Don't know about you guys, but I think Chris Byrd looks off chops bigtime in the avatar of Dekkers. Random thought of the day.

Not at a low level mate. The money is pretty f*cking scarce. Still you think he could go for sponsorship or something.

Ask Ipswich Express or Gloveup. They would know. I don't have an exact idea, only that it isn't a lot. When I was training, a couple of the pros there would get maybe 3K for a fight. Not a lot considering. They were saying it depended on how many rounds the fight was scheduled for. For instance if it was a 10 round fight they might get paid $500 per round it was scheduled, so $5K. Thats what they were telling me anyway.

The problem is the trainer gets his share, and then you have to pay (from memory) for the medical and equipment as well. Throw in the costs of getting sparring partners, (depending on how serious/professional you are) and a lot of the money dwindles away quickly. Fortunately as far as tax goes you are allowed to earn so much as a hobby without it being included on your taxable income (once again what I have been told by certain fighters).

yeah and the fucken promoter takes some as well - Briggs said the first Adamek fight was worth $200,000 and he only saw about 20% of that. Poor cunt was bleeding from arsehole to breakfast and Don King takes most of the cash! :fire
