Boxing followers already know that if Antonio Margarito defeats Paul Williams on July 14, he will meet Miguel Cotto in a welterweight unification bout before the new year, most likely in early December. But what does Cotto do if Margarito loses?

"There are a number of interesting fights if that happens," said Arum, who promotes Cotto and Margarito. The two leading candidates in Arum's mind are titlist Kermit Cintron, who is promoted by Main Events and would need to retain his belt against Walter Matthysse on July 14, and rugged contender Joshua Clottey, who is with Arum.

"I don't mind doing either of those on HBO rather than HBO PPV," Arum said. "But the fight we would like to do is Shane Mosley [on HBO PPV]."

Mosley is a brutally difficult fight to make because of the issues between Top Rank and Golden Boy, although that burden could lighten if the companies settle their differences, which they are working on in mediation.

Margarito, Cintron, Clottey or Mosley?

Just shut up Uncle Bob and get it done. :yep

Arum has seemed very interested in keeping boxing at it's best. Cotto v Clottey would be the shit. Clottey is much faster than Margo and a lot tougher than Zab. If Clottey fought the fight of his life, he could pull the upset.

Arum is a legend when it comes to promoting. He was on Television yesterday, remisnising on the second bout between Ali vs Cooper at the Highbury stadium, England.

Bob has been in the sport for some 40 years or more. While he's no doubt made a nice few quid from the sport, he must really enjoy what he does because not many people stay in a profession for such a long time, especially when you are as old as Bob is!

Arum should be working on JMM/Pac:deal

Well he is . . . and he is doing that openly . . . but the situation is not on his side. :-(

Is Arum trying to play mind games with DLH by not mentioning him as a possible opponent? Because wouldn't that be the biggest payday out there and possible maybe in his eyes Cotto would have a great shot at beating a past his prime DLH kinda like the way Arum used to do it when he himself was promoting DLH by fighting past their prime boxers?

Arum hates DLH more than he loves money and he'd rather chew off his left nad then negotiate that fight. Plus, DLH aint gonna go down in weight and its too early for Cotto to move up.

I love how Arum is willing to put Cotto up in high risk, low reward fights. Cintron, heck even Margo, are not money making fights. But they would be awesome to watch. I love the confidence he has in Cotto. Cotto has taken a ton of tough fights lately. The guy's not getting protected, and I love it.

I think Cotto needs to take some time off and think about if he really wants to be a boxer. Manny pacq should do the same. Arum cant seem to make a fights becuase his fighters lack any real talent.
