Right now I'm new to sparring and don't know what my style should be... Please help!
I'm 6'0 and weigh about 127
And have a really long reach.
Durring sparring we just do jabbing. When I do, I like to slip more than block, and I have alright power with hooks on the bag.
Sorry to ask...

You're first preference is to slip, but if you can't because the guy is fast, then you want to parry. But if the guy is really fast, then you gotta rely on blocking. So practice all three. In fact, every time you slip, there should be a parry movement regardless. This will more than double the chances of not getting hit as opposed to just relying on slipping.

In the meantime, with your reach, get that long jab working overtime. It'll give your opponent's hell.

6 foot and 127?

Your a freak, intimidation should probably be your style seeing as how you will be fighting people 5'3-5'5 on average....:yep

And how the hell are you good at slipping with that much height at that weight class? It just seems like it would be hard to get low enough for an effective slip for the height difference.

You do not parry a jab. You catch it in the palm of your right glove like his jab is a tennis ball or something thrown at your face. Catch the jab as agressively as the jab is thrown. Also practice throwing a right coming directly from the catch. This is classic boxing technique.

Thanks! I'll remember that.

Carrying out all that advice in the above is great. Now all you have to do is avoid snapping.

yer im light as fuk aswell for my hight
6'2 and weigh about 145 and still hav decent punching power.
jab is important. Do not let them within your arms length, remember if they can hit u (presuming they will always b smaller) then u can definatly him then so take it more as a warning. also learn to step backwards wile punching w

The guy could probably be thirteen for all I know. Sudden growth in height, no muscle cause the testosterone has not caught up yet.
Dont know what his ideal weight should be, but progressing up to 180 would be good.
Assuming he's young, he's in a good position to build his next 50 pounds purely for boxing, providing he sticks to it solely. That is dedicated body mass...
