubt he has a chance against Wlad at this stage of his career. Not experienced enough and Wlad is in his prime right now, still he would be a game opponent.the eliminator fights will prepare him for Wlad. Povetkin will learn and he'll take on Wlad when the time is right and will fell the giant.

Povetkin would be fighting nobodies for the next 3 years.
Luckily, Sauerland got him and are moving him in an exiting way.

I have never seen Povetkin fight, though I have heard alot about
him. Does Povetkin have a good jab? Does he go to the body
to slow down his opponents?

Povetkin vs Byrd is very intriguing. I think Povetkin outboxes Byrd over the distance. I have my doubts about this fight ending early.
I think Brock will beat Chambers.

Povetkin should be able to stop Byrd. Byrd's chin nor punch are as good as Donald and he has no speed edge over Sasha. byrd is the fastest heavywieght of are era and has a decent run of being the fastes heavyiwght top 10 list.
and his chin is good his only losses are to supreme punchers and in that he did get up every time

Will Sylvester - Rotolo take place in the same card?Valuev had absolutely no amateur experience. Povetkin won every tournament imaginable. He has also proven he is capable of beating good opposition. Povetkin is 27 years old...so if he wants to be a force in the division...why wait.
