6 Things Khan Will Definately Say:
'We' made a big mistake in the Prescott fight, but he's come back stronger & a better fighter.
He's learned a lot from Freddie Roach at Wildcard and sparring with guys like Manny Pacquiao.
Andriy Kotelnik is now a world-class fighter and a proper world champion.
Something about Naseem Hamed.
Avoids questions about John Murray & Jon Thaxton or completely rights them off.
Makes out his win over Barrera to be great.

And that he's world-class, in his prime, genuine champion... which, for once, is close to being true.
The only true word in that is that he's in his prime.
Genuine champion my arse, he won it of Rees, who won it of M'baye who ****** signed after hatton left him hoping to force a mandatory or be a pain in Rickys side.
Sadly he hadn't brainwashed hatton completely and Hatton realised that being linear champ meant more than that shitty looking WBA belt.
Still it's nice that ginger pubes has at least one belt to manipulate. I guess the WBO got wise to him after Enzo and Cookie.

I will second that...
Khan is nothing more than a downright insulting little coward.
He insults people who have followed, and been involved in this sport well before his great great grandaddy decided to shaft a camel.
Khan is quite intelligent himself, so knows only too well that if he stayed at lW he would run into some serious and dangerous fighting men, (Unlike Himself) and would be exposed in the greatest of fashion, although he already has really, all he is doing is avoiding the best fighters in HIS division, i mean the guy has avoided the best in his division domestically also from day one also, so it is no surprise to see him doing this.
Like i said he is an intelligent individual, but should stop insulting other peoples intelligence by trying to have us believe by going up a division will make him a legend, because he will never be considered that as long as he has got a hole to shove his kebab in...
Prove yourself Mr Khan and push for the fights, dont move up and avoid them, because you are nothing more than a fraud, and a coward.

Utter shite that mate, Khan is not a coward. Any man who gets in a boxing ring cannot be a coward by definition. He didn't fight certain fighters for a number of reasons, calling him a coward shows you don't like him for personal reasons.
Also Khan is not intelligent. He is as thick as pigshit, anyone can see that. All you have to do is listen to any of his interviews where he is presented with a question he didn't expect. He shits himself and talks bollox.
Fact is, Khan is a talented boxer who is a bit thick and is being micromanaged by Fwank - getting the easiest fights for the best money.
I expect the interview with Sir Bunce to be a very boring affair, you wont hear anything you haven't heard in his last 5 interviews.

It's a two hour Khan special so i imagine there will be more than the normal chat.
Khan was on that Paul O'Grady show yesterday and came across well i thought. None of the usual shit that he comes out with, he has got a gym running up in Bolton with 400 kids regularly attending. Since the Prescott fight i still think he has been a bit more humble.
Strange seeing P o'Grady getting so excited about boxing, he loves the sport!

The fact he was back in the gym with the kids the morning after he got knocked out improved my opinion of him a lot. He wasn't hiding or making excuses then (they came from the promoters)
Khan was there in the gym he started to show kids a better way, and what better leadership than to show them how to get up after a set back.

I doubt P O'G could talk about the finer details of the sport but he seemed to be a genuine fan of the sport, telling the crowd they 'must' go to an event e.t.c.
As for Khan, i'm warming to his personality, think he is just a bit think and easily lead.

Though I always supported him I had him down as dumb and arrogant before his KO. He seemed to pay lip service to every critiscism, trotting out lines like a manufactured puppet. When he went to the wildcard it really seemed to ground him. No one can doubt the lads heart and I have warmed to him as a person, though he is still as thick as two short planks (but thats never harmed Ricky). Looking forward to seeing how he carries himself tomorrow. I truely believe the lad would fight anyone.

Personally, I don't care about whether Khan says silly or boastful shit. Lord knows he wouldn't be the first boxer I've enjoyed watching that did that.
I want him to do well as a British boxer, and as an entertaining boxer, and a talented boxer.
And yeah, partly due to the phenomenal abuse he gets from certain sections, it's always fun when you know how wound up some get by him winning. I was always a firm Eubank supporter back in the day for partly that reason.

The ko defeat was probably the best thing that could have happened to Khan as he has dropped his trainer and joined the wildcard gym.
it has shown him his weakness and he has enough time to change his style as he is only young.
If he was fed cans and picked up a vacant belt like the wbo and fought bums for 10 years and then stepped up and got ktfo in that fashion at 32 it would be over for him and he would be to old to try and change his style.

since associating with the wild card crew etc, he has changed for the best.
Glad the show went down well today. I always get a buzz when I come on here and see people enjoyed what we do. I don't suppose we'd do it if you didn't like it - but even for us I thought today was just great to be in the studio. It's Andy Kerr here by the way to give that some context.
I though Amir spoke very well and judging by the response everyone was as glad to see him on the show as we were to have him on. I could be wrong but I sense his honesty and openness won over a few people today.
George Groves was great and to anyone who says he's on too much it's only 4 times in the year we've been doing the show! He is fighting this weekend on a live Setanta show. He's been sparring with Carl Froch who has a fairly significant fight this weekend, he's one this country's best prospects and he's also a jolly nice chap to boot!!!
I think thats enough reason to have George on ...He's what we call a "friend of the show"!
And isn't Spencer Oliver great. No more needed to be said. Love having him on the show. See you in Belfast

Cheers Andy. Poor Amir looked a wee bit nervous at times lol but I reckon that might be because he knows a lot of his critics watch the show (im admitedly one of them) but todays interview showed a bit more common sense from Amir, althought I almost pissed myself when he said the move up was partly to do with struggling to make the weight (losing the last 4 or 5 lbs if memory serves) then in the next breath said the weight was easy to make since moving to Freddy's camp lol.
Overall it will certainly encourage more of the fans from the UK to start warming to him again. I was a huge fan of Amir when he was fighting in the olympics and then all the hype just ruined it for me. As Steve says, its about making $$$$ but if that can be done aswell as entertaining the fans then thats the top formula :)

Froch, Barker, Meager in studio. Mick on the phone about six times. Thaxton and Witter on phone about three times and a dozen plugs for Fury. This has looked like the Hennessy hour at times!
I think more Hennessy fighters have been on in six months than other camps.
Adios.

That ought to tell Mick something!
He needs to actually start promoting his fighters properly.... rather than relying on the lads to promote themselves, or relying on Setanta to get the boys on the show.
Good job we have boxing hour..... otherwise we wouldn't have a clue what half the British fighters (especially Hennessy ones) were doing!
Should Froch win this weekend.... it would be good to find out his future plans. Is it the customary easy defence or some unification?
The IBF is tied up for a while, Kessler has the WBA (don't go there Frochy!) whilst the ****** title is held by a pretty weak champion, Ballsy is it?

damn that post made you sound insecure. Chill my friend.
Khan may be a dumb ass to the masses, but he isn't some university challenger, he is a fighter, a young one in fact. I think the fool brings immense excitement.
I just don't understand this 'get behind "our" fighters' thing. Boxing is a sport where individuals compete their skill against one another, it's not a national sport, it's not like supporting a football team. I don't like Khan for the reasons I mentioned, to this day I don't like Hatton either, I respect him because he proved me wrong, he's better than I thought he was but I still hold the wbo days, the Rios' and Holbaek-Pederson's against him and I always will. Thats the silver-spoon treatment I mentioned and in Khan's case it's even worse. If Khan proves me wrong, I'll respect him too but he hasn't come up the right way.

Taking a lifetime to get home so really looking forward to seeing the show later.
If you ask that blonde bird who's always walking about in the background to bend over her desk a little more without you getting sacked for gross misconduct that would make it even better.

good stuff Andy, it was a brillient show today
i always wanted to know are you a genuine fan of the sweet science? or is it just a job, because in the early days it looked like you were new to it, but resently your enthusiasm, respect for fighters and knowledge has improved
when did you get into boxing and what are your favorite fights of all time?
keep up the good work

Getting behind our boys is not hard to understand, it happens in all sports why is boxing any different.
Amirs a very good fighter and he entertains I don't feel any urge to cling onto quotes by him but if he's on t.v i'll always watch him.
Watched him on Paul 'o Grady last night he didn't say much new but he got a warm reception, who'd have taken Lilly Savage as a fan of pugilism:good

I watched a program about Amir Khan and apparently Paul O Grady goes to all of Khan's fights.

Seemed okay to me. Honest about easy option at the moment. Irked by him saying Murray and Thaxton have to make something happen to fight him. I agree, but the fights should have happened time ago.

Buncey, it's about time the show got extended.
It's got a nice, fast pace to it, but you could easily fill another hour.
Who actually watches setanta sports news normally? The boxing show must get much better viewing figures.
It's a no go. Buncey has to have his suit back with the wardrobe department and Andy has to get home for his tea before his mum shouts (sorry i meant before his baby cries).

He didn't seem too keen on Witter's name being chucked around.
Damn! Witter would spark Khan, wait for him to lead and hit him with one, nice counter shot.
Let's say Khan beats Kotelnik (I don't think he will personally) how does everyone see Khan vs. Witter or Khan vs. Olusegun (I actually think ****** might make that fight to be honest, justify Ajose's unbeaten record and knowing either way he'll have a winner, and that it probably isn't a hard fight for Khan) would go?
I'm not sure Khan will beat Kotelnik, but how does everyone else think Khan would get on against the best of the dometic 140lbers (to be honest, not mentioning Hatton as we all know the result there)

He'd beat Witter and Ajose.
Witters finished, he's hoping for a big payday, he's ready to cash out.

Witter 'had' a knockout punch and also the days where Khan stands with his chin up in the air and his hands by his side are gone.
Khan would outbox and outlast the now old Witter.

Khans a good lad and made alot of good points ! ... think moving up weight is slightly two fold ..odv Kotelnik is an easier champion but getting an extra 7 or 8 lbs of strength especailly in his legs will make him alot more solid .... I know a weak chin is a weak chin but if his legs can stand up then he will be a stronger better fighter ...
Personally i think the lads a potential superstar - his boxing speed n style is excellent to watch and Freddie Roach has worked miracles with the lad ...

Barrera wobbled Khan three times in that fight, you might have become a believer but not I, not yet. Khan can't take a punch. Witter would knock him into the middle of next week.

#42. You are taking one sentence from a night of talk. Trust me, Amir Khan is respectful.
He did make it look easy against Barrera.
He did make mistakes against Prescott.
If he fought Valero for peanuts in a year and was sparked in 11 seconds would you be happy then?
Let's get a bit real -
Adios.
haha so it being easy didnt have anything to do with the cut?? you're in denial if you believe that
