where you keep your hands

my coach said that since i am tall and a jabber i should keep my right hand infront of my fave instead of on my chin. and my left hand like 3-4 inches infront of it instead of 2 inches infront of the face. does anyone else do this?

Kind of. My hands move around a bit, depends what I'm doing. If I'm jabbing I kind of move it forward a little bit and move my head when I jab a lot. I usually try to keep my hands up at my cheek bone or close to eye level, though, allows me to guard against everything easier for me at least. but I'm really tall for the weight.

I kinda follow the same technique I guess, with my right hand out there bout 6 inches from my face and my left hand touching my face/cheek.

Right up on my right cheek, left a few inches farther and a touch lower and more guarding my chin. Pretty much do my defense with the right and pound jabs with the left not using it nearly as much for defense.
