Instead of blaming Anderson Silva , give him some legit competition. Or just throw him in the LHW division...And add the "yellow card" system , so that fighters are encouraged to be more aggressive.

he should make him drop the MW belt and make him fight at 205 everytime!!!
I just want to see him fight Maia, and if he win, then fuck middleweight and make him fight at 205 vs the big boy where he is still gonna be big.
I would love a Cane vs A.Silva fight

Id be embarrsed to it was a horrible fight. That said its Danas fault for giving Silva 2 straight damn near no hopers. Silva looked so bored even through the walk in. Give his ass a challenge atleast on paper.

I am not sure how the hell this all becomes Silva's fault.

He doesn't cut weight to make 185. He is by no means even a huge middleweight, just tall and long. There are light heavies who enter the ring at 220+. Whether he gets to 220 when he's out of shape is immaterial, the other poster is right, he's closer to being a natural 170lber than a natural 205lber. It really isn't within Dana White's remit to 'make him fight at light heavy'; although knowing the UFC its probably in the smallprint that he can do that . As for Dana White...what a slimeball :-(

Yeah I guess you are right.
I would LOVE to see a Rampage vs Silva fight. That would be a dream fight.
On one side you have the massive strenght advantage and great boxing of Rampage and on the other side, you have a master in MT vs a guy who didnt show he can defend it correctly.

a couple of year ago, yes that would have been great. Now, Wandy don't seem to have a good punch resistance anymore since his 3 knock out where he was not only KO, but dead on the canvas. It's scary when he gets knocked out. I guess its the result of all these year of punishment + his sparring at full contact without headgear...

I'm saying that he hhas the balls and heart to bring the fight to Anderson, that fight might end ugly for Wandy but it will be exciting while it lasts, thats for sure. :deal

Whats Silva suppossed to do? Go for the kill and get caught in a lock. A.Silva knew what everybody wanted him to do but at the end of the day Leitas was the one dropping to the floor and refusing to strike with Silva so is he going to play into Leitas Jui Jitsu and get tapped or is he going to go away healthy and more importantly with the win.
The main problem with the fight was the fans who were booing, that was not a boring fight to me personally as I dont need to see Silva destroy every fighter he faces.

Don't like White, but he can be refreshingly and hilariously honest sometimes; imagine a boxing promoter saying they were embarrassed by their main event...

Dana White is a clown, the guy on that show was a prick and they both should fuck off. Silva never looked in any trouble he beat the guy, what the hell do people expect sweet chin music and the peoples elbow, fights are sometimes tactical, for Dana White to come out and say he's embarrassed for a fighter for clearly winning a fight against a guy who should never been in the same ring as him is just stupid
To everyone who are overly critical of MMA now is a good time for you to go watch the WWF.

forrest griffin walks around at 240 so how would that make silva big for middlweight.

Griffin is big for a light heavyweight, I don't see what Forrest being 240 and fighting at Lt Heavy has to do with Silva being 215 and fighting at middle.

Fernando Vargas walks around at 400lbs. Silva is not 215lbs when he's in fighting shape.

well the source says 5 pounds different than whats quoted before and my point is he isn't massive for a middlweight when he has made 170

obviously it was awhile ago and he might not be able to make 170 now but you can't be a huge middlweight if you could make 170 only a few years ago, it isn't like he has a massive fram and has packed loads of muscle on (like a fhilo or someone)

Before the Irvin fight Anderson at 205 (weighed in at 206), Anderson said his walk-around weight is usually between 220 and 230. Remember, he KOed Irvin in the first round.

I train with some pro mma guys.
The 155lb fighter is in shape in the low 180s.
The 170lb fighters are in pretty good shape at low to mid 190s; though at least one usually tries to diet to get under 190 before the cut.
So I don't really doubt this report at all, as the fighters at the highest professional levels have the weight cutting down to a science.

Yeah Anderson's weight fluctuates between 215-230. In an interview Machida said he is around 215 Big Nog has said he is about 225. He's said hes around 220-230.
On the video. I don't like how Dana was talking about A. Silva. Aside from that he seems to be really looking out for Chuck and they are good friends and that is good to see that it isn't always all business.
Also I don't think he swore once in the video that it's great, I find it enjoyable to watch his videos with out constant profanity. He really seems like a business man now.

Interesting on what he was talking about chuck being done. I agree i don't want to see him keepon being put to sleep. I got a feeling he thinks he aint done yet though.

I'm just guessing, but his last fight at 170 may have been in Jan. 2002 against Roan Carneiro. His next fight was against Alex Stiebling who I'm pretty sure was at least a middleweight.

Silva is getting WAY too much criticism for this fight and Dana should shut his fat mouth. Leites should look for another line of work if that's the way he wants to fight.

Leites proved hes not a fighter. He should be teaching BJJ, thats about it.
And Dana needs to shutup. If anybody should be criticized it should be Dana and Joe Silva for feeding Silva such lousy fighters.
Every single card I watch of the UFC it has the most one-sided matches ive ever seen. Sadly, the majority of MMA fans love 1 round KO's. I just think it looks pathetic and makes the product look like crap.

Tell it like it is. It's like George Foreman always says "win this fight and look good in the next one."
well as far as the booing goes as someone who was at the fight, it looked really really bad live. i wasn't booing but Anderson looked really bad not just Leites. there was no action at all and Anderson didn't seem to want to fight either.
