What is it
1) Randy Turpin v Ray Robinson
2) Ken Buchanan v Laguna
3) Hatton v Tyszu
4) Honeyghan v Curry
5) Benn v McLennan
1 and 4 are the biggies. Stracey-Napoles deserves a mention as well.
Going really back Jack Berg over Kid Chocolate and Fitz over Corbett are two quality wins as well.

Good call, Napoles/Stracey is often overlooked because of Napoles' age. But there was no suggestion that Napoles was past it in the first, indeed Lawless had the pray mat out; desperate to see John make it though the round!

I was going to mention Jackie Bergs over Kid Chocolate...... But the win was a bit before Kid Chocolate became big, if you know what i mean

Cooper over Foley deserves a mention (although it is clearly not the best), as it showed for the first time since Farr we had a legitimate top 10 Heavyweight, and not just one put in there, because he was European Champion.

I'd say Honeyghan over Curry. Curry was Undisputed WW champ and undefeated at the time and Lloyd made him quit.

The Gifted One........Kirkland Laing's win over Duran also deserves a mention Ring Magazine's upset of the year 82..................just a shame he went MIA for around a year after!!

I'd have to say Turpin's upset of Robinson. Say what you will about Robinson's shoddy preperation for the bout, Turpin still beat arguably the best fighter of all time, and put in a great effort in the rematch against a more focused SRR until a fateful headbutt brought about the KO.
I'd say Honeyghan over Curry. Curry was Undisputed WW champ and undefeated at the time and Lloyd made him quit.
I think he was very high up the P4P rankings too.

Buchanan-Laguna, as it was in Puerto Rico

He (Raggamuffin man) beat the undisputed, undefeated, welterweight champion who was pound for pound number 1 at the time away from home. (me thinks) Whether he was an accident waiting to happen is another thing. (Curry)
Benn was really up against it in his fight against the GMAN. Although it was in England and Gerald was moving up in weight to fight Benn.
Hatton hugged and roughed up Tsyzu in his hometown with every possible advantage he could have had. Tsyzu was near the end of the line also.
Donno about the rest.

One of my all time favourite fights. Great performance by John in an extremely hostile environment. Great win, mad even better due to the fact that he was down in the first.

To be fair Benn had a few very good wins away from home against the odds that deserve a mention in their own right.

Honeyghan v Curry for me. Ragamuffin Man annihilated THE BEST P4P fighter of the time in his own backyard. Incredible
P4PNo.1

Has to be Honeyghan for me. Not to many British fighters have beat one of the worlds top fighters while they were in there prime and outside the UK.

A bit over-hyped; Pound for pound was not really pushed in the mid 80s, and even then I would say most had Curry behind at least Hagler going into the bout.
But it was, no doubt, a sensational win for Honeyghan, although Lloyd had done this sort of thing before; when he went to Italy and took apart Rosi, it looked (and was) a very good win at the time; even more so by time Rosi had retired.....
Turpin over Robinson. It's that simple.
How the fuck Hatton over Tszyu is an option I'm not quite sure at this point.

Buchanan-Laguna, as it was in Puerto Rico
Great performance by Buchanan whose class was underlined when he repeated the win over Laguna at MSG 12 months later in great style, and despite being practically blind in his left eye.

What a massive underdog beating the P4P no 2/3 in the world doesn't warrant a choice :think

If you want to be a cynical bugger Hatton-Zoo, Honey-Curry, Stracy-Napoles and Turpin-Robinson can all be "explained away"....
Hatton- Zoo = the ref was a cheat (Zzzzzzz;))
Honey-Curry = Curry was dead at the weight
Stracey-Napoles - Napoles was an old man
Turpin-Robinson = Robinson was shagging/ drinking his way through a European tour at the time.
There may be an element of truth in some/ all of those reasons, but they were all still very good wins.
