Mormeck has confirmed he will fight at heavy but he still does not want to give the name of an opponent. He should fight on july though.
Carlos Takam (18-0-0 14ko) will fight Greg Tony (10-0-0 9ko) on june 27th. Greg Tony comes from the kickboxing scene and he is the current french HW champ. Recently Haye's team chose him as a sparring partner for the preparation of the Klitschko fight. Takam is from Cameroon but he has done his whole career in France.
Johann Duhaupas (19-1-0 11ko) wrote he is interested in a fight against Greg Tony for the french title on a french forum. Duhaupas is a decent boxer who lost on points against the EBU-EU champion Pianeta. He just beat a very big and static russian HW Orlov (9-5-1 6ko) this week-end.
On the same card Jerome Le Banner (5-0-0 4ko) who was better known as a K1 fighter stopped Werner Kreiskott (4-12-1 3ko) in 4 rounds. It can be noticed that Don Turner (Holyfield's coach for the Tyson fights) was Le Banner's trainer for this fight.
Traditionnaly Acaries had considered the HW div was too big a business for him. His influence has decreased and now there is a small HW scene in France.
Duhaupas fought a ridiculous fight yesterday.
He was facing Russian Orlov, who was big, but also slow, fat and very limited.
He kept running away from Orlov, who very much wanted to fight.
Orlov was also bit of a dirty fighter, got deducted several points.
In my eyes, the fight was very close, but obviously Duhaupas deserved to win due to deductions, if nothing else.
He won all or all except one round on all cards... not that I wouldn´t know what "hometown decision" means, but Duhaupas was really bad. I mean, if he can´t crush or atleast solidly drive back a random goljat like Orlov, how could he mix it with the european top? He looked like he didn´t bother to make a statement at all, he just relied on judges and counterpunched Orlov occasionally.

Styles make fight, Duhaupas had everything to lose against that guy and he didn't want to take any risks. I don't think this fight means much since he had shown some decent skills against Pianeta who is a far better boxer than Orlov imo. Anyway Duhaupas never said he is ready to fight top euro boxers. He took the EBU-EU chance as an opportunity to improve but he has to prove himself at national level first. French HW title seems a good challenge for him...

Duhaupas showed a very courageous performance against Pianeta.True! He looked a little bit skinny though.Cant really see him winning any big fight against a truly big boy.
As for his fight with Orlov I havent seen it,but it is bloody difficult to look good against Valuev's bad copy anyway!
Orlov is a stiff behemoth who seems to be a great fan of wrestling.
A true pain to watch in a box ring he is!

Yes I know there are not many good french HW, not so many big guys in France in fact ! But it's also a problem of €€€. French promoters have never been powerful enough to compete on the HW scene, Acaries has always considered it was too big a business for him. A guy like Le Banner was good in K1, he would have probably be a decent euro level boxer if he had found a financial interest...
About Mormeck Canal+ is not interested in his challenge at HW. I can understand they would prefer him to fight for a title at CW of course. An admin of netboxe (I was on the old forum of this site yal) wrote he asked for videos of Adamek fights...

You saying good Fitir, some of french promoters must take more in boxing show if they want to take Germany and English level.
For example Germany dident have good boxers, but in the last 20 years give a lot money in this industry,,,

This thread has demonstrated some astute logical thinking...
Anyway, I think George Carpentier's achievement of moving through multiple weight classes was very impressive. And considering Dempsey is one of the greatest of all time, it hardly discredits a fighter to lose to him!

Cruiserweight Steve Herelius (18-1-1, 11 KOs) beat Jean-Marc Monrose (24-4, 15 KOs) again on Saturday night, getting a sixth round technical decision in a bout for the vacant WBA intercontinental belt in Le Cannet, France. Monrose was cut over both eyes by accidental headbutts forcing the bout to be sent to the scorecards where Herelius prevailed 59-55, 59-55, 58-56. It was the third straight loss for former highly regarded ex-European champion Monrose, whom Herelius also outpointed back in March.
