It's obvious. Dean Powell has had a few weeks to analyse Hatton and he's now entered the Frank ****** chart of satisfactory risk.

If anything should tell Hatton its time to retire its that statement there!!!:good

Khan: ''Stepping up from lightweight to light-welterweight, I'm going to be a lot stronger, making the weight a lot easier, and holding my power."
Does this statement mean he knew he was draining himslef at 135 which effects your power?, and knew 140 was more his natural weight?
Frank knew this aswell but because of Khan's weak chin he kept him at 135 so he could feed him blown up 130 fighters, and that is the cold hard truth i feel.

If this has been a deliberate statement put out there on advice of ****** or his training camp then it could tell us what we probably already know about Hatton.

An act of cowardice, going after clearly damaged goods. In the Guardian he has the temerity to then say in a few fights time he'll be looking at going after Mayweather and Marquez level fighters

Khan will get stopped.
He couldn't handle Michael Gomez, he has no chance against Hatton.

I hope Khan hasnt been quoted saying this and its just been said by managers etc, cause that would be utter bullshit and a self-low blow to Khans rep, not only will he be hated even more by british fans, but he will be noted for saying he doesnt want to fight Hatton cause hes a friend and would rather have him in the corner, then Rickys KO'd in 2 and he wants a fight with him, this is a very very stupid move, not just in terms of a fight, but for Khans own reputation, this U-Turn move is pathetic.

Actually, on On The Grind radio he said he coulld be looking at those sorts of fighters depending on how he progresses. But he's not stupid, he said why would he want to take on a Pacquiao or Mayweather or Marquez when they are P4P fighters at the top of their game and he's still not primed. He said let me hit my prime first whenever it is and then he'll think about fighting them.

Frankly who care. Khan is young and talks first without even thinking for a moment about what he's saying.

roughly translated: I'll fight them when they're pushing 40. It's ridiculous that he should be even mentioned in the same breath as Mayweather or Pac or Marquez. He hasn't even fought a European class lightweight yet. This Kotelnik fight will tell us a lot. I'm skeptical.

Me and you both. Khan isnt in the class of Witter or M'Baye yet. I fancy Kotelnik unless ****** has paid him to take a dive :-)

Funny how all the talk of Khan wanting to avenge his only defeat to Prescott seems to have evaporated!
Prescott annihilated Khan!

Or rather - "Let me fight the best, whoever the best may be at the time, when I'M ready".
He knows he's not prepared to take on the best fighters. Beating Kotelnik isn't going to change that either.

For me, Khans talented, BUT to be fair, in my opinion, the only true tough opponenet who he had to really think and fight against was Gairy St Claire who took Khan the distance, he boxed and used good ring craft over all in that fight, i think Kotelnik will provide a similar test, but the fact is, its a shame against Fagan and Barrera cause they both suffered early injuries in the fight, (Fagan with the broken leg and Barrera with the cut from the head clash), Khan would have been pressurized more by Fagan and he only would have stopped him in the later rounds if he had his leg, and against Barrera he would have had to stay switched on and settle for a points win, its just a shame in his last two fights that the opponents were injured and taught him nothing. If a determined Kotelnik shows up willing to keep his title, Khan will really have to use good ring craft here, not just speed, Kotelnik is tough enough to take what Khan has.

Thats why for real boxing fans this fight is the time for Khan to show us how far he has come and how much Dr.Roach has improved him really. I was making a point to one of mates the other day, you never really see Khan lose even a single round on points. How will Khan react if he is losing on points after a few rounds?.
Lots of questions should get answered in this next Khan fight.
