loud, biased, screams far too much and licks up the hole of anybody who is BJJ based, and his commentary of the striking is awful(looping punches and "good combination" when a fighter throws a sloppy combo that doesn't connect does not make good commentary)

one of the most un-proffessional idiots I've ever seen or heard, and is one of the reasons I stopped watching MMA. Not to mention his pro-blow campaign, this stoner moron needs to be shot before he does it himself one joint at a time.

and people say "oh he knows the game and hes not a yes man" no he knows BJJ and fuck all else, and hes the biggestyes man in the buisness, his commentary during the Griffin-Rampage fight not to mention the Gono farce was a disgrace.oh TKD US open champion? big whoop, he said himself that its "an almost useless martil art" and his commentary of the striking is abysmal, he knows jack shit about hand to hand combat in my opinion.

"You've got Joe Rogan going apeshit over a few leg kicks, oblivious to everything else going on"- Stephan Bonnar.

couldn't say it any better, so he knows what a gogoplata is, again, big whoop.

Get idiots like this out of MMA if you want it to go mainstream.

And yes, Goldberg goes without saying...But at least hes funny in a pathetic way.Goldberg isnt funny. He's just an idiot. Guy should have stayed in the WWE. And Rogan isnt everyones cup of tea. His fanboyism just seems to get the better of him and he just runs with it. Most of what he says is alcohol induced crap. Id much rather listen to veterans like Bas and Mauro Ranallo. Dam i miss PRIDE...

I will admit there is even worse out there, but Rogan is the guy that sways the casual fans opinion because he comes on as such an authority, and he works as the UFCs colour man, yet he is so clueless at times and SO partial to certain fighters its a joke.

He does know MMA to a degree. But he's way too much of a fan boy and his enthusiams gets the better of him. The result is stupid comparisons between Morales Barerra and Bonnar Griffin. Or Rogan drooling over how athletic Josh Koscheck is. Its just nonsense. I hate the whole UFC format and to be honest it hardly even interests me anymore.

Exactly, I was looking at a thread earlier on a different MMA forum called

"2009 is the year boxing dies"

and the amount of people who think boxing is dead and MMA is taking over is sickening, is the opposite, the show is now so un-professional its hard to take at times, I actually stopped watching after the Hamill-Bisping joke...That was the nail in the coffin for me, Rogan says to Gonos face(who doesnt speak english well obviously) didnt deserve to win the fight, yet not a fucking word about how Hamill was robbed.

and lets not forget how awful the fight between Hamill and Nickells looked on TUF... Eric Crumble would knock those guys out based on that performance, yet he went on to completely outbox Bispingand manhandle him and get robbed.

Joke

JokeBoxing is my first love. Its not going anywhere. Only idiots pay attention to the drivel that Dana spews along with the stupid kudos he trys to glean from MMA whilst trying to use boxing as some form of leverage. The guy was a failed boxing promoter who had rich benefactors. He's not interested in MMA. He's only interested in the UFC and what profit they make. As for Hamil the guys a decent fighter and he was in my opinion robbed versus Bisping. But those types of fights dont interest me. Bisping is a uncouth clown and Hamil isnt up there with the best light heavies in the world.

I remember some guy asking his thoughts on Fedor, and his thoughts on Dana's thoughts on Fedor. He basically said Fedor was incredible, and Dana was only saying what he was saying because he's a Businessman.

I don't know why Joe is getting called out - That other guy is just retarded, at least Joe has some knowledge.

He isn't the most pro, he needs to have someone explain to him that a microphone amplifies the voice so you don't HAVE to yell all the time - But he is excellent at calling the ground stuff.

I think they should rotate a few UFC stars or ex stars who can talk a bit to give a more rounded explanation.

joe rogan gold at the US open?

what fucking year? lol this must be utter bullshit, I'm looking it up.

edit: okay, I knew this was bullshit. let me explain to non-tkd practitioners that the 'US open' tournament is hosted and sanctioned by the USAT (formerly the USTU) which is the IOC and USOC (international/us olympic comittie) recognized governing body of taekwondo in the US (think usaboxing). This tournament draws international level fighters and even some national team members.

"On the issue of Joe Rogan's competitive background as four time Massachusetts State Champion in TKD, and US Open TKD champion, Grand Master Jae H. Kim, Head instructor of TKD Boston, and Joe Rogan's instructor, elaborates more specifically on his TKD competitive career in this email (Richard Smith is also an instructor at TKD Boston):

"Joe Rogan was a Light Weight and Richard Smith was a Heavy Weight. The competition in 1987 was not US Open but American Open Tae Kwon Do Championship. The final match was between Joe Rogan (Light Weight Champion) and somebody from New York (Heavy Weight Champion). Joe won with a roundhouse kick to the other fellow's mid section. Joe was a good student at our school." Jae H. Kim"

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

the tournament he went to is a cluster-fuck of a bunch of wacky martial arts fighting in some kind of freestyle stuff using outdated rules, techniques, and formatting. It sounds like point-style to me (fight is stopped after every point, an arcaic version of taekwondo that was outdated back in the 70's, hardly full-contact). I can gaurentee that he was never anyone in taekwondo, never national team member, probably never even state-level fighter.

Also, if the tournament was in 1987 (he was born 1967) he was 20 years old.

tl;dr? joe rogan is NOT a taekwondo fighter of any substance.

no kidding he thinks taekwondo is shit, he never did anything close to olympic circut competitions anyway.
