View Full Version : Hatton can not complain - It's over now surely

Hattons preperation was abysmal from the start.
1. He needs to find out who leaked the info that Floyd was getting sacked after the fight. How can he expect his trainers undivided attention in the heat of battle when the man know's he's getting sacked in an hour.
2. Why, when 18 months ago after getting knocked out by Floyd jumping in for a wild left hook has he not learnt his mistake. He hadn't learnt it against Mallignaggi. Paulie was shit and just made hatton look good and 'alas' sure enough he jumps in for a left hook and manny counters.... KD #1. Its not like he was losing, it was round 1. Why not establish a stiff jab and work on figuring out Manny's angles ??
3. Why didn't he warm up ? It was painstakingly obvious that he hadn't warmed up properly. No sweat on his face, when shadowboxing he looks sluggish and out of rythm, he wasn't making his noices like usuall either ?
4. Another thing I noticed. Surely for someone like Hatton, who's face has been known to cut up frequently.... Why was his face dry ? He had no oil or vaseline on it ? These are basics for fucks sake.
All in all this was brutal by Manny really, take nothing away from him he was good. Hatton could have lasted longer and should have if well prepared but I really believe he only brought forward the inevitable anyways. He should retire now. One fight in Manchester and call it a day.

Fight the absolute best, one of the best ever, you risk getting your arse totally whipped. That's just the way it works.

Exactly mate. Cannot begrudge him getting beat. I said to evryone and anyone who'd listen that it'd be a 9th or 11th rnd stoppage for Pac.
Fuck me though i'm still in shock at that !!!!

I think it was in the third episode of 24/7, Hatton was saying that Pac was doing the same move over and over with Roach (the one where he slips the left hook i think) and Ricky said 'if he does that he'll be on the end of a *smacks fist*'. Reminded me of the 'hope he hits me harder than he hits those fooking pads' line because I swear I saw Pac do that move in the fight.
He shouldn't have wasted his money on mayweather snr if he wasn't going to change.
Ricky's wife was looking fine

I'm still in shock dude....
If pac was going to stop him, which I thought he might, no way did I think it would be that early - or by one punch.
As you say though he had Hattons game worked our from the start, beating Hattons hook with a hook, which is something that Floyd did.

Pretty much how I saw it. I thought he'd stop him in about 9, probably on his feet.

I think I said it on here or another forum but I still think he should have retired after the Floyd fight.
He's made even more money now I guess so he wont care.

can you see him retiring on a loss though? all marquee bouts are off, he will never fight in vegas again, but he could still sell out M.E.N arena for e.g

I definitely could see him fighting again but I don't think he should.
He already had his 'goodbye to the fans' after the Mayweather fight anyway I think :?
It's time for him to retire and enjoy life.

Witter may actually be a British fighter with a World Title soon. Something that Hatton wont ever be again. Stop hating.

Witter hasn't fought the competition of Hatton, nor has he beaten anone of significant note on the World stage like Hatton has.
If he is laughing, I bet when all is said and done Hatton can laugh that bit louder.

Have to agree that Hatton can't complain and should definately call it a day.
Beat now by 2 of the "true" P4P champions.
The difference between good fighters and great fighters is the ability to adapt to your next challenge. Hatton clearly can't adapt....it's the same old, same old.
I feel for him that it ended the way it did but at least it saved getting beat up for 10 rounds.

One fight in Manchester and call it a day.Hatton wouldnt have lasted longer. Iv been watching this kid for a long time. I said Pac would finish Hatton way faster than PBF did. Not surprising really considering Hattons mediocre style and penchant for getting hit. What we saw last night was exposure. A massive humbling because a fighter who made the big time off shrewd marketting bought into his own hype. It wouldnt have mattered what trainer he had or how well his camp went. This is what happens when you fight superior fighters. Hatton got KO'ed by a former flyweight. TODAY IS A GOOD DAY! :happy

What ? Hattons not that bad ? I know he's overrated but come on he gave Mayweather a decent figtht.
Some people talk absolute shit. Who on earth in the world seriously thought he'd blow him out in 2 rounds

Hattons career will be picked apart more than ever now.
He was just never that good really was he?
He avoided Junior Witter, Chop-Chop, Judah and Mayweather earlier on while defending his WBU title and coning people into believing that he was world champion.
Never wanted no part of Cotto.
Caught Tszyu and Castillo at the right time.
Got a gift against Collazo.
Did'nt look too good in a lot of his other fight's either and fought ugly and dirty at times.
Got beaten at his own game and KTFO by Floyd.
Then got humiliated like a bum against Pacquiao.

After PBF likely beats Marquez, don't be surprised to see Hatton vs Marquez.

I hope he retires, he's had a decent enough career but obviously isn't good enough to beat the real top guys.
Of course Marquez or Khan at Wembley might be tempting for him to try and go out on a win.

Nope bang on. I claimed he'd win in the 9th or 11th. Couldn't pick 10th coz I didn't see his only 2 defeats coming in the same round against fighters ranked the same in p4p. So I made a story about the bird man entering the ring in rnd 10 ha ha. I couldn't believe my eyes in round one not one bit

Hatton should call it a day now, he been found out 2 times at the top top level, he got around £40m banked, got a wonderful family, and is a British legend. I felt so sorry for him when got laid out.
He tried his best, shame he could not pull it off.
