Been looking for a vid of The Cannon in some action other than boxing. Just found this today. Im not much of a fan of any sport other than standard boxing, but what the hell...

That fight was a joke. He beat a person who knows nothing but wrestling in a striking match. Had that been an MMA match, it would have made more sense... also Erikson would have beat Briggs. Just as Erikson destroyed Skelton in an MMA match. The problem is that other than having some power, he can't strike for shit. I never understood why this fight was made under those rules.

I remember hearing he was training at America top team back in 2000-1
Dana offered him to fight Tim Sylvia for the title. But Briggs turned it down
for pay was too low.

I don't think Dana can ever pay a boxer what he wants. The top boxers will want what every fighter on the card gets put together and then some. Even someone like Briggs probably wants a good deal.

It was good to see Briggs adjust his range as he took into consideration kicks. Briggs can punch, I'm not suprised to see him ko a guy like that. It is known that a boxer has the striking even without elbows etc They need the ground game though. It's all about how well they can pick up some BJJ and wrestling.
