i cant deny their talents, and i admit i was never a big fan of either....but RJJ in his prime looked like Freakin Superman in there......fighters his size arent supposed to move that fast....we have seen small fighters move as fast as Floyd...Mosley arguably, Meldrick, Pernell..etc......but have you ever seen a fighters RJJs size move that fast, he was athletic on anothe level.......power, speed, quick reflexes....hed stand in front of his oppoents with his hands down hes so fast.....

RJJ, IMO not even close

Almost all of Floyds "natural gifts" are the result of working his ass off to become a skilled boxer since he was old enough to stand.

With that I would have to give it to RJJ, because he was nowhere near as technically sound as Floyd, so he had to be more naturally gifted as he didn't have the sound, skilled, boxing ability that came as a result of years of hard work that floyd does.

Yeah i agree.:good ...when a knowlegable boxing fan....or a novice fan watch RJJ highlight video....they are like GOD DAYUM:yikes that dude is bad!!!!!!!!!!!....yikes

I think RJJ never needed to develop to fundamental perfection, because he just didnt have too......he fought with his hands down....Jumped in with lead hooks, jumped in with lead uppercuts...Jabbed(lightning fast) when he felt like it....all fundamental no nos...because when your that much more athletic than your opponents...YOU CAN DO THAT!

RJJ was truly an athletic freak......

Mayweather has the edge on RJJ as far as skills go but Jones has the better raw talent. Roy is the most naturally talented fighter to ever grace the ring IMO.I agree

I also heard that Roy Jones daddy made him work up to 8 hours EVERYDAY in da gym since he was a kid.

So they are both very dedicated

but yeah Roy is more talented while PBF is more skilled and tougher.

Jones is the most talent given fighter I have ever seen. Techincal is were is problem is. He relied too much on raw talent, as age went up and the talent was worn down he began to look bad in fights.

Floyd wasnt far behind in line when talent was being passed out:good

All good points - Floyd is better technically and has a more fundamentally sound defense

Roy is a middleweight and he is faster than Floyd. He also hits harder than Floyd. Floyd is definitely the stronger fighter but Roy was never really thrown about. Roy may have the edge in reflexes but he doesn't have the better defence.

Roys speed and power, coupled with his speed to power ratio is just wrong. Floyd is fast but if he wants to put heat on his shots he needs to slow down his shots to load up a little more.

Roy was a bona fide puncher at 160 and 168. He could straight crack. P4P and even normally he may be the fastest man ever. However because Roy is THAT talented he was never AS polished as less talented fighters.

All good points - Floyd is better technically and has a more fundamentally sound defenseMost world class or even good fighters are better technically then Roy.

RJJ hands down probably the most physically talented boxer in history.

Roy is in an entirely different league. He is the most gifted boxer to ever step in to the reing. Period.

Roy = Great natural talent

Floyd = Great natural talent + Great technical skills
