“He [Cro Cop] made a lot of mistakes [against Gonzaga], he did not train in the cage, he let his ego get the better of him. Usually when he returns from a defeat, Mirko is very angry and good. I am convinced that we will see a completely different Cro Cop. I must admit I can hardly wait for the fight because I think it will be his first real fight since arriving in the UFC…. I still do not know who his opponent will be if he wins against Kongo, but a fight against Randy Couture for the title is possible. Anything is possible here.”

Great news. CroCop vs. Couture would be huge and an interesting matchup. Based on how Mirko dominated Barnett and Coleman in Pride he would have a great chance to defeat Couture if they fought.Indeed but alas and yet again this depends on "which" Cro Cop turns up. If its the CC of the OWGP i dont think even Fedor could beat him.
i'm tired of hearing about the"Crocop" who showed up in this or that. His victory over Mark coleman won't be the same agianst couture.Coleman goes for leg takedowns and that's all he has CC stuffed them with ease.Barnett is a more impressive victory, but Couture could clinch and trip or clinch and press against the cage. CC has to hope he get's him coming in it's that simple.
Well, its true. When Crocop loses, he gets pissed, trains hard, and fucks up whoever is next. Just how he is, then he wins, becomes complacent and loses. Its a vicious cycle.

CC is a complex guy.He gets caught in his own arrogance and hype though. But a focused CC just like Lennox Lewis is unstoppable that much is a cert.Look what he did to Barnett and Wandy in one night. He didnt just beat them he literally pulverised them.

From the words of CC himself, "CC that you saw against Fedor was the best CC"

Fedor is not human. They call him the Russian experiment. He looks like he's falling asleep while he submits people with ease. He beats the strikers at their own game (Goodridge), out wrestles the wrestlers, heck, he even landed some vicious leg kicks on CroCop. By the way, anyone know when Fedor fights again?
hopefully he signs for a fight soon.

"A" Russian experiment. A very sucessful one.
"The" Experiment was Karelin. If Karelin switched to MMA in his early career he would mop the floor with the rest of the field. Karelin was an android.

I think you'll see handicap matches in MMA for the first time...something like 3 opponents in 1 night..unlike the early UFC..this one involes fresh opposition each and every match...
With Karelin to put it in perspective, think of a Brock Lesnar thrown around like a rag doll...thats how great he was..I think it was 3 Olympic golds in same event and 9 WC in a row...its absolutely mind boggling
12 years undefeated, 6 years without a point scored on him.

He was also a 15lb baby.So who knows the accusations of steroid abuse although unfounded may be tosh as he was clearly a big guy.I mean 6ft 2 286lbs without a shred of fat?! The man was indeed an impressive physical specimen.

I still can not believe he slipped hands against Rulon to get that point in the Sydney finals against him. Mad props to Rulon on weathering it out after that. I liked how Karelin kind of stepped back in respect in the end of the fight.

What a bullshit rule.
I dunno about steroids, a possibility but he trained like a horse. W/e he's never been caught.
