predictions from the British forum, how do you see this one going?

Wlad by easy 4th round brutal stoppage.
I'm with Wlad as well I'm afraid.
Hope I'm wrong, but I don't see that performance he put on against Monte Barrett as being good enough. Too reckless and open.

What kind of weight do you guys think Haye will come in at?
Something like what he was for Barrett, or will he bulk up some more?
Given the extended period of time between the two fights, I would think he could do that quite naturally and healthy, instead of putting weight on just for the sake of it.
My pick is Wlad by TKO but I really hope Haye pulls off the upset :good.

I'm going with a late stoppage for Haye. :bbb
I think his speed and power will carry him through.

I voted for Wlad by TKO (think Haye will be stopped on his feet after getting up at least once), but I really want Haye to win and wouldn't be shocked to see Haye KO Wlad.
He's capable of it, but IMO he should have fought at least 2 more fights at HW. If he had done that, against decent opposition, I'd have picked him straight off the bat. At the moment, from what we've seen, I can't use my head to pick Haye.
Here's hoping though!

Anyone think Haye might struggle with the hostile atmosphere, or the weight of expectation? :huh
Is Haye mentally strong? or will he fold under the pressure?

I think he went to a much more hostile atmosphere when he beat Mormeck in France, so that shouldn't be a problem. And German crowds aren't hostile.
Haye is definately the underdog, and him pulling off the upset is less likely than Wlad winning as usual, but I'm backing Haye to KO Wlad mid rounds. The further it goes the better it is for Wlad.

Haye by KO, been saying it for a while too

Haye by KO mid to late rounds. He is a cool headed guy and very relaxed and confident so atmosphere won't be an issue
Again, the results of this poll are completely skewed and unrealistic.

True! It just makes these things kinda pointless! Especially when you consider in international matchups the Brit forum gets things right, so the knowledge is there.
I mean 75/25 is not the real world, nothing about this fight would point towards that sort of ratio.

I think the same thing, but with the roles reversed.
Everytime I play this fight out in my head I see Haye going down either from a jab or a cuffing shot in round 4. He takes a knee and composes himself like in the Mormeck fight. But to no avail, an angry Wlad closes the shot with Haye on his feet.

I am certainly going to leave this alone with the bookies..... I really cannot see how Haye will fight.
Will he go in there all guns blazing or sit on the back foot a little.... I really can't.

I'm going with Haye in this one.
Vlad looks shit scared everytime an opponent fights back, and Haye will fight back. Looking for Haye to stay away from that jab for a couple of rounds and then bomb the big robot out sometime in the first half of the contest (a pot shot from distance, because I can't see Haye having much success trying to fight his way into the inside).

Really looking forward to this one.
My problem with Haye is I don't see the same thing everybody else seems to be.
In his one and only meaningful fight at heavyweight he just wasn't that impressive. He wasn't precise at all. All he seemed to do is wait and wait, and then suddenly launch huge hayemaker right hands. There wasn't any method, any accuracy, any thought of defence. Sure, one of them could hit Wlad, but its not anything that suggests he's a great chance.
John18
04-10-2009, 05:50 PM
That was because he was trying to bomb a HW out in style to force one of the Klits to fight him.
Didn't really work as intended as he didn't look half as good as he can look. But it showed his power had travelled up.
If he had fought more like he usually does he would have had Barrett out of there quicker IMO.
Haye beats Wlad Gurov style :yep
Not really.

K2 undercards are usually naff but this one seems decent by their standards.

Cedric Boswell v TBA
Jonathan Banks v TBA (@ HW not CW)
Andy Lee v TBA
Let's hope they give them some decent opponents.

Wladamir said he will punish David for the whole fight and then knock him out in the 12th, didn't he? You reckon he will go against Emmanuel Stewards commands and stick to his word (or atleast until the ref stops it) ?
As for the winner, i THINK one of them will be Knocked down in Round 1, i think Haye will be knocked down in round 1, then pile of alot of pressure and speed which troubles Wladamir for 3-5 rounds, maybe even enough to stagger him a few times, but Wlad figures him out and gets through the pressure and TKO's Haye somewhere between the 5th and 8th round when Haye starts to tire and Wlads weight is used to push and tire Haye even further.
But FINGERS CROSSED I hope David Haye does it and KO's him then KO's that big tree Valuev too for robbing Holyfield!

, I'm going for Haye KO, I can't see Wlad KO'ing Haye, watch the Sanders Wlad fight, once Haye lands a good punch on Wlad that will be it, I think Haye is too busy for Wlad to clear his head and do damage. Also this is the fastest fighter Wlads faced for a while, and he ain't got too bad a punch either!!

Don't think Haye's going to win this one, I pick Wlad and not in all that many rounds either...call it Wlad KO5.
I'm just enjoying how wound up Haye has made Wlad and his fans. Nothing against Wlad who's a stand up guy (and a stand up boxer), but seeing him so obviously peeved is kinda fun.
If Haye could pull off the minor miracle, of course, it would send shockwaves through the heavyweight boxing community. That would be even more fun.
But I can't think it'll happen.

:think I just think this safety first,Steward trained version of Klitschko has enough to defend against Haye's flurries and what he throws back will be enough to make Haye wilt by the middle rounds.
Haye is a busy and exciting puncher, but he doesn't have one punch KO power at heavyweight. IMO he can't change the way the fight is going with one punch, unlike Sanders or even Peter.
That wouldn't necessarily be a problem, but he lacks the economy of footwork and accuracy of punching to consistently capitalise against Wlad's mechanical style.

Let's see...Wlad is rubbish. Haye unlike all of Wlad's prior opponents actually comes in shape and has heart and balls to back up his talk. It's also pretty clear Haye has gotten under baby Klit's skin. Haye all the way.

Wlad will beat haye with the jab alone. It is like a hammer from hell.
I think Wlad plays with Haye and hurts him for fun and gets the job done in 8.

Vlad by easy knockout, or TKO. If he takes his time, mid rounds, but he might stop Haye early if he wants to. This is a mismatch.

I'm behind Haye but in all honesty I feel that when he discovers that he is unable to close the range and connect cleanly with Wlad he will become discouraged and start to take a systematic beating before falling somewhere between rounds 3 to 4.
I hope he has a good gameplan to get past that jab.
Haye's best chance is a KO within 1-3 rounds. If it goes any longer I think his chances fall dramatically.
He's not able to take a beating from Wlad, which is what will happen if Wlad gets into any sort of control in the fight.

Wlad by absolutely brutal demolition.
Ilesey
05-30-2009, 11:13 AM
Klitschko by stoppage in about seven rounds.
I think Haye will give Waldo trouble and connect with some meaningful punches en route. I don't think he puts Klitschko down but his power and style will make WALD tentative and reluctant to engage.
Haye will win a couple of round but overall will be out-jabbed and eventually caught by something big. Klitschko eventually moves in for the kill and the ref saves a brave Haye from any further punishment.
However, I hope Haye lands a decent punch in the first or second round and then just unleashes on Wlad in an attempt to stop him.
War Haye.

you guys have got to watch the sanders and brewster fights, you will change your mind. Haye is just as big, faster, a bigger puncher and a better fighter than either of those.

Wonder what the ring size will be? Looked absolutely huge to immense for Vitali versus Sam Peter. Seemed phonebooth-like to tiny for Wlad's fight with Corrie Sanders.

Some small part of me says that Haye will do what Pac did to DLH; shock the world and hand out a brutal and clinical beatdown, kind of like his Mac win. But thats a small hope and highly unlikely.
David definitely has the potential to win, and i think a LOT of people are underestimating him; i think he's gonna surprise a lot of people come fight night.
However its more than likely Wlad wins this, but it will be nowhere near an easy night for him. Either way David is give him a hell of a night imo.

I would love for Haye to win and I think it's entirely possible if he's the first to land a big one but realistically with all Klitschko's advantages and Hayes own less than McCallesque chin I really don't think he will. Klit by stoppage.

Yep. That's what I'm assuming. So, will he want a phonebooth against the comparatively smaller man or a stadium to stay on the outside like Vitali versus Peter?

Really want Haye to do it and I think he can, but it's going to have to be early otherwise I fear that Wlad will take over the longer the fight goes. If I was a betting man though, I'd go for Wlad to survive an early onslaught to stop him late.

I hope he can do it .If Haye hurts him he will need to keep throwing punches and finish him off. He has proved to be a good finisher of opponents before,However Vlad does have the size advantage in his favour, I hope Hayes speed is going to be as much as a factor as we hope it is.
If Haye does not get him out of there by round 6 it`s Vlad by late knockout. It is about 70-30 in Vlads favour but I'm a fan of David and ill be over there to see if he can pull it off.
