telecast begins in about 20 minutes

i've good Berto winning comfortabily against urango who is really made for him and made hatton look like willie pep for the first half of their fight

cintron outboxes angulo who is just a slower poor mans margarito without the plasters

p.s i would advise you not to read this thread if you haven't already seen berto vs urango and waiting for it on sky tonight

Not sure about Angulo Cintron, but expect Berto to be able to show off his boxing skills against Urango who is pretty slow and moving up in weight.

Decent start to Angulo Cintron

Round one to angulo for me.

Cintron trying to keep fight in centre of ring but caught with good straight right counters from Angulo.

GazOC

Cintrons getting clipped by those right crosses already.

To be honest just want to see a KO, good to see the Brit forum out in force for this fight!Nice stuff!

Mandanda

Angulo walking Cintron down in round two he caught him with some sharp right hands and a few decent body shots.

Cintron wilts a little maybe a sign of him feeling the Angulo pressure. Cintron started to look to counter towards end of round.

2-1 cintron right now, angulo got to throw more.

Kid Lucky

Cintron looks a bit gun shy. Didn't he use to be right hand happy? Ain't thrown it much at all here.

Mandanda

Round 3 to Cintron.

Stayed in centre of ring there and showed his boxing skills landing some big shots and good combination's. He's landing at will on Angulo who's becoming rather one dimensional in my opinion just walking in on train tracks and throwing slow prodding jab.

Carnage

3-1, cintron, angulo rocked, bit of a suprise!

Angulo takes far too much leather. Good thing his chin seems to be solid.

Round 4 to Cintron

Cintron is settling and enjoying the job at the moment. Working well from long to mid range and showed some nice defence in the pocket, Ronnie Shields has done a good job with Cintron for this fight.

Mandanda
05-30-2009, 11:22 PM
Angulo's lack of speed with hand and foot is now being exposed he has to see this storm out and try take Cintron into deep waters and keep pressure on.

slip&counter
05-30-2009, 11:23 PM
can't believe it

first round to angulo and its been cintron since, angulo just walking into punches and hurt in the 4th, cintron boxing well

3-1 cintron

Carnage

4-2 cintron, feels like cintron can run away with it if he wants

Grievesy
05-30-2009, 11:27 PM
:rofl:rofl 68 punches landed on Angulo's chin.

cintron tiring slightly, but still bossing it frustrating angulo a closer round but better shots by cintron who's working the jab brilliently to keep angulo off then setting him up for a decent uppercut

4-2 cintron

slip&counter
05-30-2009, 11:32 PM
only a matter of time before angulo makes cintron beat the canvas in agony....not!

Mandanda
05-30-2009, 11:32 PM
I think Angulo when he up's the attack speed and hunts with intent worries Cintron bigtime. When Angulo lets his hands go he does ok but he is wide open and Cintron is catching him each time. Angulo needs to get close and stay close.

slip&counter
05-30-2009, 11:36 PM
maybe signs of angulo coming back, still getting outboxed and the guy is so open but hurt cintron in that round still cintron round though

5-2

Grievesy
05-30-2009, 11:39 PM
Looks to me like Cintron is starting to wince and turn away when hit. Angulo is steadily getting back into this fight.

Mandanda
05-30-2009, 11:40 PM
Cintron looks like he is feeling pace, Maybe Angulo's walk forward eat punches all night and keep coming tactics are working.

Cintron can't afford to lose these rounds it won't look good he needs to bag at least two to make sure of it.

slip&counter
05-30-2009, 11:42 PM
difficult round to score the 8th cintron not moving as much and getting hit plenty but coming back to match anything angulo throws, i'll give it to angulo

5-3

Mandanda

I'm seeing more and more signs that Cintron may fold at drop of a hat he looks uncertain and tired. Angulo's coming stronger now he knows he needs big rounds!!!

slip&counter
05-30-2009, 11:47 PM
just when you think angulo is coming into and cintron is gassing, cintron rediscovers his jab and movement and back in control

6-4 cintron

slip&counter
05-30-2009, 11:50 PM
angulo needs a KO otherwise cintron winning a big decision

7-4

Mandanda
05-30-2009, 11:53 PM
I scored it 115-113 Cintron

Wouldn't be surprised to see Angulo get a draw or a win just judging by way ref way wanted to deduct point for holding.

Cintron boxed well but looked leggy towards end.

Mandanda

great round 12 angulo throwing everything at it his corner telling him to go for kill, cintron staggered and hurt to the body but stays composed to win even though angulo takes the round to little to late

7-5 maybe slightly generous to angulo

Cintron showed some nice skills but he is there for taking. Angulo i wasn't overly keen on before he fails to cut ring off he rely's on heart and pressure.

He may use excuse of the cold and having poor build up on performance but i felt Angulo was going to get exposed like that if he kept doing that ''leather munching '' tactic and he finally met someone who had a plan and stuck to it.

TommyV

I had it 9-3 and I hate Cintron. Angulo got tagged far too often and never made any attempt to go to the body. The fact he kept switching stance showed how clueless he was in breaking that fagget down.

I'm off anyway can't be botherd to stay up for Berto-Urango, I'll catch the result and then a download tomorrow morning. Take it easy lads.

credit to cintron who boxed well behind the jab and didn't get flustered, but it was there for the taking for angulo and rarely went to the body just headhunting and walking into punches all night, should've been doing in the first what he did in the last

lets not forget cintrons only loses are to margacheato

Yeah i see what your saying although Martinez really was a defeat.

He boxed well but i can see him getting beat down the line but i can see him picking up a belt in the Light Middleweight Division as it isn't overly stacked.

Mandanda

This could be a good fight. Interesting to see Urango at Welterweight will he be as intimidating as he was at Light Welterweight physically or will he get out boxed by Berto???

Christ!!! Urango is still a big lump at 147!!

He Sure Is.

His main Weapon will be a counter right hook when Berto comes in with his left hook he can throw it inside and land and hurt Berto.

For all Berto's flasyness he makes simple mistakes as Lennox is highlighting.

Yeah it's true.

Berto could fight this fight more effectively but looks like him and trainer are bit scared of Urango. Urango looks the part but he leaves a lot to be desired. Every time i see him he dissapoints me first time in the Ben Rabah fight i thought he lost and Hatton he was poor.

Ngudjo shocked me how dominant he was but tonight he's back to walking forward and doing hardly any effective work.

Mandanda
05-31-2009, 12:49 AM
Evangilista Cotto said Urango was going to jab the guys not done any of that. Urango was told to uppercut and work when inside he's done none of that. Berto is showing me that he is a decent champion for his age but not ready for Cotto,Clottey and Mosley.

To think that Chad Dawson fought in my opinion ok on his HBO Debut in a rematch which was never going to be easy or a thriller. He got stick off HBO they didn't seem overly impressed yet tonight they've been on Berto's nuts for a perfromance like that.

Exactly. Berto is not going to get a big money fight any time soon. He needs to rematch Collazo.

good point, chad is one of the most rounded fighters and it was never gonna be his coming out party against a vet like tarver who knows how to survive good to see him rematch johnson though

berto needs a lot of work, for them to try and thrust him into among the big players at 147 is ludicrous. cotto, mosley, paul williams, mayweather, clottey would all destroy him i'd even say collazo would beat in a rematch, the kid is still green but won't have time to grow if they keep telling him he has to fight the best right now

Berto could do with another fight or two before mixing it with the elite but considering he was an amateur at the same olympics as Khan he seems to be so much further ahead than Amir careerwise. Just goes to show how bad the hype machine in the UK is.

Farmboxer
05-31-2009, 03:28 AM
Berto has zero chance vs. Cotto, Mayweather, Pac, Mosely, etc., Collazo beat the crap out of him last time. If they fight again, Collazo would stop him. Berto holds the entire fight.

TFFP
05-31-2009, 07:40 AM
I was absolutely disgusted with Andre Berto. He hinted he was capable of this in the Collazo fight, but he went and took it to a whole new level and is now one of my most disliked fighters.

Ruiz...Hatton...Berto. Looks like we've a new generation of boring fuck.

slip&counter
05-31-2009, 04:56 PM
Kerminator, we must remember that berto is much more older and mature then Amir, don't forget khan was only 17 in those olympics. Berto also has been managed much better and that strap he picked up was vacant, while khans KO was one of the biggest mishaps in British boxing history by ******

Cintron fight was OK but the Berto-Urango affair was quite dull
