ROACH THREATENS TO GO HOME!

Celebrated trainer Freddie Roach, who is widely recognized as being responsible for turning Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao into the most exciting fighter in the world today, is fed up with the failure to enforce security at the gym of Rex “Wakee” Salud and has threatened to pull-out and return to Los Angeles.
In a long distance telephone conversation with Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today, Roach said the gym was swarming with people today and told us he had given Salud “one last chance” to keep his promise to prevent fans from jamming the gym and effectively distracting Pacquiao from his training regimen. Roach said "if nothing happens I'm going home."
Roach said Salud makes promises and doesn’t keep them reminding all concerned what happened to Pacquiao in the first fight against Erik “El Terrible” Morales when fans crowded the Wild Card Gym and Pacquiao couldn’t focus on the fight itself and eventually lost.
When strict measures were imposed in the gym and Pacquiao trained in seclusion he simply ripped into Morales and knocked him out in the last two fights of their famous trilogy.
Philboxing.com reported that droves of fans invaded the gym from even far-flung Cebu towns prompting Roach to ask “who are these mysterious people showing up at the gym. They suddenly came out of the woodwork and the guards can't seem to stop them.”
Salud told us late this afternoon that he was in a meeting in which they were drawing up plans for issuing passes to watch Pacquiao train even to media, while Roach, except in special instances, doesn’t want video cameras when Pacquiao is sparring. Salud promised that he would “definitely impose strict measures beginning tomorrow” although Roach was apparently unimpressed telling Philboxing “I will believe it when I see it.”

Roach is paid - it's not about the money anymore. He's more worried about his safety and doing his job right. He's been in the game long enough to know what will distract his fighter and what won't.
He didn't train Vasquez for is fight against Marquez - it wasn't because the money wasn't right - it was because he didn't thinking Vasquez was ready to fight again after a broken nose.
My point is the man has morals that he sticks by. Let the crowd continue to make it's ways in the gym and watch what Roach does.

As much as he may love Manny - he loves himself even more.
If Manny doesn't get his Training Camp in order - MAB may just walk all over him. I think Pac-Man walks away with a win - but only if everything goes Roach way. If Roach is unhappy - I don't see how they can have a good training camp.
I bet MAB is training like crazy. He's looking to avenge a lost and this is suppose to be his final fight. This one should be good.

I think so. Technically, MAB is light years ahead of the limited, but powerful & aggressive Pacman. Their 1st fight caught MAB off gaurd. He'll be ready for that shit next time & he'll be the one putting Pacman on the seat of his pants.

Manny being upset one of these days, if not by Barrera then by some other fairly big underdog, wouldn't surprise me.
He ought to go into seclusion for his training.
He should leave the Philippines during training. I remember they talked about him before one of his fights (I think JMM) and how people would like him as far away from the Philippines as possible when he's training, so he has less distractions.

Remember - as one dimensional as Manny is - he's still winning.
Most of the guys he fight have more skills than him - but his pressure and relentless attack keeps his opponents on the defensive side. It's hard to score points - let alone win a fight like that.
Pac-Man by Split-decision - maybe even UD.

Although I lost a tad bit respect for MAB after his delusional cry baby shit after JMM smacked him around, I really hope he beats the mustache off Pacs face.

I've liked Barrera for a long time and give him a good shot at winning. He's one of the smartest boxers still fighting. He should at least frustrate the distracted Pac in the early rounds.
LOL
This might be one of roach and pacman's tactics... maybe they are just trying to fool barrera.
Hey Roach don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out.

The filipine nuthuggers should leave Roach and Pac alone!! They should have some bodyguard in the gym that dont let the nuthuggers in.

I do feel that MAB was caught off gaurd by Pacman and overlooked him.Pacman was still a nobody when he faced Barrera.
I do feel MAB will be well prepared for this fight but at the same time Pacman is in his prime and has improved overall since the first time they fought.MAB has lost a step or two.

without Roach, Pac is nowhere near where he is now.

Damn . . . that's sad news. :-(
That's the main reason why Roach doesn't want to train Manny anywhere else but in L.A. Too much fucki'n distraction.
Maybe even Manny's dogs, cats, house hold helps, relatives were all being allowed inside the gym.

MAB may have under estimated Pacquaio on their first fight. He may have come into the fight not 100% . . . but it's too late for him to comeback and beat Pacquiao at this point. He is no longer the same MAB that fought and defeated Hamed.
No way MAB can fight Pac the way he fought Juarez, because Pacquaio won't be as tentative as Juarez to come in to hurt and finish him off. And if he fights Pacquaio like he fought JMM . . . it's 60/40 he'll lose too.
It's gonna be a trilling action packed fight till it last . . . but at the end, Pacquaio will still over power him and comes out the winner . . . that is considering Pac comes in unaffected by all these fanfare and bullshits.
If Pacquaio shows up in poor condition then that makes it even . . . it's gonna be a 50/50 fight.

This is Tyson Douglas all over. Manny is stupid, and hes probably going to get his head handed to him by Marco.

All this soap opera is making Barrera a liver and liver dog. Add that to the obvious trilogy potential, and I'm thinking there is a ton of value in betting on Marco.

man...barrera is too good not to have a chance. If Pacman dont get his shit together he may wind up losing. But I think pacman just needs to get in some hard training 2 weeks before the fight and he should be good. He is that good though PAC fans are certified crazys.

I really hope Marco beats him - with the way things seem to be going with Pac, could he be ripe for an upset? I don't think so, but remember the conditions in the 1st fight...
