Undefeated Sheffield prospect Kell Brook has been nominated to fight for his first title - the English welterweight belt.
The BBBofC have called for purse bids for a fight between the 20-year-old and champion John O'Donnell.
He lost his last fight when he was knocked out inside two rounds in Las Vegas by Christian Solano on the undercard of Oscar De La Hoya's match up with Oscar De La Hoya.
In contrast, Brook got the best win of his career last time around when he stopped Carl David in April in Cardiff, but had to climb off the floor to do so.
Brook, 14-0, next fights at the Nottingham Arena in what is expected to be an eight round affair.
Ironically, both Brook and 21-year-old O'Donnell, 15-1, have been nominated for the prestigious Young Boxer of the Year Award.
The BBBofC have said the fight should go on before the end of January.
given the timings this will end up being on the undercard of johanneson - mitchell...possible good ****** show to start 2008.

Well, it'll certainly get her a lot of publicity, but I fear for Brook's chances.
She surely hasn't been able to get in much training, and it seems very stupid to risk damage to her looks.
Still, good luck to the girl!

Why Kell Brook is quiet? I think he is part time boxer?

iv been wondering about young john o'donnel i can remember some of the trash talk before may 5th with him saying how he was going to show young prospects here in the uk how to fight then he proceded to get his ass kicked in 2 by a journey man who recently got outboxed by a 17 year old boy. i hope hes learned a thing or two from his last fight.I guess all the sweet talk from carl froch gave him a tad too much over confidence.
as to who wins this bout...i'm not sure, but taking a look at both these 2 guys records, kell may possibly be the favourite

Kell Brook's chin may be worse than Khan's, it's really bad. I doubt O'Donnell can KO him though, thus the reason why O'Donnell was selected.
Either way, he's a total non-factor, less than Khan, but without the hype.
He ought to take up modeling, boxing is not Brook's best chance at success.

carl froch said some serious shit about odonnell concerning the kids ability, he rated him as a better prospect then haye or khan, there was also mention of how good his in-ring capabilities were.

If he's of that type of talent, then he should walk right through Kell Brook, no?
Brook's the type of fighter that anyone decent will smash in a round, kind of like how Dunne was smashed in 1 by Martinez.

O'Donnell is skilled but has very little punching power and a questionable jaw himself .
Loads of people have been saying the 'I knew Dunne would be beaten when he faced someone good' , but how do we know Martinez is anything other than heavy handed ? . Most of us here have only seen 86 seconds of him and I'd like to see him in with Pickering or Walstad before I proclaim him as anything other than just a guy with a decent punch .
i think if the real kell turns up it will be a belter -i wouldnt underestimate brook.
id put kell a slight favourite.

From what I've seen of Kell, he will never be world class.

I never proclaimed Martinez was anything. He's euro level.

I suppose you only called him decent but that wasn't specifically targeted at you anyway , more of an opportunity for me to make a point .
