Haven't seen any posts by Thomas the Tank Engine recently.

Would be good to hear his review of Froch-Taylor and Pacman-Hatton and also to see if he's going to be appearing at any corners some time soon.

I hear they're looking for someone with fast reflexes to prevent headgear theft in boxing crowds.

Hi folks,

Thanks for creating a thread as to my whereabouts-lol- i'm glad my opinion is valued in some quaters of ESB. The reason I have left is not specifically just because of 'Mr Plow', but because of the various idiots on here who can't argue a point without trying to use my own boxing career as a tool against me. Yes I went 9-6-1 but as I proved in my video I was a fairly talented fighter who with a bit more luck might have done a bit more. Mr plow is an alias... He stalks me and hasn't posted since I left and no doubt will pop up again once his real profile notices i've posted here. Regardless he doesn't really matter he's just someone whose clearly jealous of the attention you guys have kindly given me.

But constant petty snipes, coupled with the recent influx of what Dunky likes to refer to as 'noobs' who think they know everything already have made me think 'fuck this'.

There are some really good guys on here. Achilles is a cracking mod and very fair but I just can't be arsed getting wound up by internet tough-guys who have never achieved anything remotely close to what I have. I can argue all day about the merits or lack of them when it comes to Calzaghe but what can I say when someone says oh 'you were jealous'.... I'm wasting my time trying to debate these things with people who really don't belong on a decent boxing forum.

No doubt i'll be back and I will notify some of you as to my identity but i'd like you to keep it on the down-low so that we can stick to talking about our opinions on boxing- not some nutcases opinion on me.

All the best for now and see you soon.

And as for Plow, HOF etc.... you want to stick some 16's on anytime lets have it. Lets be men, not little scared girlies hiding behind some made up name on a forum.

Godspeed ESB.

I'm a boxing fan, who boxed professionally pretty much as a hobby. I know mate theres some very good domestic fighters there on the way up like BurnsMurray and Burns were silly gambles but I had to take them because after my two title losses I was going nowhere. I was number 9 in Britian though so that was a pretty good achievement. I wasn't even training when I fought them but I still did pretty ok. I rocked both of them... Though Billy Nelson might disagree- I def caught Ricky with a good shot in the second or third. Very proud of that in light of what Ricks done since. The Mcallister and Hardcastle losses were robberies. By the time I fought Carey and Fagan I was training myself, with no sparring- bored out of my mind- flat as a pancake- with asthma. Not a good situation to be in.

I knew I was good on the way up though because I'd always get really good reviews from the horrible guys like Steve Holdsworth and Ricky Hattons old Amateur trainer who told me after one of my am wins that it was one of the best exhibitions of boxing he'd ever seen. I was chuffed to bits.

Holdsworth said I had the potential to be a big star, and for a little while- at least locally I was. How many people can say that? I even signed autographs after a couple of my fights- lol

I wasn't to bad 46 am fights and I took 1 standing count, which I shouldn't have got and 16 pro fights with only one legit knockdown against me- against Murray who was the biggest punching lightweight -prob in Europe at the time. :good

ahh, at last, someone feels my 'noob with no respect' heartache...

To be honest though, I hope that jeff isnt using my noob analogy as n excuse to leave here for Boxrec, thinking it as a 'home' for internet posters who want to be taken more 'seriously'

Boxrec is full of those bores, guys who want to think people really take them seriously, & as jeff got himself a gig on britishboxing.net, I could see him using noobs on here as an excuse to mix with what he thinks are the ;cream' of boxing posters, only to quickly realise that the place is a fuckin bore full of personality free posters who wouldnt last a minute in this beast of a forum, & now hes having second thoughts...

Jeff is a good guy & a funny poster, but I really hope he didnt think he had 'outgrown' ESB & thats why he left for Boxrec, only to find out that the place was as much of a crypt as I always said it was...
Boxrec is a bore, ESB is where the party's at.

Jeff, do yourself a favour & come back to where the funs at. You know it makes sense.
If you decide otherwise though, feel free to sip tea with StuJones & co, & reminice inside your head about the good times you had on ESB, cos you know thats whats gonna happen...
If you decide to stay on Boxrec though, mind & close the door behind you on your way out.

Seriously though Ive not been comin on here for long but got easily got addicted.
Tried to explain this to the wife by sayin ''its like getting back in touch with an old girlfriend'' which did'nt go down too well, and now i think about it was a dickhead thing to say but i know what i meant. Anyway most people seem really knowledgable on here but i enjoy your posts because i know your knowledge is genuine and true, not just from a quick net search. You know your stuff and the banter with the disrespectful dickheads is good too.

For what its worth (and this aint me arse licking, I've never had that much interaction with Jeff, just my two penneth worth) I'll be sad to see Jeff go. What I liked about Jeff was he's one of the most knowledgeable posters on here but he doesn't give it the big I am, not once have I read him giving it the "I was a pro boxer I know more than you" stance. He's given a lot of us who are just fans some great info on what its like to be "inside" the sport. Also he comes across as a sound bloke, a great poster leaving because of some immature idiots. Also he's had a career in boxing 99.9% of people would love to have had.

Hopefully you will be back fella.

All the best with the future.

To be honest, I thought Jeff lowered himself to some of the muppetts that were trying to wind him up and it all got out of hand.
