At 140?

Pryor wins a UD due to his non-stop agression, but DLH makes it close.

Pryor would split the first 8 rounds with Oscar and win the last 4 clearly to win the fight in a war. Pryor SD at 140.

If they fight at 147, DLH's size would be too much though, and I don't think Pryor would handle the extra weight well (he only moved up to 140 from 135 because he couldn't get a title shot at lightweight.) DLH would stop Pryor in the 9th round in a good fight that would resemble DLH-Chavez II, but more competitive before the stoppage.

Well I think a fighter like Pryor would be very difficult for Oscar at 147. but at 140 it's a bit different because Oscar was really a physical monster below 147. I still think that the pressure Pryor brings is so horrible though that he wins the fight on attrition. One thing you have to remember about Pryor is that we're not just talking about an aggressor or an educated pressure guy, we're talking about a swarmer, which I don't think Oscar is gunna like on an ATG level, it can expose stamina issues. Pryor is hitting that deck though.

DLH would win he did his best against come forward fighters. It would be a great fight though

You seem underrate Pryor a little, PP;)

Cut him some slack, you even didn't let poor Aaron win the hypothetical Marquez fight:D

Pryor is beating De La Hoya, and he's doing it more decisively than he did against Arguello. I say he stops him. Oscar's stand-up text book style makes it easy for the whirling dervish to confuse him.

De La Hoya's chin stood up to harder punchers than Pryor. Even though Pryor would throw and possibly land more too, I just can't see him knocking out De La Hoya. It would need to be cuts. Oscar ain't getting stopped in a similar manner to the way Arguello was. IMO, De La Hoya, while being textbook, was more flexible and elasticated then Arguello when it came to avoiding punches.

Arguello or De La Hoya at 135?

Arguello or De La Hoya at 135?
that's a very good question. It would be a barn burner for sure

Pryor whips Oscar. Not close, probably late tko, sets far too fast a pace.
At 135 Arguello beats Oscar also, pretty clearly.

I think at their peaks, Pryor was a better fighter than DLH and would beat him, I think his stamina is greater & would overwhelm DLH on work-rate in the later rounds.

However, we also have to concede that Pryor's finest hour, Arguello I, is questionable due to what may have been in the black bottle.

Oscar beats him. He was quite a monster at 140 and would end up taming Pryor down.

Oscar was too fast, too strong and too sharp ... a lot depends on when they weigh in ... if the day before Oscar would have 12 pounds on him ... I like Oscar by decision ...

Pryor for me.

He'd set too hot a pace for Oscar, who would sweep the early rounds but eventually start to fade, and would drop a 8-4/7-5 kinda decision.

Good close war.

Hard to see Oscar beating Pryor, although Oscar had a great left hook at 140 and if he landed it who knows what it could do. But Oscar was not experienced enough at 140 to deal with the type of pace Pryor would set. At welt Oscar wins a decision .

If this had been a topic in the General Forum (where they think that the order of all time greats are as follows...Pacquiao, Mayweather, De La Hoya and then God) the answer would be obvious. Here the real answer is Pryor.

I don't see why it's so ridiculous to think Oscar wins...

Oscar is bigger, hits hard enough to drop Pryor at least, has the wheels to move and not get run over, has better boxing skills, and does well against come-forward types...
