This is a huge fight for both Geale and Mundine.....I for one think its going to be a *******
If Geale wins he becomes the new hero of Aussie sport...he will be on every news and sports addition for days and then his next moves will become big news. Not to mention beating Mundine should attract some bigger names OS.
For Mundine its not as sweet as most of Aust expect him to win.....if he does then its a good warm up fight for maybe Sturm or Pavlik.....I still don't see Mundine going to LHW and Green inside 12 months.
So even though the IBO world title is not the ducks nuts....do you guys see the winner getting a shot at another title holder at MW in the next 6 months?

If Geale wins (i don't think he will) then he gets beaten quite easily by the other world champions in Pavlik, Abraham, Sturm and by stoppage imo. If Anthony wins he definately won't challenge Abraham or Pavlik and i would doubt that he would want any part of Sturm either because Anthony will crap on that he is a 3 time 2weight world champ and the other champs are running from him etc etc etc.

IF Geales manages a win.... a big IF.. He'll have a better purpose for taking O/S fights.
His financial rewards so far?? A guess being little more the $1.2 Million.... if that! ( I have no idea of the earnings made by Geale..) He'd have a better name against his record should he win. The doors might open... although, his name will remain a difficult task for O/S promtors looking to make $$$$. Future earning will be greater than now IMO.
Mundine.... who gives a fuck. He should win comfortably. His future $$$$ are cemented for another couple of years via KhoderPizzaCook.
Who knows what their plans are???????? All talk of fights at M/W... All talk of Green II at L/HW..

What ? I would be shocked if Geale has earned any more than about $200,000 in his whole career. He has fought no one at all untill tomorrow night. I have no idea where you get a figure like 1.2 million.

I read somewhere that Geale is getting 200 grand for this fight.
Winner gets a shot at one of the big boys, but only Geale takes it.

Geale earning over a mill seems a bit much...but I know the Grange boys look after him. Headlining a few of their cards would have paid the bills for sure.

Yeah I thought it was about $250,000
In the end Geale will end up with under 10% split
One would think its a $2,500,000 plus fight
8,000 paying at the gate average $90....= $720,000
30,000 ppv @ $50..............................= $1,500,000
Sponsors..........................................= $100,000
Pubs 150 x $2,500.............................= $375,000
Total = $2,695,000

A GEALE win should be at least a minor overseas door-opener for him, and lead to better paying overseas fights. Geale hasn't done a lot wrong yet and has the advantage of his long amateur career behind him (he's got a lot more ring experience than just his 21 pro fights). Big prospect, particularly if he can add Mundine to his win column.
A MUNDINE loss would IMO mean eating his way back to light heavy, making some serious one night stand $$$ with Danny Green and hanging them up - that's how much the Geale fight matters in the scheme of things to Mundine's future directions IMO....quite litterally only one punch from disaster!
The alternate result, eg a MUNDINE win and a GEALE loss doesn't change much for either fighter from where they are now. For Mundine it means stay in the division and hopefully seek top overseas opponents (where he is, or should be pre-Geale). For Geale it just removes the 0 in his losses column.

....I might add that a Geale win, followed by a Mundine loss in Green vs Mundine II, would certainly lead to a Green vs Mundine III !
You are all wrong :lol:
A Mundine win means nothing, he goes on his merry way doing what he's told.
A Geale win means a Mundine rematch :deal

Heres a more accurate account
5000 Gate $90.......................................$450k
20000 PPV $49.95 50/50..........................$499.5K
Sponsors...............................................$100k
189 Pubs and Clubs x $2.5k 50/50..............$236.25K
Sub total - $150k Expenses
Total = $1,135,750 if that....
Factored in free seats at venue plus splits with PPV given its 50/50

Why? What's in that for Mundine?
A second loss to Geale, and on the world stage he's off the radar! He'd then only have the Green pension payment to collect, followed by retirement.
No point even trying to claim he's The Man anymore if Geale cleans him up in straight sets!

Where would Geale head to after a win here????
What does the US have to offer over Europe.
Geale is a very busy technically correct fighter, I can see him building some strong and lucrative ties in Europe.
Does anyone have an insight into a Geale plan post Mundine win??

Mundine gets 60%.....and I dont mind your version....even though its a bit shy. SBW has a big hate base now so that makes a lot of haters looking for a win :hey

2/3 at best, maybe a half.
But tell me what your facts are?

I was always talking gross numbers mate......Mundine/ Boxa is the promoter as well...how about we start with taking off the staff costs, gym fees, air fairs, hotel accom, Yodas cab fairs and Mundine choc shakes at maccas...then we will get the right numbers :patsch
