Of course they dont, Elomar now has a bit of credit from K.Oing a guy like Kickett, even if it was a one in 1000 split second type fluke shot.
A rematch would see him being belted from pillar to post against an improved Kickett

I don't think many believe that Kickett has anything to prove against Elomar, and frankly I don't think Elomar deserves any more attention.

Agreed. Kickett was landing punches and combos at will until the KO. I think the other mob half acted the way they did because they weren't expecting to win either before, or especially during, the fight!

Yeah it was a fluke KO. Just like Oleg Maskaev's KO of Hasim Rahman that he never repeated.

Whats the point?? Kickett will have another 12 months under his belt, Elomar Fudd will have nothing but sparring and gang rapes to keep him active.
This aint Schmeling/Louis I..
No need for a return.

No need for a return. point is when a fighter is beat they want revenge you can write as many funny lines as you can but nothing will change the fact willie got knocked cold and he can only get it out of his head with a win in a rematch

Mundine got Ottke out of his head.
Fenech got Nelson, Grove and Holiday out of his head.
Mundine Snr got Mahunga, Rodriguez, Monzon, Briscoe etc out of his head.
The list goes on.
Considering Kicketts flash KO by, and the bullshit that followed, there will be no rematch. Kicketts trainer will have wasted 12 months if a rematch is ever secured. 12 months from now, Kickett should have himself in a position where any rematch will sound farcical anyway.

Fenech got Nelson, Grove and Holiday out of his head.
fenech lost his chin when the 'judges' (and i use the term loosely) awarded a draw in the first nelson fight. fenech had either climbed his mountain like jones had, and subconciously retired, or subconciously given up through the bad decision. either way, he was never the same fighter after that one.
a ko is rough treatment, but it is the subconcious that decides where we go next.

Cant argue a single word of that.
Fenech had definately 'lost it' by the time of Nelson II.
Physically, he was a different man by Grove time.
The bout with Phillip Holiday was basically over in between rounds 2-3. Fenech had lost his emotions in the corner.
The split decision in Vegas definately took its toll, but there must be other factors that killed his spirit.

Boxoncottonon: You going to the Green fight?
LeonMcS: You're kidding right? Its a joke. I'm not paying for that crap, hes getting worse than Mundine, theres no way they're getting my money, its a disgrace, you'd have to pay me to go etc etc 5 minute rant.
Boxoncottonon: I just won free tickets.
LeonMcS: I'm there.

Amir Khan came back after a shock KO. Depends on how mentally tough Willie is. Whatever people think of elomar and whether the punch was a lucky one or not, it would have to affect Wille and would have his management a little worried. I was thinking he was aiming for some form of title shot and would be interested to see where he goes from here.

FIRST...it could be said that Elomar's KO was the result of smart tactical planning that was carried out with devestating effect. Kickett was caught out, a right hand bomb rolling over the top of a lazy jab that didn't return home via the safe neighbourhood...
SECOND....while I'm a huge fan of Kickett's skills and style I've always been concerned that once he steps up in class and faces a decent banger he may be found out due to his lack of strength. An opponent with a style similar to that of Hatton could wear down Willie until he was ripe for the KO. Of course there's a long way to go yet but the way he went down when tagged by Elomar was a concern.
Third.........at 22 I'd be taking as much time as possible before stepping beyond the level of fighter he had been facing (StClair + Browne) until he fills out a little more. Most top level opponents aren't going to try and match his speed, instead going to the body to slow/wear him down. Kickett needs to face these brawling types so he can be better prepared in the future. With only 30 amateur fights before going pro he's still learning and getting KO'd won't help at all.
FINAL.....he needs to stay at super featherweight for as long as possible. He does not have the height or reach to maximize his strengths at lightweight YET. If he does take a fight every so often at lightweight then he should make the most of it and practise fighting on the inside. Of course they need to be careful who they choose to go up against.
As for Elomar, it's hypocritical to be against the guy just because of his heritage. It's obvious that many of his critics take issue with his Lebanese background yet some of our most recent champions (Kostya + Fenech) are no different.
In fact it wasn't that long ago that Kostya would have been branded by many as a "Commie Spy" !!!
When cut we all bleed red. :ko
He'll never be champion of the world but he has put in the hard, lonely hours to become a pro boxer and should have been given his kudos after such a devestating victory over a guy that will go on to bigger and better things.

Haha, classic...
Any kudos that wouldve been given - went out the window in the
aftermath of the kickett fight..
The fact that Elomar has already pulled the race card - I cant imagine
that anyone will ever embrace him as a boxer.
Kickett on the other hand, handled things like a trooper, I hope he can
bounce back from this - because he has all the tools to become the
fighter that I believe Mundine couldve been.

Isn't it funny the 'race card' is always drawn after certain individuals make total cunts of themselves on Australia soil.

Its not the fact he's a Leb... or his dim witted, uneducated, cock sucking mates.
Its the fact he is a Leb that highlights the incident, especially a Sydney based promotion.
Its quite clear that the 'Lebs' have a shitful respect in Sydney and the general attitude towards them is low.
I believe Elomar Fudd actually threw the corner stool from Kicketts corner, back into the ring???
In the end, if an Australian fighter acted in the same manner, he'd be cursed into retirement.
