Froch v Taylor - Sky PPV?!?

In his column in The Sun today Frank ****** talks about the forthcoming Froch-Taylor bout, and about the difficulties in getting a TV deal for the fight in the UK. After giving various reasons why this may be, he finally says: "Sky may end up taking the fight - but it might be on PPV".

How likely do you think a Sky PPV offering is?

I fucking hope it isn't on PPV. Also don't know why they would put it on PPV anyway. Froch isn't that well known to casual fans really and Taylor certainly isn't. Surely they wouldn't make much money off it. They would get more viewers if its free from channel surfers or whoever.

If it is on PPV then I probably won't be buying it, seeing as I don't have the means to.

Nah, Lopez-Penalosa is on a Saturday night. It's on HBO in the States. I'm guessing it's on Setanta as it's a Top Rank promotion.

If it's not on TV, Setanta (The Home of Boxing) have to pick it up.

I'm not sure how well it would do on PPV anyway but all Setanta's boxing subscribers would be kept happy with this, Haye v Klitchsko, Cotto v Clottey, Pavlik v Abraham plus all the other Top rank, Sauerland fights we get.

I can't see how Froch has the public following for PPV - I can't see it being of PPV. Even the likes of Calzaghe (who has a bigger fan base, than Froch, currently) wasn't really seen as having the numbers to ******t a PPV slot.

I'd better get this in ahead of time then. Although I favour Taylor over Froch, I don't think he's shot or that Pavlik ruined him but I've always thought he's a bit of a HBO hype job and it wouldn't surprise me if Froch sparked him.

umm, you know setanta is only 10.99 a month. a sky ppv is 15 pounds, you could buy setanta for a month when a fight is on and it would be 4 pounds cheaper than a few hours of sky ppv

Every time I've been quoted there's the connection fee with is about £15 I think. So, I'd pay the £11 plus the £15 PPV fee.

Lopez-Penalosa hardly agreat fight. For some reason Juanma is fightng victims of his victim Ponce De Leon. He sparks Ponce in a round then fights guys that Ponce beat.

Then his fan club hype him as the best of the super bantams, which is bollox.
