The Klitschko Haye fight will be staged at the Veltins-Arena Stadium in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. The Stadium is home to football club Schalke 04 and holds 65,000. This was one of the venue's at the World cup 2006,
and should make it very easy for Brits to get Tickets.

Its good that Haye is willing to go abroad once again to become World Champion
This is what old school fighters had to do
Colin Jones left the shed behind my garden and travelled to Las Vegas to fight Milton McCory
Robin Reid went to Italy to fight Nardellio
Howard Eastman went to LA to fight Bernard Hopkins
Nigel Benn went to Italy to and won the WBC title
and of course Haye went to France to win WBA / WBC titles
in years to come Haye will look back and be able to have a legimate legacy
refusing to sign with Frank ****** has paid off as he would still be defending his WBO title down Caridff Ice rink now if he had

the last Brit fighter in Germany though was Robin Reid against Sven Ottke
was that in Germany?
we can only hope that this fight is not going to be 1% as corrupt
If Haye gets deducted a point for landing a good fair punch on Klitshko then we know that its a fix

Problem is - its not the judges I am worried about - thats a given they are going to be biased to the home fighter
Problem was is the bloody referee
He didnt allow Reid to fight - so he couldnt KO Ottke
He continually intreputed Reids rhythm and then just warned Reid for landing with a punch
Reid was not even allowed to Punch Ottke - I'm not joking
That referee was a fucking wanker - and I pray to God that he is never allowed to ref another fight ever again
If I was Reid I would have gone looking for him after the fight....................................with a baseball bat

I agree
thats not the point
its if Haye is being not allowed to throw his shots freely he is badly handicapped liek Reid was then the fight is going to be a diaster for Haye
I hope this is not the case
But over in Germany with alot at stake - strange things can happen
The ref here is critical
You can have corrput judges - cos it aint going 12
But a corrupt referee could ruin the fight
I think Haye should demand a neutral Amercian referee
If its a German referee - Haye is in trouble

Dusseldorf is 45km away, Dortmund is 50km away. Not much in it.
The stadium is quality, I vaguely remember it from the last World Cup. I think's it's roofed as well.

I work with a Latvian who has just come back from Dusseldorf. Birmingham - Dusseldorf cost him £55 return and took 90 minutes.

It's where Schalke play and it's where England lost to Portugal on penalities again.
Been there twice, awesome atmosphere for football, but we all know how these German fight nights go down......zzzzzz

Not going far wrong with them prices:good
A guy in the general claims that tickets in the stands will be between 29 and 45 euros. Pretty cheap that.

You'd be lucky to get those kind of prices in the summer unless you fly from a London airport
Flights to Cologne, Dusseldorf and Dortmund are all a decent train journey away from Gelsenkirchen

Just been on the Easyjet site and you can't fly to Dusseldorf with them. You can, however, fly to Dortmund from Luton for about £45 which is worth considering.

Dortmund is your best bet......just over half an hour on a train
45 quid is cheap too

Does anyone have mates as annoying as mine?
Every week they complain about the same old boring stuff, it's shite round here, bla bla bla so I ring a few.
"You up for Haye v Klitschko in Germany, found flights for £40, we'll just go for a night, £200 should cover it so not to bad given the occasion"
"Dunno, I might"
"The flights might go up soon as its a weekend anyway, Brits travelling etc so gotta be quick if possible"
"Yeah I might, its just the money aint it?"
"Its over 2 months away, we get the flight sorted now, a hotel can be reserved not paid for and if you save £20 a week till the event you're laughing, i'll get ya ticket and you can pay me nearer the time if you want". Bear in mind this mate works and lives at home, no kids so he cant be that skint!
"Yeah I might do mate, i'll see"
"JUST SAY YES OR NO PLLLEEEASSSEEE"
"I might do"
I know im pushy like but its only because I actually....you know...like to have a life!

Yep, been there done that Scouselad.
Just doing a little working out and I reckon I could get this done for £322 for flights, accom and fight tickets (assuming they're under £50 each) for 2 people.
That's £161 each plus whatever you wanna spend on eating, drinks and other stuff. Bet you I can't get anyone to agree to go. It was the same story with the Froch Pascal fight.

Yeah its pretty decent price wise for a Brit in a heavyweight title fight abroad really aint it?
I can already picture me sitting round a mates watching this with them lot sitting there saying "we should of gone to this" and me thinking "well I did fucking suggest it"
So if they aint up for it I might just go on my own, ive been around the world on my own I can manage Germany!

OK, so I really, really fancy going to see this. Flights to dusseldorf from birmingham are dirt cheap and apparently its easy to get a train to gelsenkirchen from there.
But accomodation is the big killer for me. Does anyone know if the folks at eventtravel.com are likely to do hotel/ticket packages for the fight as it would make things a heck of a lot easier?
Thanks
