If you were able to make a fighter by taking the best abilities (speed, power, chin, etc etc) from the following two groups of fighers, who, in your opinion would be the better of the two at 160?

Group 1: Hagler, Leonard, Duran and Hearns

Group 2: Jones, Hopkins, Toney and Nunn

Group 1 would win here. They have better diversity IMO.

In all honesty, I agree.

Hearns is the wild card here. I mean honestly, all you would have to do is give Hearns Hagler's chin, and I am not sure any fighter you can put together could beat him. Even giving Jones Toney's chin, Hearns still is a slightly better boxer, a little slower but with more power. Close in speed with Jones and more aggressive.

BTW, I must admit, I just kinda through Nunn in there. Jones, Hopkins and Toney are a given but maybe their's another fighter with more of a history at 160 with those fighters. If there is feel free to swap.

Nunn was a good choice. He was a versatile boxer with good skills and alot of talent.

good question. lets evaluate.

Speed - Leonard / RJJ = edge group 2
Defense - Leonard / Toney = edge group 2
Power - Hearns / Jones = edge group 1
Chin - Hagler / Toney = draw
Toughness - Duran / Hops = draw
Dirty tactics - Duran / Hops = edge group 2
Intabgibles = edge group 1
effective agressiveness = Hagler / Toney = edge group 1
Afro - Hearns / Nunn = edge group 1

final analysis, group one wins by an afro.

Tough to call - I think throwing in SRLs handspeed in group 1 tips the scale, because I see group 1 being tougher, crazier, and ability to handle adversity than group 2 in other areas.

Very good groups however.

Group 1 has better all around boxers and Hagler is probbly the best of the 8 boxers from both groups. However Leonard, Duran and Herns all ATGs and had secuess at 160, were better at lower weights.

Group 2 at 160 in my opinion would do better at 160. They might not be big names compared to Group 1 but over all I think they are better at 160 than Group 1.

My pick is Group 2.

Probably better than Duran at 160, but Leonard and Hearns were fantastic at 160 and even above, just because they didn't spend as much time there doesn't mean they weren't as skilled. I would pick both to beat Toney and both to beat Nunn, and possibly even Hopkins. And Hagler beats them all other than maybe RJJ.
I not saying that Leonard and Hearns didn't have skills at 160 but Toney and Nunn were also very good at 160 as well. They might not be as well known but at 160 (not pound 4 pound) I would pick Group 2 to beat Group 1.

Better fantasy fighter? I personally cant decide Jessica Biel or Alyssa Milano.

I have to go with group 1 by pubic hair

Milano in her prime is a toughy but now? Well her breasts aren't hers....they are on the equivalant of Roids. So Biel by a tit (not a pubic hair....they may both be shaved and then what would we do:deal)

I meant group 1 of the men. I would favour them however there is not much in it.

In all honesty, I agree.

Calzaghe with 1 punch KO power and the same speed and workrate would annihilate anything in history.

hahaha

Seriously, no fighter would go a whole fight without getting hit at some point to the body and head with the awkward angle shots.

Then again. Pernell Whitaker with 1 punch KO power is the best, end of discussion.
