Whatever works is the most effective. I never thought Naseem Hamed would get as far as he did with that style. He left himself so wide open it was ridiculous. Taylor clearly has a stamina problem regardless of how good of shape he gets himself into technically he is a good boxer.

Effectivenss imo, its subjective though, as for some it is fine technique that is effective!

Varys from fight to fight.
Some times, I end up rooting for the other fighter, I was all Zab until he try to low blow Carlos in the intros, than I switch sides and rooted for Carlos lol.
And guess what???

I think effectiveness is probably the most effective. ;)
That's what the word means, whether it's perfect technique or a rough and awkward style, whichever works best is going to fall under 'effectiveness.'

Really? I mean, really?
Please at least rephrase the question Gpater.

Technique, as it's acknowledged, is both over and underated. I hope that clears things up.

Maybe whats more impressive, a technically sound win or an effective win, such as a systematic beat down, or a lucky punch KO win after losing every win.

yeh thats good but i mean like
a fighter like carl Froch he has quite an ungly style isnt exactly technically sound vs Jermaine Taylor who is very good technically
or
Marciano vs Walcott/Charles

We've all heard it said about fighters: "He does everything wrong...right"

Technique, acquired after countless hours of repetition, tends to make you effective.
Imagine fighting in the ring (or anywhere else) doing what comes naturally with no training: swinging wildly with no conception of accuracy and timing; you get a whuppin'.
Imagine moving in the ring (or anywhere else in a fight) with no conception of stance and feet placement. You end up horizontal.
Even aiming with the proper knuckle makes your punching more effective.
On the other hand, unorthodoxy is confusing, and a smooth unorthodox style can take a man a long way, because he thrives on the unexpected. But, even in his own style, the skilled unorthodox has his own personal technique.
Give me technique for effectivness over nontechnique any day. No need to reinvent the wheel.

Froch wasn't effective until the last round because of poor technique and he would have lost the fight if it wasn't for the last round where Taylor didnt have the stamina to compete. If Taylor had played it safe and jabbed and grabbed or simply ran he'd be WBC Champ right now
All the technique in the world won't make up for piss poor stamina though

That is correct. Taylor has some stamina problem, most likely psychologically related, that he cant seem to get past. Weve seen fighters in the past with the same problems. Bruno, Morrison, Briggs, Wlad K. to name a few.

Simply not enough road work, nothing wrong with maxing out bag or pad work until you can't breath either. Plus too much speed work/weights work will see a fighter punching themselves out, they'll be more explosive/faster/more powerful but that comes at the price of using up too much energy in the early going
Taylor also has problems on the inside too though.
