View Full Version : Khan dominates Rasha Holloway in sparring

Taken from the scene of boxing:

Conditioning expert Alex Ariza told us “Amir looks great. This kid is ready to fight Its like Manny after he fought Oscar De La Hoya. He had so much confidence when he stepped into the ring” against Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton.
Ariza noted Amir Khan is much the same after beating Barrera saying “ he’s got this whole different attitude.”
Ariza revealed that Khan “ dominates Rashad Holloway” the sparring partner of Pacquiao so much that trainer Freddie Roach had to get two new sparring partners including an African boxer with a 14-0 record. He said Holloway weighs 160 and “cannot deal with Amir.” Ariza said that when Khan spars Freddie “ puts him (Holloway) in last and he still can’t deal with him.”

I think fighters have to earn support. And khan hasn't done much to earn any support imo. I wont be wasting any money on this one.

He earned our support after the way he came back from the Prescott fight. I am sure most people who support him on here (including me) took great pleasure in his knockout to Prescott.

He should of earned your support by going to the Olympics at 17 and coming away with a silver medal you ungrateful cunt. Of course he deserves our support. Good luck to him and I'm confident he can win.

Well they are not going to say "Oh, Amir gets hammered in sparring, he can't deal with the guys he's sparring!"

It matters on the night, in the ring, not in sparring. People try to draw too many conclusions from sparring!

Not that I disagree with the sentiments Tommy but why should he be "grateful" that Khan won a silver medal , did he give it to the guy ? :think

A fighter fights for himself (and his family) this idea that Khan (or any other boxer) is fighting for his country or whatever is bunkum of the highest !

Anyhoo , just something irks me a little otherwise you go get them kid !

Thats probably the best post i have seen regarding the contempt and shit that Khan gets day in day out here.

Best thing of all its just like the Eubank scenario, the haters love him.

Good post.

His reply was to someone that said earned "our" support.

Not sure HH

What I thought Tommy was saying was that the dude should be grateful to Amir for winning a medal while representing the UK as if somehow a fighter ( or any sportsman ) truly thinks like that. Top athletes are incredibly self centred , they have to be , and to suggest that an olympic medalist is really thinking " I'm doing this for the folks back home ! " is a bit niave.

And to be honest even if he was ( which he wasnt lol ) unless Rangersfan had asked Amir to go and win a medal for us , he still technically didnt owe him any gratitude. I'm getting into semantics now but you know what I mean.

This site is bad for breeding this attitdue of boxers representing something when in fact they are the most self focused amongst us.

You should give Khan you're backing if you like him as a fighter or I suppose as a person but this backing him because hes brittish or becasue he won a medal while in a uk bib aint what prize fighting is about.

What absolute twaddle. What the hell does he have to be grateful for, 'he earned us a medal'? Who the hell is 'us'? Khan doesn't "deserve" support any more than anybody else in boxing. Do you speak out for DeGale in the same way, or Audley Harrison?
It doesn't matter if Khan is Bitish or not, or if he won a medal or not, that doesn't mean he "deserves" anything from any of us.

How many times have we heard the "talk" before...it's what happens on the night that matters.

Good luck to Amir who has just about every tool in the box EXCEPT one...his chin...and this is a step up & a genuine title fight and kotelnik may well test his chin.

You're wrong. The reason he's disliked is because he hasn't earned his stripes, he's on ppv, he's getting a world title shot and he's fought........who? Gomez? Limmond? Wow! he's achieved loads more than Hatton and Calzaghe! :patsch

wtf? the ignorance which comes from some khan fans only succeeds in fuelling the hate. achieved more than hatton and calzaghe indeed :patsch

i personally don't hate khan, and think he's got balls for taking this fight for with very little preperation from his previous fights (i.e. going from fighting blown up featherweights to fighting a genuine light welterweight)

I'd take option 1. and everybody would hate me for it because nobody likes protected hype jobs who skip all challenges, drag up midgets to fight from featherweight and then get an automatic title shot for doing fuck all.

Say all that you said is true, then Kotelnik is a good step up in class, and weight and is no blown up feather he is a real light welter that's like Khan fighting a guy 2 weights up from MAB. So if Khan beats him then what will you say?.

I understand where you are coming from, the fact is ****** has guided Khan though his career, and i dont think Khan has had much say in it. Khan has said it a lot of times that he would of fought Murray and Thaxton but deals could not be made, Khan has heart we have even seen that in the ring i dont think he is the ducking type.
