Damn, this guy is like Frankenstein's freakin monster, just walking through all kinds of shots and he keeps coming.
The most recent fight that I saw like this was Margarito versus Cotto. Cotto landed just about every punch and punch combination FLUSH on Margarito and Tony just walked right through it and walked Cotto down.

Ali had to think Frazier wasn't real in their fights, especially fight number one! Cesar Chavez probably caused a lot of opponents to wonder that about him as well.

Yep, loaded gloves does wonders.

Foreman vs Moorer was pretty unbelievable at times, considering Moorer had legitimate Heavyweight power, and so many flush shots were being landed.
Cotto vs Margarito
Frazier vs Ali I and II
Vitali vs Lewis - both of them to be honest.

I have no clue if his gloves were loaded in this fight, and due to my nature I will call him innocent (in this case) untill found guilty (doubtful at this point). But his gloves had nothing to do with his chin, he took some solid shots and kept on coming.

Villasana/Garza
Shavers/Cobb
Cobb/Norton
Anything from Foreman's comeback. Morrison, Moore, Stewart all come to mind.
Mercer/Cooper.

Exactly PhillyPhan! In the first six or so rounds Margarito barely landed a single punch on Cotto, while Cotto landed big shots and awesome combinations. I have never seen Cotto against an opponent where he was able to land so cleanly and so often. Yet the Margarito train rolled on and right through.

Recently, it'd be jm marquez against Diaz. He soaked up those clean shots and didn't change or alter a thing and just hung in that pocket with his feet and hands in the same position.
From years ago Chacon==Limon 4. How those guys hung in there taking those shots I'll never know. And those weren't jabs those guys were absorbing & there were lots of body punches as well.

Another that came to mind was Hearns vs. Hagler. Tommy raked Marvin with some great shots in the first couple of rounds.

I always think of Holmes-Cobb when considering the Frankenstein analogy with regards to boxing. Tex was an automaton in that one.

Chuvalo vs Foreman from 1970. Chuvalo's wife was reported to have possibly fainted watching the carnage. When they interviewed him after the fight he stated that he was just getting warmed up and could not understand why the fight was stopped. People always said that if there were fights to the finish Chuvalo would have been undefeated. Foreman years later said that the one guy who could really take a punch that he fought was Chuvalo. Today, at about 70 years of age I read that this superman can bench press about 470lbs! He really is a Cro-Magnon man. And he also shows no ill effects from his long boxing career. His skull is probably at least three times as dense as the average person.

Lamotta vs. Robinson is the winner (how did I forget that?). Lamotta was just blundering and bumbling forward, unable to even lift his arms to block the shots by the end of the fight.

And I suspect that Margarito may have been quite used up after that pasting despite having actually come out on top. His style was right for Mosley, but it was also right for Cotto too. Shane looked workmanlike - at best, mere months before Margarito when he fought Mayorga. I cannot dismiss the possibility that Margarito was reasonably used-up by the time Shane got to him.
Let's not forget, Margarito has always absorbed punishment. Cotto may have just been the last time he was able to do it on that level.

I suspect the Mosley loss did not have anything to do with Cotto at all. Mosley has more mass, and landed while on the front foot with his full weight behind it -- and some punches Margarito didn't even see because of the handspeed.

Tyson/Lewis before the knockout. The only thing Tyson had that was significant in that fight was his chin.

Schmeling could take pain but unfortunately was in the ring with one of the best finishers(of course talking about the 2nd fight). Even Cus D'Amato said he could absorb vast amounts of punishment.

There is no proof of that. And loaded or not, it doesn't help someones chin or ability to take a punch. Margo kicked his ass and crushed his heart and he was never the same again. :rasta

Interesting that a man known for his devastating power has been mentioned quite a few times ie Foreman. Wayne McCullough took some hellacious shots throughout his career. The one I remember cringing at most was against Harrison-he was getting brutalised in that. If any one remembers the first Chi v Brodie fight. Can't really remember the fight but Brodie's face was an absolute mess by the end.
