View Full Version : Compare Sturm-Pittman and Mundine-Geale

Can you look at these 2 fights to decide how tonight is going to go? I think sturm is better than mundine and geale better than pittman. Still a big step up for geale like it was for pittman.

Thoughts?

I think Geale and Pitman are about even, Sturm is way better than Choc.

I agree that at 160 Sturm is much better than Mundine but Geale is also better than Pittman imo.

Sturm was far more proven middleweight...he gave Pitty a lesson in proboxing that night, working the body, fucking up his eye and mowing him down. Pittman, you can see why he was an excellent amateur but that night showed he has a lot to learn about the pro game.

Mundine has fought once at this weight..and against a wash up jesus loving cokehead.
Dan is more prepared for this bout then pitty was for his...been at the weight longer, banked some good rounds against more proven opponents.

It is a step up for Dan but Pittman went from fighting domestic level comp to fighting a guy who had been a titlist for the best part of half a decade..Dan has been fighting slightly better then domestic comp and is facing a guy who hasnt faced anyone decent in yonks.

Yes he is.

Name the areas in boxing Sturm is better than Mundine. He's not quicker, he's not stronger, he doesnt have better footwork, he doesnt have the broader range of punches, he hasnt been in with better fighters...and so on.

We cant tell for sure but that's my 2 pennies worth.

If we are talking about 160 then -

Sturm is stronger
Sturm is technically better
Sturm possibly has the better chin
Sturm is younger
Anthony is athletically better
Anthony is quicker
Anthony has been in with better fighters but lost to those better fighters. ( Sturm beat De La Hoya 100%)

I would really love to see this matchup.It would be a genuine 50-50 close fight but i believe at 160 in 2009 Sturm wins.

Thats ridiculous because there is a chance they may fight so we need to discuss the fight in 2009 not 2005/2006.

Agree Sturm will beat Mandy, he's simplier a more polished pro fighter than mandy even though both feed off a lot of tomato cans as opponents. And yes he deserved the nod against the golden boy but unfortunately for him the oscar/bhop sign was already signed.
