What is the world coming to? Just look at these recent fight results recorded in boxrec. In particular, look at the records of the losing fighters. Crazy! Indecent! Unconscionable!

These were for certain titles, now what if one of those losing boxers happened to win instead?

Why isn't anyone making an issue of this? :yikes

Friend, it's not the titles I'm complaining about. It's the credentials of the fighters they allow to fight for the titles. Take a look at the losing column. Got it? :-((

Whatever about the one in Germany , the Asian ones often contain fighters with incomplete records and they often have many more wins . The only problem is they are just as overmatched as it appears on paper anyway .

No, I'm not. It's plain to see the losing fighters weren't qualified at all to fight for a title.

But Big Ears is probably right, those boxers' records are sometimes not complete or accurate.

David Diaz-Erik Morales was the biggest joke of a major title fight in recent memory. Here's how it went down: Casamayor beat Chico for the WBC belt, then he started talking with Freitas about a rematch and the WBC stripped Joel of his title for TALKING about a fight with someone other than David Diaz (who was his mandatory) have you ever heard of such a thing? No is the answer. They knew Erik on his best day could not beat Casamayor so they stripped him and gave it to David Diaz who was 100x more beatable than Joel and had it not been for inaccurate judging a shot Morales should've won that fight with Diaz. Joel has reached the status where he's above belts, but it's extreme bullshit regardless.
:good :verysaddisgusting tainted the whole of the wbc forever i mean it is so corrupt that i cant think of any other time in history that that happend

i hope joel can beat katsidis ,oh he will win but katsidis can be a bully which casa can struggle with if not on form and might look bad

I still believe some corrective or disciplinary measures should be imposed on entities that sanction mismatches as title fights, regardless of the scope of the title. Both fighters must be required to have proper credentials, including licenses from their respective countries/states. That's obviously as it should be, yet the reality is that mismatches are still happening, and unlicensed fighters are being allowed to fight!

Actually, that's not how it went down. What happened was that Casamayor inherited Corrales' mandatory which was due, against the "interim" title holder david diaz. Casa knew this going into the Corrales fight. After he won, the WBC inquired about the Diaz defense, and Casa said he would not fight Diaz because there was no $$$, and started looking at the Frietas fight instead. He told the WBC that he would not honor the mandatory.

When a champion refuses to honor his mandatory, he's supposed to get stripped. Yes, even Casamayor.
