If Gatti Had beaten Manfredy he woulda faced Mayweather now this version of Gatti Hadnt had the wars with Ivan Robinson,Mickey Ward and beaten to a bloody pulp by Oscar,Mayweather not as seasoned tho i still think he would of won but would it have been closer.

It would've been closer, meaning Gatti might last a couple more rounds and suffer maybe only one 10-8 round.

Gatti against Mayweather (or DLH) at a different weight class ends up in the same result.

Gatti takes a brutal beating and loses every round.

A "fresher" Gatti still avoids a straight right hand as well as Lindsay Lohan avoids cocaine.

Mayweather in 1998 completely dominated two superior fighters in Angel Manfredy and Genaro Hernandez.

And Gatti was weak @ 135 in 1998. That was the worst year of his career unless maybe you count this year.

Gatti gets annihilated and used as a punching bag. If he tries to wing those hooks then Mayweather would tear him up the middle with straight shots.

Personally, I believe a fresher version at 135 pounds would have lost a close desicion to Floyd. It would have gone all twelve but Floyd's superior boxing skills would lead him to UD victory...

What is Gatti going to do to make this close and competitive?

Box with Mayweather?

Brawl and wing hooks? He'll get torn down the middle against the quicker and sharper Mayweather.

Mayweather is miles better than Ivan Robinson and Angel Manfredy.

The guys who made it close or at least competitive with Mayweather were:

Jose Luis Castillo, a much better pressure fighter than Gatti, who throws shorter punches, uses his body better to be physical, and is way more educated on the inside than Gatti.

Zab Judah: a lightning fast southpaw who was even quicker of hand than Mayweather.

Oscar De La Hoya: A bigger, taller guy with a terrific jab and MUUCCHH better skills, particularly of defense with his parrying ability, than Gatti.

PBF will win...because he's faster and stronger puncher @ 135-140
he will definitely put a clinic.

Gatti fought @ 135 in 1998.

Which actually makes it even worse for Gatti.

In 1998 at 135, Gatti was 0-3.

I find it absolutely    :rofl :rofl :rofl when PBF fans keep bringing up Gatti in relevance to Hatton.

Muthacruncha's PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hatton aint no Gatti, doesnt fight like Gatti, and would likely have taken Gatti out just as fast or faster at 140 his damn self.

PBF vs Hatton is not, will not resemble PBF vs Gatti:nono

Exactly, Hatton will put up a much better fight than Gatti. Gatti is no Ricky Hatton.

[quote=jdp000109]Lmao why do people keep trying to come up with scenario's in which Gatti would win?

Ok, Gatti's never been in no wars [quote]

OK, im not a fan of gatti. But you cant say that the man hasnt been in any wars. Ward VS Gatti 1&3 were wars. ANd he was in a 'war' with osar. If you count being bloodied to a pulp and barely hitting youre target a war.

Its been said in several threads other than this one and I find it a little coincidental that we're even discussing anything Pbf vs Gatti like right now. Maybe I'm jumping the gun a little but believe that shit is on the minds of Floyd fans like it's relevant.

I will say "on specific topic" that Gatti would get destroyed by Floyd anytime and everytime, just like DLH did. Gatti's a brawler, period. He lost to Manfredy and Robinson twice.

Nothing against arturo, I'll gladly watch the Gatti vs Ward fights, and remember both as warriors. Just not elite level BOXERS.

A fresher Gatti makes the fight closer than the fight two years ago. All those rings wars damaged Gatti while Pretty boy was 10 times fresher and no wear and tear. That's just my opinion.

mayweather could be 40 fighting a 20 yr gatti and the same thing would happen.it was not about prime or old or young, is about the skill level.and pbf was to fast and just to damn good for gatti.back then back now, back n fourth and any other way you want to look at it.

then fight 100 times pbf would win 110 times.

The Gatti that showed up against Mayweather was like the Morales that showed up against Pac in the rematch.

They weren't the same fighters they used to be. Not shot, but well on the way.

A younger Gatti would have landed some punches on Mayweather but it wouldnt have mattered. He'd still have gone down in the later rounds.

That said, Gatti looked awful in the mayweather fight. He not only looked shot in my eyes, but looked tentative and out of shape.
