I think the style & condition of Jersey Joe Walcott was one that could keep a fighter in the game at an advanced age...while the style of Marciano & Joe Frazier would only be effective while the fighter was 100 % in top form and could be dangerous if the fighter slipped because the style depends so much on stamina...but on the other hand if Dempsey was more active could have fought much longer it was inactivity that hurt him, Ali could steal fights with his tricks but he started getting hit too much.......What styles do you think are the kind a fighter can take to an advanced age and why

The golden rule is that swarmers/pressure fighters don't last. I think time has born that one out.

How about Jimmy Young?

He had some sting in that right hand and would get some surprise respect in there, but that was about it. No ko's of course. His reflexes and conditioning had to be at or near 100%. Man, when he showed up with his B game against Occasio it was just a shell of the guy from just a little while earlier. And he never did regain that form. Perhaps that Bailey fight where he wasn't at 100% but still got the ko was the kiss of death for him. It was all downhill after that and it was ringsmarts that'd keep him in there.
