Arum after watching last Saturday's HW match between Jameel McCline and Chris Aerola : From the Ring Online
"let me tell you something ,I got really sick to my stomach Saturday night with these 2 heavy weights who were obviously out of condition fighting on HBO & Representing this country to me it was a disgrace "
Arum has been know to take shots at the UFC but this tme around he gave them some respect .He stated that Dana White would never allow fighters who physically out of shape to such airtime !"
"We in boxing criticize the UFC but Dana White would never allow athletes like that to fight on his cards ,out of shape and with ridiculous ROLLS OF FAT !I think its rediculous HBO worries about lights and camera angles they need to worry about the athletes they give their time to "
The man has a point !!

I say B/S..im a fan of both ufc and boxing and i have watch fights in the ufc where fighter ran out of gas. Im a big Bj Penn fan but he is one of the guy who ran out of gas cuz he didn't trained hard enough for the fight.
McCline was a late sub for this fight and only had what 6 weeks training. No doubt he was like a biatch in that fight but this also happens in the ufc.

He makes a good point but look at Heavyweights.. how many are in shape?
He's right, these "pro" Heavyweights are a disgrace.

exactly even in the ufc there are a lot of heavyweights that are not in shape. Plus boxing is longer than UFC fights. Boxers have to fight for 30 minutes while MMA fights only 15 minutes. Championships boxers have to fight 36 minutes to 25 minutes in MMA.

These overweight, under-skilled heavyweights are a disgrace to boxing, however, I'd rather watch two fat guys punch each other than two fit guys rolling around on the floor with each other.

There is none but they should not give air time to these fat slobs until they come in condition..Its like now as long as your fat and can throw a punch your a heavy weight in this country !

Bob Arum is the last one who should be talking about disgraceful cards.

the hilarious thing is the UFC Heavyweight Division is just as bad if not worse than Boxing's Heavyweight Division. All of the good Heavyweights are in Affliction.
UFC's Heavyweight Champion is a former pro wrestler for christ sakes that is pitiful.

The UFC cards are generally well put together - White seems to reward fighters that put on a good show while we get Tarver/Dawson II - Who's fair?

yea it's pathetic how lesnar won 1 fight then he got a title shot right away:patsch. ufc is more about popularity contest than who's the best fighter.

I agree..things like Lesnar being the champ even if he did beat Couture after 1 victory are rediculous and take away credibility from MMA..I hope frank mir beats Lesnar in the rematch at UFC100 set in July I believe

Discuss !!But, if Arum had Arreola, he would be singing a different tune, and pumping up Arreola as the new great american champion with heavy fists and all, and brag about his KO prowess.

Well if challenger can beat the champion it obvious he deserved the title shot.
People are bitching about it because they don’t like the idea of former pro wrestler
beating the champion. :deal

Yeah but they are on the under card and they are like the 3rd match no diffrent than the ladies match at wrestlemania ..The HW's of today get top billing im on board with what he says ! At least in the UFC the gassed fighters look in better shape than our two top heavies in chambers and areola !!

Disgraceful? Didn't Arum promote Rahman vs Maskaev rematch on hbo ppv? Didn't Arum put Cotto vs Jenning and Pavlik vs Rubio on ppv ? Did Arum one time promote butterbean and he's talking about fat and disgrace? He shouldn't talk about the heavyweights at all or any weight division for that matter. Atleast Arreola vs Mccline / Williams vs Wright was on regular hbo. For those that agree with Arum need to think alittle bit more.
