View Full Version : Roach: If Hatton loses to Pacquiao, then Hatton-Khan SUPER FIGHT..

Roach, who trains both Pacquiao and Khan at his Hollywood Wild Card Gym, spoke exclusively to The Daily Telegraph, and said: "Hatton is close to the end of his career. If Manny does what I think he will do to Hatton, and if it all goes to plan, we will knock him out and bust him up.
"If that does happen, I would say Amir is close to a fight with Ricky, which is a huge fight in the UK, a sell-out. We have been working on Amir's mental game, and he is getting stronger all the time."

Khan is already poised to step up from the lightweight division to light-welterweight on June 27 to challenge Andreas Kotelnik for the World Boxing Organisation title. A victory in that contest would also bring the two British fighters, closer to a face-off.
Roach said: "We're almost ready to put Khan in against Hatton. We've been working on his mental game, making him spar and shadow box 12 rounds, and we want him to step up in competition.
"It's two fights away. In a Hatton-Khan fight, the winner would go on to bigger and better things; the loser would have to go away and think about doing something else.

"I like Ricky, I like his family, I believe in hard work. But you can't have everything you want. I think he is close to the end. So is Manny, come to that. They can fight more if they want to. But I don't think they will go on more than a year."

You may as well put Khan through a crusher rather than pay Hatton £10m to do it.

This fight will NEVER happen - too many obstacles.

Roach must not like Khan.

It first of all depends how the Manny-Hatton fight goes, and if Hatton loses ( I hope he wins) in which manner does he lose?

Speed and fast feet is something Hatton not deal with well. How much will a loss take out of Hatton?

Will Hatton want to fight Khan after a loss to Manny and having made around £40m+ from boxing?

Will ****** refuse himself the biggest British fight (Payday) in the last 20 years which would generate millions? Is Khan ready to take on a pressure fighter like Hatton? and can he fight on the inside?.

Personally I think Khan is at least 12 months away from being even ready, Roach feels Khan is 2 fights away, and still I think Khan would be a very big under dog. The only chance that Khan has is hit and move, but God knows what will happen when Hatton pins Khan close and takes the fight on the inside, right now I can only see one winner Hatton and (******, in the background)

IF Khan beats Kotelnik and Hatton loses agaisnt Pac then a fight between them would make sense.

Super-mismatch more like. Hatton'd fucking kill him.
Why is Roach even considering this and why are you guys? I don't understand why they didnt just give Khan a title shot on his debut and sod all the pissing about.

Once Hatton gets humiliated against Pac he will want one more chance to cash in and a chance to flog the rest of his shitty clothing to tarded fans so Khan will be the oly option he has left. Khan will probably stop him mid fight.

I think there is too much money in it for it not to be made.

Not really...a fight with the loser of Floyd vs Marquez makes more sense...depending on the nature of the loss...

"We have been working on Amir's mental game, and he is getting stronger all the time."

This is an intangiable that you are born with. Roach can improve it but naturally strong minded guys like Froch are always a worry. I think Hatton has a strong mind.

Roach is a clever man, remember he said if pac busts up and knocks out hatton not simply beat him. We all know that probably is not going to happen. Although i have a feeling, hattons lifeftyle is catching up to him. If if what roach said happens, khan would be a monumental underdog.

The biggest bit of news out of that article is that Pacquiao may retire within a year.

Thats so true, Roach dont even mention Kotelnik's name even once, hope Roach does not take him lightly nor Khan for that matter.
