McDermott would be the call i think. Decent domestic fighter who's been shown to be just shy of domestic champion level.

Konstantin Airich maybe?

It's going to be tough matching him up and keeping him progressing. maybe Henesey should be looking to get some American guys in.

sprott next would be a good step up.

Sprott would be too soon imo.As good as Furys looked hes yet to show how good he is backed up or how he reacts to taking a solid hit on the button,These questions need answering before stepping up against the likes of Skelton.Guys like Chisora,Rogan and Sexton should provide the answer to them questions.

They are all a bit soon. McDermott in an eight rounder would be a good move.

I'd like to see him face someone like Sprott but over 8 rounds. He hasn't gone many rounds and he is only 6-0.

David Price... they look evenly matched though Fury is further ahead of him in the pro ranks, there's a nice bit of needle there as well.

I would let the rivalry build there

Chisora

Williams...

He's ready. Already!!!

Fury v Price could be a nice big British v Commonwealth fight if they are good enough to beat the rest of the Brits. The British domestic scene is packed. You'll have to be half decent to be on top.

Get him in with some experineced journeymen who'll give him rounds.

Robert Hawkins, Cisse Salif, Julius Long, Tomas Bonin etc.

Willie Chapman
Michael Sprott

What about Audley Harrison?

Big John Mcdermott who has fallen short of British class would be my choice, should take him a few rounds.
Then Chisora would be a good fight but i don`t think he wants to fight to Tyson,if not he could fight sprott in a ten rounder if he wins that he would be ready to fight for the British title.Sprott would be a dangerous fight and we would know how good Tysons chin is.

McDermott first. When he destroys that fat mess he'll prove he's ready to go for the British title even with so few fights. And McDermott ain't really a threat, he's not a puncher and he's very timid so I'd have no worries as his promoter.

Then he can fight Williams/Chisora.

I don't really see the point of hanging around fighting bums.

Robert Hawkins, Cisse Salif, Julius Long, Tomas Bonin etc.

Good choices, should fight someone from the states or europe who has a proven record of taking prospects into the later rounds.

Ron Guerrero, Zuri Lawrence and Jason Gavern too. Bonin and Fabio Moli bring good records and would flop over after a couple of rounds, might help build his confidense.

Anyone who hasn't been selected from a Pikey trailer park, which is where has last opponents have been from.

I wouldn't call Bonin a tough journeyman. He fell over from a jab against Haye.

I wouldn't call Bonin a tough journeyman. He fell over from a jab against Haye.

That was because he was facing the Hayematrix :yep:lol:

Let's see how Fury would do against him.

TFFP
05-25-2009, 09:19 AM
If he's falling over against Haye's jab I wouldn't be too optimistic when Fury unleashes the full sink on him. But ya never know I suppose...

The thing is guys like Cisse Salif and Zuri Lawrence are probably better than John McDermott.

ishy
05-25-2009, 09:21 AM
Didn't Bonin take that Polish HW prospect 10 rounds? Audley didn't get rid of him till something like the 9th. I think Fury would blow Bonin out in 3 or so rounds but it'd be a good measuring stick to show how good he is.

Yeah, Big Bad John is pretty shite, imagine if he won the British title :patsch.
These journeymen types would give Fury a harder fight.

I'd get more rounds in before Zuri maybe an 8 rounder

Chisora, McDermott, Audley. One or two of them three then go on to Skelton, Williams, Rogan and Sexton. No point in hanging around, he might aswell clear out the domestic scene.

In truth Tyson has only had 6 fights, don't know how much rounds in that but would only say about 10. I would love for him to fight Harrison/Sprott next but after 10 rounds is he really ready for that.
Put him in against Bonin then Lawrence then Harrison/Sprott.

probs audley, big john or sprott....saying that, chisora would be best bet for me,but chisora is running scared!

05-25-2009, 10:17 AM
Yep, Audley Harrison, Price, Chisora.

I know I may be jumping the gun but I'd like to see him thrown right in with someone like Valuev, just to see how he handled it.

TFFP
05-25-2009, 11:37 AM
He could probably beat Valuev as long as he's good for 12 rounds. As it is thats still a big questionmark...so he needs a sensible progression of opponents that are actually likely to last 8 then 10 rounds.

I think Scott Gammer would be a interesting fight.

Fury would take him within 4 and it would be a decent domestic name on his record.

Lewisbell
05-25-2009, 01:01 PM
I suggested 3 names earlier

Cengiz Koc 24-3 (15ko), tough never been stopped, but tiny only 6'1 dropped an SD to Sprott lost convincingly against Vidoz and Hoffmann

Fernely Feliz (23-9)16kos, Dominican jorneyman who goes up against alot of European prospects; Dimitrenko, Bidenko and Boystov

Gbenga Oloukun 16-1 German based nigerian was one of Sauerlands propects i believe, until he got brutally KOd by a sweet body shot

Sprott, Harrison or McDermott next

Scott Gammer or John McDermott next then Michael Sprott in a couple of fights. And hopefully beat Chisora sometime soon.

Sprott i think would be a good measuring stick,as i f you look at fury its hard to gauge how far he has come,as his opponents seem to get blown out water pretty quickly.

another fight i think would be fraudly, hes not fought for a while so this would be another good measureing stick

Exactly, he clears those up with the trash and then can move onto the European and worlds. Good choices.

What about Tye Fields next.. Tyson has a fight in a month and I think Tye Fields would be a decent test and would show the americans Tyson isn't just a hype...

Someone capable of taking him the distance!

To be fair though, he has beaten guys in his first six fights that aren't usually high on the list of potential opponents for a prospect at this stage.

You can't complain, six fights, six wins, six KO's.
