Jermaine's hand and foot speed wins this fight.
Yeah, sure that's why he "won" so impressively against Hopkins and Wright. :patsch
Pavlik is gonna expose this fraud. :nod

Seeing the Future:
KP applies an enormous amount of pressure, JT tries to avoid the pressure, except he is holding his left hand at his side, he gets caught flush with a straight right, covers up, KP follows with a right hook to the body, JT folds to his left, and then a fight ending left hook to the chin. JT doesn't even try to get up.

If Taylor doesn't keep his hands up when he is in the corner its gonna be a quick ko for Pavlik. Look for Taylors jab to come back into play in this fight because Pavlik comes to fight not run. Bottom line, if the fights stays in the center of the ring Taylor wins UD, on the ropes Pavlik wins by KO.

Jermaine's hand and foot speed wins this fight. How could you forget his jab? Pavlik's nose will be bleeding by the end of round 2.
Damn why won't this fight hurry up!? Zakman sporting a Taylor avatar courtesy of me will be a splendid sight indeed.

Does anyone remember how good Taylor was before the B-Hop fight? He was the next best thing in boxing - I picked him to beat B-Hop - even before the fight was made.
The guy has a great jab - good movement - and a good right hand - not to mention he has Manny in his corner. (now only if he would start listening to him)
Name any fighter that's still fighting that would have done better against B-Hop, Wright, Ouma, & Spinks.
Mr. Taylor shows off this fight and knocks Pavlik out. Goodbye to the Middleweight Division - Hello Super Middleweights.

Pavlik should win the first 6 rounds or so but Taylor's experience will carry him to victory. People will say Pavlik was robbed so they'll fight in a few months at 168. It's going to be close with no KDs.
Taylor must block punches with his left at some point.

Jermain Taylor hasn't looked that great against Cory Spinks, Winky Wright, and Bernard Hopkins. But then again, who has?
I'm not a Taylor fan, but I feel he has fought and beat better opposition and is looking for redemption after his poor showing against Cory.
Taylor UD.

I can't quite make up mind on this one yet. Taylor has been brought down by defensive fighters, guys with much more defensive skill than Pavlik. None of them has wanted to fight Taylor in the middle of the ring.
Win or lose, this time Jermain will get to fight his fight.
On the other hand, Taylor hasn't shown to learn much over the course of a bout. His opponent figures him out, but he doesn't do any figuring himself. I think he needs to hurt Pavlik early, or else he'll get worn down and probably stopped late.

Let´s be honest, Pavlik is an exciting fighter to watch because of his "power-style"! But the facts is he is a crude fighter with sluggish footwork, and he is still rather unproven.
Now he is up against a fighter with multiple dimensions, who has a tendency to come out on top against all kinds of styles. Can´t really see Pavlik winning this one on the scorecards. My money is on JT!
Taylor winning by UD.

I'm going to put money on Pavlik by KO.
Hopefully people keep hyping up Taylor so I'll get more money.
It might be close, but I promise, my wallet will be thicker.

If JT actually listens to Manny Steward this fight will be easy.

the one and most important indicator, to deciding the outcome of this fight for me, is taylors fight with winky..
winky, eventhough featherfisted a la ottke, was able to back up taylor, often ending up, with taylor with his back on the ropes.. thats a big no no, against pavlik.
I mostly agree with the rest of your post, but I think you're off in your interpretation here.
It appeared to me that Taylor went into the ropes voluntarily, in order to lure Winky into trading. Jermain seemed to believe (correctly) that Winky couldn't hurt him, and if he could get Winky to throw, he'd have more opportunities himself.
Of course, what Manny and everyone else saw was Taylor giving away rounds, while pounding into Wink's guard in the middle of the ring was all he needed to do to win the fight.
Taylor has backed into the ropes a lot recently, and not just against Wright.
What I hope happens, as a Taylor fan, is that Steward is able to communicate to Jermain that he'll have plenty of punching opportunities against Pavlik's weak defense no matter what he's doing, so paying attending to defense and not getting wild can carry him to victory.

I wouldn't expect it to be easy, but Taylor should win a style matchup such as this. The problem is that he's fallen short of expectations in every fight since winning the belts, and for that reason it's difficult to predict how he'll perform.

I should've said much easier than it will be if he continues to IGNORE Manny.

I don't give a fuck what anybody says.
It ain't about who you like and who you don't.
Shit, if I think it's a bad style matchup for Berto, I'm betting against him.
Pavlik is the bet in this one, but ya'll keep on hypin Taylor.

He doesn't excactly ignore Manny, he just can't take insctruction that well either because he gets too flustered in there, or because he's just a limited fighter.I feel you but sometimes it looks like he literally ignores Manny. He definitely gets frustrated though.

To me, it seems like Taylor panics for no reason, making it difficult for him concentrate and carry out orders. He had some rounds against Winky when he looked relaxed, and in those rounds he dominated.
But when he gets hit or is having trouble finding his opponent, he seems to have trouble staying on task. He got wild against Ouma and was too restrained against Spinks. And when he was hurt by Hopkins, he turned very skittish.
I don't doubt Jermain's heart, but I think his emotions sometimes get in the way.

Foot speed? Taylor couldn't outbox a blind bum with a peg leg. The idiot backs himself up voluntarily wihen the slightest amount of pressure is brought his way. If Taylor does win this he's going to have to fight, and probably fight his way off the ropes the majority of the fight. I'm going with Pavlik by KO but I see this as a fairly evenly contested fight because both guys have flaws that the other can exploit.
If Taylor backs into the ropes repeatedly, he's probably going to get stopped. Pavlik can be opened up at range by a faster guy like Taylor, and Jermain theoretically should be able to use his feet to create angles and stay out of harm's way.
Will he actually do this, though?

I am not totally sold on Pavlik just yet. Taylor really needs to impress me to think differently of him.
I think that Pavlik have a good range of punches, great power, and pretty good ring generalship. Regardless this will be Pavliks toughest fight, but he will get my vote.

Pavlik will bring out the best in Taylor. No doubt it will be a reasonably close affair. I'm not too sure this fight will be a stoppage. Points.

Taylor/Pavlik thoughts
This is a 50/50 fight and can go eitherway.
Pavlik will go in and push Taylor back and Taylor with his hands speed will try to throw punches while backing up. It's gonna be a total punching war.
The first fighter who gets hurt, loses. Of course everybody knows I'm picking Taylor.
