Which were some of the fights which were so physical that a fighter win or loss was never the same afterwards.

Benn-McClellan... I'm not being a smart ass here. OF COURSE, Gerald was tragically incapacitated but sometimes overlooked is that Benn was never the same. Even in interviews, he seemed different.

Tyson-Biggs. Tyson-Ruddock is another one.
The big ones though are Chavez-Taylor and Frazier-Ali.

Oh well, I have said it a thousand times, why not once more! IMHO I don't believe that the JCC fight ruined Meldrick. Meldrick bounced back from this by moving up in weight, and winning a belt. He put on a near flawless performance against the unbeaten Davis (IMHO the best performance of his carear!), and was quite possibly set for a nice reign. But, there were no big name fights out there for him, and the JCC rematch he longed for had no shot of coming off as he would not move down in weight, and JCC was not moving up any time soon for him. so in finding a quality fight, he again moved up a 2nd weight class (too much for him again IMHO) agains a fighter that he was not able to seriously hurt, and after a decent first rd against Terrible Terry...Norris showed he was out of his element. IMHO it was Norris who left Taylor never the same and not JCC as many suggest...Oh well, I had my rant!

The first that come to mind is the beating Meldrick Taylor suffered at the hands of Chavez.
Benny Paret was never the same after Gene Fullmer beat him down.

No, definitely the Carmona fight. After the Laguna fight he beat Sugar Ramos, Raul Rojas, Ruben Navarro and had the 3 fight series with Pedro Carrasco. After the Carmona fight, in which he left the ring on a stretcher with a concussion, he couldn't even get past clubfighters.

Lopez/Sanchez II: Danny actually did better in the 2nd fight than he did in the 1st, but when faced with a choice between moving to 130, or retirement, he retired.

I'd like to hear people's opinions on Riddick Bowe. Some people attribute his slide to the Holyfield rubbermatch while others point to the first Golota fight.
Bowe's problem was that he was always getting fucking hit. Talk about a leaky defense.
When you're getting whacked by Holyfield in 3 straight fights, all wars... Hide, Golota 2x... You're not going to last long. Golota especially was a fighter who would end your career.
He had enough power to scramble your brains but usually not spark out super heavyweights. He beat Corey Sander's so badly he went blind in one eye.
