According to another websight. Who's picking who? I think early in his career fans would have overwhelmingly picked Boytsov, but he hasn't exactly looked spectacular in the last few, whereas Bidenko is indeed on a role.

Bidenko is not the best fighter around, he don't has a powerfull punch and his defence is also not good (Virchis showed that already).

I think Boytsov's workrate and power could be enough.

Nice one. Bidenko has the tools to beat Boytsov, if he uses movement and his jab. I still favour Boytsov, as Bidenko lacks ring intelligence.

UBP will set up a lot more of these "internal eliminators" in the future now that their TV contract with ZDF is definitely coming to an end in Summer 2010.

Survival of the fittest it is, losers get fired.

If Boystov fight agressive, he will win this match. If he tires to box, and not slug for most of the time, Bidenko might edge him. Intersting match, and one that will launch the winner the top 15.

Wow. Didn't expect this match-up.

I'm not going to take any punts ... just going to wait for the fight to go down.

This is a good fight. Big step up for Boystov. I hope Denis fights aggressively and looks to blast Bidenko out of there.

Im all for Bidenko, i think he will get Boystov tired in the later rounds. UD

Boytsov is going to have to be aggressive, and pressure fight him. Bidenko is not a power puncher, but he has a very nice style with some decent combinations and defensive work. He got caught by Virchis for example due to trying to do to much reflex-based head movement and not using footwork towards the end of the fight. Boytsov does not have Virchis' power, so it will be hard on him to rely on a late turn-around like that. He is going to have to get in close and give him no space, because Bidenko has the capability to outpoint him. Good fight, and first good test of whether Boytsov is for real.

Pretty good fight, I hope it's the eliminator for the mandatory position.

It's about time Bidenko gets a big fight.

I'm just surprised Universum set up Boytsov for a title run this early.

To my opinion Boytsov is the clear favourite and he will probably win. But I am waiting for the bookmakers to see their odds :D

I doubt that it is an official WBA eliminator.

As I said, there has been a press release that Universum's television contract with public broadcaster ZDF is coming to an end in 2010.

That is why they need to get rid of their average boxers by way of "stable eliminators" like this to become more attractive for commercial TV networks in Germany such as RTL or Sat.1

Yep! We will see whether Boytsov is for real or not in his upcomming fight with his stable mate Bidenko. The Ukranian for sure has the skills to outpoint the young talent from Russia and a victory for Boytsov is no sure bet at all. Well,I will bet my money on Boystov, but I am not really that sure about it!

By the way Boytsov vs Bidenko is far more promising than the main event,Braehmer vs Brancolion.

I am looking forward to watching this fight. Bidenko is more expirienced by far. He has been in some tough fights with Valuev, Virchis, Sprott, etc. The last time I watched him was against Sprott and he did not look good. It was very competitive and close fight. He is well ranked. It is a step in class for the young Boytsov. I guess the fight will go the distance and Boytsov will get the decision in a close fight.

ZDF will show the fight, right? Not only Braehmer's one.

They won't show Boytsov vs Bidenko live as it happens, no. But there'll be a tape delay of the whole fight at about 0:15 German time that night.

Boytsov and Bidenko....two friends in the ring.

I believe Bidenko is an ordinary boxer. So I have to pick: Boytsov will beat his friend in this bout. Boytsov UD.

I hope Boytsov elevates his game to another level in this fight, talent is on his side in this one fosho.

Don't really know what to expect of Bidenko, his last fights have been very underwhelming, but I heard he is back after a long layoff caused by injury. Maybe he was fighting with physical problems, which is quite usual in boxing and now is back at 100%. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Bidenko is WBA #2 for a quite a while, Boytsov is #5, this fight could be a mandatory eliminator, to insert some new blood into the WBA HW title fiasco. Meehan and Ruiz are not deserving of getting opportunities.

Ruiz situation apart, it would be really nice if the WBA would make good use of this fight and order a little tournament just like the IBF did a while ago. Bidenko vs Boytsov and Meehan vs K. Johnson, for the mandatory position. The winners meet in the final eliminator. I wish we could see more initiatives like the IBF's.
