What are the chances of a rematch in the near future?
And do you see a different outcome in the rematch?
I see the same scenario again with Paul outworking Antonio to a ud. Unless Margarito changes his gameplan and tries to take Williams out early with some powerful bodyshots

I don't see this happening soon since Margarito will likely beat Cintron and face Cotto once he beats Gomez.
But if they had a rematch...Williams UD

I think Marg would get a late round KO in the rematch

Margarito said himself after reviewing the tape that he saw he lost because he started way too late. Dont expect him to do that again. Even with Margo starting to pressure at around the 6th round PW was almost out on his feet on the 11th.
Margo will start earlier and PW will either fold under the pressure and get TKOd or lose a UD in which he will take a beating.

Paul Williams did not punish anything in his first fight with Margarito. He won a very close UD because Margarito started very slow. If they had a rematch, Margarito would start faster and win by UD or by late stoppage.

Did you guys look at them after the fight? Margo even admitted it was just like getting slapped and it never hurt him.

Margo couldn't hurt Williams even when he came on in the later parts of the fight. Williams could see all the punches coming since Margo is so slow. They're both volume punchers and Williams gets off first almost everytime. Same results PW UD 12.

i dont thinks so...margarito would start faster, and will leave no doubts about the fight..margarito ko williams in 10.
I love Paul Williams, but I kind of believe this too.
I think after magro whips cintron, it will set up a rematch with Williams as a stepping stone to get to cotto.

I've enjoyed every Margo fight I've seen. Throws lots of punches and he fights like a champion. But he really needs to start fast and early. He also needs to find a way to make up for his lack of speed. More head movement perhaps. Clottey looked like Floyd Mayweather against him until he hurt his hand.

margarito started late yes. but as u can see he was the one gassed by the 12th not williams! if he tries to start earlier this time he will b out by the 8th mayb 9 th round

Margo never landed a single serious punch in the last 3 rounds. PW could see every punch coming and was slipping and rolling. And yeah between the two of them Margarito was way more tired. He didn't have enough power left to hurt Williams in the later rounds.

If the Cintron/Marg pushes through and Marg wins the belt . . . there could be a rematch . . . a unification match. :yep
If it happens . . . I'll pick Margarito to win it.

Marg was definitely coming on, but stop the Williams was spent bullshit.
Margarito had a good 7-11, Williams DOMINATED round 12, not even a close round. I cant say a guy gets KOed over, say, 15, when he spent a vast majority of the final round hitting the other fighter.
Paul'd win again, he'll only get better.

margarito didnīt hurt williams?...which fight did you watch my friend...paul williams was on queer street in rounds 10-12.
Queer street, please? Williams is the one who finished the last round strong, punctuating his great performance. Williams was never in danger of being put down, sure he was hurt a few times, but he "weathered the tornado"...:good

AM did hurt PW, but not enough to win. . . if AM can start faster and sustain then he would likely win but he would have to prove that. PW would be the odds on favorite.
We got a heckuva rematch with AM-Cintron, the winner will likely get Cotto since Fraud will duck him till he's dead.

Good asessment, except for the Fraud comment. He is doing as Tony Montana says,"Keeping him on ice"...

People talk about Margarito improving in the rematch, but what about Paul Williams. He's a young fighter that will only get better, and has a huge confidence boost in that he knows he has a belt now. Williams will just as likely be able to improve in a rematch as Margarito would.

The thing is, one can point out exactly what Margarito needs to improve on. But we can only speculate on Williams. What do you think he will improve upon?
Personally, I'd like to see a little more pop on his punches.

Paul made Margarito miss a lot of power shots. He would do the same in the rematch. It should be at 154 though when Williams would really tax that ass. He has more stamina then Margarito.

if margariito tries to start out on williams the way he did against golden johnson he would be running on fumes by the 8th round! he doesnt have the stamina.
