Prior to the deletion of historical posts there was a thread that summarised posters on the Aussie Forum, I thought this was really good so I thought I would reinstitute it
Name: Simon
Location: Perth by way of NSW, ACT, NSW and QLD
Occupation: Business Development Manager in the energy industry
Fight experience: Competitive martials arts bouts and going toe to toe with my brother when we were kids until he got to big and beat the crap out of me (very proud of him when he did that as I deserved every punch he landed).
Favourite Boxer(s): Mikkel Kessler and Wladimir Klitschko
Other interests: Everything is ancient history now given my focus on work, in the past I would go diving 3-4 times a week but the passion went and as did the lack of fear
If anyone else wants to use my headings or add their own and put up a post in this thread about themselves it might be a good thing

Favourite Boxer(s): Now... Miguel Cotto, Manny Pacquiao, Skinny Hussein, Shane Mosley and Mundine Alltime..Duran, Mike McCallum, Tommy Hearns.
Other interests: Mildly into cars, love going to summernats. Like my league, football, rugby and of course boxing. I like foreign and current affairs.

Name: Shane
Location: Redfern, Sydders - Originally from Newcastle - moved to London for 3 years (best time of my life)
Occupation: Event Manager
Fight experience: Not a great deal. Did kyokushin kaikan from about 6 - 17yrs then not much after that. The odd informal sparring etc. My dad is a black belt in it so most of what I know about marial arts/boxing comes from that. I think boxing is the ultimate sport!
Fave boxers: Too many to list... Though i've been a fan for a long time of boxing in general, Tszyu got me passionate about it... he trained near my school in his early pro career and we used to run with him etc. Watching him dominate was awesome. Currently, I like Israel Vasquez... everyone knows i'm on a Mundine fan by now surely.
Other interests: Film, live music & festivals (the planning side as well as the attending), gaming (BF2!), books & travel...
Love big nights out... will never say no if it means a shit load of fun. Hang out with pretty crazy people, but all good ones that will get along with anyone. Am probably the most easy going person you'll ever meet... so i'm told.

Name: Danny
Location: Hurstville, Sydney
Occupation: Right now just working past time, i finished my i.t. diploma about 2 months ago but have been pretty much partying alot of that time away so stopping the partying to find a full time job
fav boxer: Miguel Cotto, R. Torres, (there fight was awesome) and the klitshcko bro's (thats who id love to box like.)
Fight experience: apart from a couple of spars, yes i want to fight, so ive just started sparring, i think ill go pretty good if i worked on my defence abit more for a big guy ive got quick hand speed and can hit pretty hard, but everyone should know you dont necessarily need to be the hardest puncher to knock people out timing and placement is everything i think, so trying to learn that aspect
other interests: mmmm if i didnt want to fight if i took footy seriously and trained for it i could prob play in some semi prof comp, would take a couple of years, but im a mad dragons supporter!!!
and another interests girls/ladies!!!!
Big Nights: the problem with me is ill train so hard for a long time then ill decide to go out and ill love it soo much that ill continue on for a couple more days, therefore putting back on the weight and also back out of shape.
fav drink: mmmm southern red bull, or a woodstock slurpie lol

while i wish the boys the best of luck, got to stick with the aussies here(even though realistically they shouldnt be in the final but aussie pride should see them play heaps better) NZ are big favourites for the cup, its going to be a better world cup then i expected i reckon some tough matches.... when exactly does the world cup start? i saw on the news australia had 10,000 people turn up to there training that is insane.....

Most NZ teams I usually barrack against as is precedure with the aussie-kiwi love hate relationship.
But I just love seeing the All Blacks in full flight, they are a joy to watch. I hope they win it, I dont want any northern hemisphere team taking Bill again.
NZ had a world cup voodoo though, they seem to never produce the results they are capable of at the world cup.

Not interest in World Cup as the Rugby League semi's are hotting up at the moment.......
BTW.... Why don't the RWC just seed the top 8 sides and play. Much easier then seeing All Blacks beat Portugal by 150pts :patsch

Rugby is attempting to rival Soccer as a world game, no way they get close but I think they are realistic, If 2015 world cup is in Japan it will help the profile of the game immensely in Asia.

Get serious...........Rugby doesn't get close to soccer in Asia and never will.....BTW At least in Soccer the team ranked over 100 in the world (which Australia has been in the last couple of decades) can compete with the top sides to a degree...............In Rugby anything ranked above 10 in the world gets whacked by 50-100pts by the top 4 sides..... Now that can't be good for the game.

What did I say?? "No way they get close"
Its not comparable to soccer because 1 side can dominate another and barely win in soccer, and that is rarely the case in Rugby.
Excluding nations wont build the game either, all its takes is a bad peformance from a top team and the ball to bounce the right way for a 2 tier side and it could revive the sport in any of the minnow nations.
China and India are growing rapidly, their economic conditions are improving, so therefore less people will be malnourished and therefore more physically big people in the generations to come.
Thats a 2 billion person market that Soccer has barely been able to tap, Rugby should have a go at least.

Yeah i have done one in my sunroom/weights room for the weight programs with heaps of boxing pics iv printed off the net, looks cool and is good motivation.
:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl FAT?? na never me mate, im natually pretty skinny, if i didnt do some weights and try and eat lots like i do id probaly only weight about 65kg.
thats my mates 4x4, he is a pretty good builder and thought he would make his own snorkel for his 4x4 out of plumbing pvc pieces and a shit load of silicon.....as you can see it didnt work and flooded the engine and car inside. We got it goin but it soon died and had to be rebuilt.

Its all good mate. I didn't actually think you were fat just taking the piss. Your mate must have some money to just throw his car in the river, with little regard of the consequences. Not the best decision he has ever made i take it.

Yeah he does, has his own business. and does really well, maily due to builders being in high demand, he can charge like $70-120 per hour.
He has two other 4x4 (both range rovers), the blue one in the pic is his work car and he knows he fucked up taking in that river :rofl :rofl
Hows your training goin anyway MSTR? Still doin the weights? Are you putting any mass on? Or you train or other goals?

Training is going really good. Smashing out the weights. I pushed out 6 reps on 100Kg (bench) which I was pretty happy with. My weight is 76Kg at the moment, and my body fat would be pretty low IMO (maybe7-8%). I have lost weight in my legs though since I stopped boxing, and have been too focused on my upper body in the past 10 months. Those pics I posted in the lounge were pretty old (like over 1 year), and I think (hope) I have put on some size since then, but lost it in the legs which is why my body weight hasn't changed too much I think. I have just found a really good MMA gym so I am looking to start there in 2 weeks as soon as I have the money to join. 6 days a week training and I will be swapping between weights and running in the morning. I can't wait I miss training and especially sparring regularly. A couple of my mates are going to be doing the kickboxing and wrestling sides with me as well which means some sparring footage down the track!
BTW notice the Sticky thread guys... No need to thank me... Scar was more then Happy. Should make things easier.

Pretty interesting. What level do you play league at? Do you guys do a fair bit of boxing training off season to keep the fitness up?
I used to play for Penrith from Harold mathews to Jersey Flegg.I played in the u.k lastyear in the national league 1 but due to my missus getting homesick decided to come home.Im playing Agrade in penrith comp at moment for pretty good cash but will be playing jim beam cup next season for either wenty or mounties, still weighing up my options.
Yeah we do heaps of boxing at training.Good way to keep fit without having to run all the time.I have to manage a groin injury so boxing is good way of staying fit.
I though about taking boxing seriously but rugby league is my first love.
My trainers had me fighting at 74kgs but wanted me to get to 71kgs which was real hard on my body seeing im naturally 85kgs.

Cutting the weight would be pretty tough. You must have lost a fair bit of muscle when you were boxing regularly.

Mate you started a good thread but when Dan Carter jumped on things went downhill.
Dan Carter=Poor mans Joey johns..
Dont get me wrong he is a good player but dont really care much for
YAWNION...
Let me make a prediction.
Worldcup final score..
New zealand 37(1try,1con,10penalties)
Defeat
South Africa 21(7penalties)
Where are the tries in this bloody sport??Tim Sheehans might not agree with you about Dan, He was asked a question in Rugby League mag who is the best player in the game at the moment (back in 2003) and he said Dan Carter :deal Reporter stated a player from another code? and Sheehans said yep.
Dan Carter is all class. A All Black before 20yrs of age and has about 12 yrs left in him. When his career is finished he will out do everything Mr Johns has done. A poor mans Johns is an actual compliment because it's admitting he better than everyone else in league.
OR did you mean poor mans Johns as in he takes lower case Drugs? :hi:

Poor mans Johns? ha that is quite an honour to have my name associated with his. When i was younger i use to love watching the league greats like Johns, Lockyer and Daley and how they played. They looked like they had so much time on their hands when they had the ball.
Zinedine Zidane met us today and challenged me to a goal converting comp. It was an absolute amazing seeing him juggle a footy, the man has some skills.
Must go as we are gathering together to watch the first match between France and Argentina. We will be following France closely as they are one of the teams we must be totally prepared for.
Teke I will have to get back to you later about the collectables and if we win the cup I will have to think about giving up my jersey to you :lol: (cool little pics) Sorry cant send those pm things I have no idea why

Cutting the weight would be pretty tough. You must have lost a fair bit of muscle when you were boxing regularly.
Mate It was very hard on me,as i was working as a storeman aswell as training in the arvo for 2-3 hours..
My diet to get me down in weight but keep me healthy was.
Breakfast=Porridge,glass of juice.
Snack= handful of cashews and piece of fruit.
Lunch=Large can of tuna/salmon and boiled brown rice(less carbs as white)
Snack=some lite natural yoghurt with some muesli
Dinner=Grilled fish(1piece) with steamed veggies or grilled chicken and salad.
dessert=kids size fat free mouse.
Stuck to that diet for the whole 9months i boxed actively for.EXCEPT AFTER WINNING FIRST BOUT.
It nearly killed me at times as i felt so weak from sparring and running kms etc..
After my first fight i went out to panthers leagues club to celebrate(only time broke diet)and nearly everyone who seen me who hadnt for some time though i was a junkie or atleast on drugs hard as i went from a 85plus kg footy build to low 70s rake..
The 9mnths i took boxing serious gave me the real insight to what fighters go through, and shit its the toughest sport..FULLSTOP..
See how footy pans out, i may return back to fight.Im only 21 so who knows.

Definitely agree that it is probably the toughest sport both physically and mentally you can do. That diet must have been absolute hell considering the strain you were putting your body through. Training day in day out at that intensity is the hardest thing about boxing IMO.

So did you still have much strength as compared to before when you ate whatever?

So did you still have much strength as compared to before when you ate whatever?
The food wasnt a problem as it was a proper calorie controlled diet.I was eating foods that we all SHOULD be eating.lol.
I felt great ,not lethargic and sluggish like after you eat maccas, kfc etc.
The whole getting my weight down and keeping whilst staying healthy was the main problem. When you are a athletic 85kgs than you strip down to 74 to fight was crazy..I striped pretty much 11kgs of muscle.
Towards the end of my short amateur days i could hold my weight at 77-78kgs than strip it before the bout..
I can kind of understand why boxers sometimes struggle to produce great performances.People sometimes forget how hard MOST boxers train to make weight etc and then on fight night they have to be 110% on their game..Its honestly a huge mental struggle.
You have to make yourself HATE your opponent and want nothing more than to break them in half, eventhough in most cases you have nothing against them..It like you win by running through some1 or scoring a goal.
Boxing was one physical and emotional rollercoaster during my 9mnths 5fight stint.Great experience though..
My trainers were pretty gutted i didnt keep fighting as they believed i could of been a state champ atleast..
Maybe a comeback if footy doesnt pan out for me...

Sorry MSTR, i missed this post :good
Smashing.....i tell you what, you must have given me this word, everything me and my mates do now , we smash, i cant stop saying it!!! Smash cones , smash weights, smash chicks, smash the pads.
Mate your bench is fuckin great!!! way more than i do, im doin supersets for my chest atm, 8 reps of incline bench & 8 reps flat bench, give me a huge pump. I could only bench say 80kg for 6 reps so your pretty strong mate.
Dont forget your legs mate, you know they are very important, so do them!! Doin squats are hard, but the feelin is great if you get into it. I also do stiffleg deadlifts for my hams, you should try them, gives you a real good stretch, making you both strong and flexible.
Do they teach BJJ and Muay Thai? Tell me everything when you find out mate:good
Everything else sounds good MSTR, make sure you tell me how the training goes!! And i wanna see pics of bruises!!!! or your not training hard enough!!

Bench press is going well, but only because I wanted to be able to press 100, so I was doing around 15 sets per week on it. I have now switched to freeweights, and am looking at changing my routine up a bit. Definitely doing legs now as well. My legs used to be solid when I was boxing, and now they have lost SO much weight its not funny. I can't believe it took me so long to notice. I kept wondering why I was getting bigger but not putting on any weight. The MMA gym trains 3 days BJJ, 1 day wrestling and 2 days Muai Thai. I havn't started yet though because I have been flat broke, paying off a heap of fines. I need to get my damn tax done, clear up some debts and then I will be good to go. I want to fight, so I am planning on training seriously. It will take me a while though before I am REALLY comfotable with the ground game.

They are evil. Just sucks that I work for one! Yeah MMA fight. They do have amatuers though, so I basically would like to just do a fair few amatuer fights first. Not really be too concerned with winning or losing, but just on getting some experience. Depending on how confident I am and how well I can manage to pick up the ground game I may or may not have some actual pro fights. All speculation at this point though. I am still reasonably young though in terms of MMA, so i think it isn't outside the realm of possiblity.

How does amature differ to pro MMA?
How does amature differ to pro MMA?
Shin guards and maybe slightly bigger gloves from memory... Just the fact that you are fighting other less experienced people also is a big factor. The last thing I need is to jump in there with someone who has 6 years of BJJ behind them. Pretty pointless.

Random post ok.
I was driving home from work the other day, sitting at a intersection waiting to turn and a big crash into my car happens from behind, im a little high at the time so it spun me out!! i look left and see a motobike rider on the deck holding his chest!! SO before i jump out i turn my blinker on :yep so then i jump out and see if he is ok, he said " yeah i just fucked up, and im winded "
so i pick up his bike up and help him stand up, i say mate i had my blinker on, and he said thats ok, it wasnt your fault. he said he just didnt see me , had to deck the bike and smashed his chest into my spare tyre thats mounted on the back of my 4x4!!! the dude bounced like 5 metre from my car through the air onto a bank next to the road.
anyway, he gets back on his bike, so i shake his hand and say, catch you next time.....man i didnt know what to say :thumbsup

I got another one :good
Ok, its sat arvo (just gone), im home, so i start running the sink to do the dishes, and i have a old house so its slow running the hot water, and i always do some other jobs and flood the sink, but this time i forget about the hot water running and go to the shops to buy the Ring and check my tats ticket.
I win!!! Just $100 but im happy so i think i should go do the grocery shopping.
45min later i get home to my front door (glass) totally fogged up!! but i still have forgot about the sink and i think its a fire!! so i burst in to see hot water fuckin everywhere!!! All the windows in the house fogged over and 2cm of water in my kitchen and pantry, my draws are all full of water and its got to the carpet and thankfully it seaps throught the floor boards to fall under the house!!!
Totally pissed me off!!!!
My lesson learnt was ......Just stand and wait untill the sink fills then go do other jobs :good
How much damage did that do Marcus?

My apartment is built in 2002. Its all in good nic luckily. All the furnishings are modern and stainless steele. The carpet isn't in the greatest shape though, so we are thinking about tearing it up and putting down polished timber floorboards probably in a mahoganey type colour. Its lucky because I am definitely NO handyman. My old man was a carpenter who built our whole house, yet I am a spastic when it comes to anything hands on like that. I want to post pics I just don't have a digital. My ex has it at the moment. As for your pics, it looks amazing. Everything is sooo green, reminds me of NZ. Here everything is dried out for the most part from the drought.
Back to the subject of tits though, this hot chick let me and my mate motorboat her on the weekend!!! We were on the dancefloor, and she had her boobs done and was hot as fuck. We were all having a look so she told my mate to stick his head in.. After he did she looked at me and asked me if I wanted a turn, so I dove in head first, smashed her boobs everywhere and had a good feel. It was awesome. Random as f*ck. We were totally blind when it happend to so we were carrying on about it for ages.

Here everything is dried out for the most part from the drought.
sounds nice mate, have you thought about polished concrete, looks great and you can have heaps of cool colours and effects, also very long lasting and easy to clean.
ha ha thats funny, my dad was a carpenter also and im fuckin hopeless, good at wreaking stuff but not puttin it back together.
That you Marcus?
No he decided to take a close up photo of some random guy and post it up...
i went pig shooting over the APEC long weekend so i might post some photos of me with my beloved Sako .270 tearing apart the Scone country side (small town in NSW)
Sounds good. How big are the guns you use? Do you guys drive around or just trek through the bush? SOme of those pigs can be big fuckers. I remember my mates used to go roo hunting, so of course trying to be a tough c*nt I said I would kill it with a knife. Anyway, when I saw this massive full grown roo running 60kph at me I dead set shat myself. I sort of pocked the knife out from about 3 metres away, to sort of make it look like I was trying. My mates were taking the piss out of me for days.

Haven't thought about it actually. Sounds interesting though/ How expensive would that be you reckon? I might have to check it out. I would love to get something reallyfunky/different! BTW when you said pics I was thinking we would get a chance to see you teeing up some tassie sluts! Whats happening? What are the girls like down there?

No, it not that $$$$$. you would have to find a local guy who does it, it quite a new technique to seal floors, iv seen them done like water and also a night sky with stars. you can have like a black base with a pearl speckle or whatever you can think of, maybe a water look would suit your house, and sandy colour walls, for a beach look.
A lady i work with got her bathroom done, 5x3m, cost about $2000 but it needed some leveling. thats just a guide ok.
yeah i guess i could show you my chick, but i dont know, kinda opens me up for some personal insults. Ill think about it.
Girls down here are the same, but fatter!!!
ill try and post some pics of girls i hang with soon.

i have a .270 and a .30-06.... almost overkill but when its pigs i like to make sure they are dead with the first shot; they get very very angry when they are injured
we usually go spotlighting in the land cruiser ute; 3 of us - 2 with rifles and one with the spotty. THis trip i nailed a big sow that was about 95kg or so - we went to check it out and next thing you know the boar comes running out from this little gully and i nearly shit my pants! but it was running away from us so i was able to pop it twice in the back with the .30-06

Went over for hockey twice. I was still in highschool so didn't get up to much. Went luging (go carting with no brakes) down the mountains which was unreal. Zorbing (getting thrown down a hill in a giant plastic ball half full of water) which was pretty interesing. Tried out motorised skateboards, and played a heap of mini golf. I had a blast. I really enjoyed it, and the people there were really friendly.

Those boars would do some damage if they hit you. Whats the recoil on the guns like? Must be pretty powerful to kill them in one hit.

you get used to it but for someone who has never fired a gun it would be pretty daunting - i mean both those rifles can take down deer, water buffalo (only just), scrub bulls are some medium sized african game. The good thing about using them against a pig is that you will pretty much annihilate it no matter where the bullet hits (middle of the torso is perfect)
the .270 looks like this and the .30-06 is a little bigger

Fight experience: Did 2 years of hybrid wing chun, that taught BJJ and Muai Thai. Gradings were bare knuckle sparring, each round against new partners. Full contact, so pretty much like amatuer fights. Then did a couple years of boxing. I had trouble getting good sparring together, as I lived 40 minutes from the gym, and being white collar, finished later then everyone else. I could never get the consistent sparring that I needed to fight, so eventually I quit. Still, i got to spar some top amatuers and really get a feel for how hard the sport is. I am currently looking to train MMA as soon as I can get some cash together. I want/plan on fighting in the future, and I think MMA will be more suitable time wise for me, which will make a MASSIVE difference. Have trained Maui Thai for a brief period also.
Favourite Boxer(s): This guy from Peurto Rico... Whats his name:think... Miguel Cotto :happy:happy:happy. Apart from that I like Juan Diaz, Manny Pac, Mikkel Kessler, Joe Calzaghe and Paul Williams
Other interests: This one is fairly big. Love House music and clubbing. Love dance. Because electro house is a fairly new genre, it doesn't have a definitive style of dance. So basically I studied pop and lock, melbourne shuffle, top rock, slides and glides and adapted it to fit the beats of electro house music. I was going out clubbing like 4 times a week at one stage so I had plenty of time to practice.
I love movies and fashion also... most of the arts really. Love my contact sports most of all. Other sports seem so meaningless now in comparison. My preference being boxing though, then MMA and then Maui Thai.
I pretty much played every sport under the sun growing up, with pretty good success. Played internationally for field hockey on a couple of occasions. Represented my state a couple of times as well, and played at the top level.
I love using ESB, because the internet is one of the best places to both give and recieve an honest opinion. I love the fact that you get to interact with people you otherwise never would, and get an international perspective on a range of events.
As far as boxing goes got into it after doing martial arts. Sparred one of the posters here and got my arse handed to me:oops:... Realised I was wasting my time, and decided to do something more realistic. Doing martial arts was enough to bash my mates around in sparring based on aggression alone, but against someone who was trained it wasn't so much fun. Started watching footage of all the best modern guys, and after seeing Roy Jones JR in action for the first time I was hooked.
Its a shame its not bigger in Australia, because I think if the general public were further educated about the science of the sport, they would embrace like we do most other sports.

As people would know gambling is an interest of mine. It is about the most cerebral thing I have ever done. I love the process of constructing alternate scenarios of future bases on logic and impassive analysis. I am batting with a 160 IQ so I enjoy putting it to the test and in a manner that has consequence if I don't execute the process with appropriate diligence. Betting is a great test of ones psychological disposition and analytical capacity. Only very rare people can make money out of gambling.
I have made money from gambling and lost money. Over the past month I have lost $35k, two events constitute a fair share of this, betting a 1-39 winning margin on Sydney vs Brisbane and then the same bet type for Collingwood vs West Coast Eagle - both games were draws meaning that these bets lost. The probability of two consecutive draws is 0.04 per cent. That is gambling, it not emotional its just probabilities and expected return analysis. Betting is about choosing the path that delivers best value relative to the underlying probability as opposed to hoping a long shot will come off or a certainty will prevail.

It is interesting. I would love to start having the odd bett on the boxing once I get some more money behind me. 35K:yikes... Mine would probably be like $50. I take it you have had some pretty decent wins then also.
You hit the casino up much? Educated gambling for the most part, which I don't mind, provided I keep the betting small. I hate lotto, pokies or anything that relies solely on random luck though.
Okay guys... now that those boring photos that I had already posted anyway are done and gone... PREPARE FOR THE SLUTS:D
As soon as I buy my new digital I am going to go fucking nuts. Will take it clubbing with me and get a shitload of pics and load them up. See what you think.

Gambling is just another form of investment that resides on what is called the investment efficiciency locus (which is a curve that defines the relationship of the risk and return attributable to different investment instruments such as bonds, property, equity/shares, basically anything and everything where that asset can yield a return but where that return can vary to different degrees embodying a different risk profile ie gambling is high risk high return.
The reason I started with that description is an investor must first define their own risk tolerance and in most instances it is best to develop a diverse portfolio of risk exposures in different asset classes ie gambling can be a very sound component of that portfolio. Simply put an individual must ask themselve why they are pursuing a high risk high return investment strategy - is it balancing other elements of their investment portfolio, natural interest in the medium/sport which is the subject of the betting, kudos when success (ie bragging rights), a desire to take risk for its own (adrenalin fuelled sake) etc etc. Once that process has yielded a decision then one must ascertain what objectives are the be met ie what is the target rate of return and the goals. Ultimately one must decide what comparative advantage one has to be successful - how can one have a better understanding and measurement of the probability of events than the market (ie the book maker) does. I have been approached by bookmakers in this regard to act as a consultant as they appreciate I have that capacity. Unless you understand the market better than the market itself you can not win over the longer term.
If you want to gamble then be meticulous, anally so. Do fastidious research and always ask the simplest of questions "What are the factors that will result in me being wrong". In gambling it is the games or events you choose not to gamble on that will have a greater influence on your success than those events that yu do actually gamble on. I always recommend keeping notes as to the reasoning of making a bet and then revising those notes after the event with a retrospective analysis. Always record the amounts your bet, the odds, the outcome and the reason/how that outcome resulted and compare it to what your thought before the event. This all take time but you otherwise you a viewing the odds against the prospect of successful gambling. Lastly, be philosophical when you lose because that will help you learn from the experience to improve your performance for the future.

No its all good. I learned a lot from it actually, and will hopefully be more careful next time around. I used to be VERY shallow in what I looked for in a chick, and it ended up coming back to haunt me. Next time around going to make sure I really take my time before I jump into anything.

Basically to embed, you use the Youtube Icon in the ESB post reply screen. In between the 2 you tube tags, you need to post the last big of the Youtube URL. For instance, if the video was [Only registered and activated users can see links] you would only copy the jhginobn12... Basically do not copy anything before the = sign in the address bar. Paste it between the two brackets and it should work straight away from there. As for the races, just the locals last year. Had a tent and got pretty messy. Ended up being a massive night as well.

hahaha... its a secret. I was only 17 at the time, and was giving away about 15kg, and had never boxed, so its not really that relevant IMO. IpswichExpress. To be honest he took it pretty easy on me. He probably could have knocked me out if he wanted to. I used to fight my mates, and just unload about 100 punches into them with full blow aggression. They would always just turtle shell and I would f*ck them up. Against a guy who actually boxed, it did nothing, and I ate about 150 jabs. He has a very good jab too, and I remember I had a good 3 day headache, because I kept trying to walk through him. I have learnt a lot since then though :) Still, it was what got me into boxing. I didn't realise just how effective it was before that.

No, i love house music, but I kind of made my own form of dance, based on the melbourne shuffle, slides, glides, pop and lock, top rock ect. I adapted all the moves to fit electro house beats though. I studied all forms of contemporary dance and then adapted the techniques that I liked to fit the music. Basically, I have an obsessive personality, and when I start something, I have to be the best(ego problem). I saw this guy one time at a club who was an awesome dancer, and I really wanted to be able to do it, so I just started practicising heaps and heaps. Sounds kind of gay, but because I go clubbing all the time its get put to good use.

hahaha... its a secret.
 My mate used to unload on me like that, he thought he knew it all and didnt want to learn how to spar with respect so i elbowed him right in the mouth!! clean took out one of his front teeth and ended up on his tongue. he tried to put it back in but now its all black and fucked lookin, he has to keep bleachin it now
thats fine gettin beaten mate, the old sayin goes, no matter how tough you think you are, there is always someone tougher :good

CHeck out the link to this thread. These are just various dances though, not necessarily what I would dance like. Most of what I use is Melbourne shuffle and top rock and house dance. So if you watch those videos it will give you and idea, but obviously to house beats which is not as fast as techno (melbourne shuffle), but fster then US house and toprock.--- [Only registered and activated users can see links]

Sounds kind of gay, but because I go clubbing all the time its get put to good use.
thats still hard to understand, but id like to hear some more music like it so post it sometime ok.

I have posted clips of house music. Thats what I posted up the other day mate. Watch the dance videos for melbourne shuffle, top rock and house and then listen to the music videos I posted up. You will get the picture of what the dance might look like. House music is really funky dance music. Not as hard as techno or trance, more vocals, but still with dirty baselines, which makes it different to 90's electronica like daft punk and chemical brothers ect. (although I stil like that). The dance and the fashion is really funky also, which is what is massive at the clubs I go to in Brisbane. Heaps of designer labels, house music like I showed you and dance as well like in some of the videos that I just posted. The house music what I love. The genre itself is really broad. I prefer really grungy, funkier house then what I put up, but there is too much to show, so I just put up a couple vids I thought you may have heard.

I can dance all night without drugs. I don't need the stuff anymore. I can have a great night without it. When I started going out mid week all the time i just learned to have a good time without it. I still get on it sometimes I won't lie, but i certainly don't need it to go out. The only reason I don't hit the piss more is because you can't dance with a gut full of grog.
The thing is with GPO is that it IS a collection of the coolest people in Brisbane. Its just a massive social ladder. The hottest chicks in QLD no doubt. If you come up to Brisbane I will show you and you won't believe it. its all about what you wear and who you are. If your 'cool" ( a DJ, or door guy, or minor celebrity) then chicks will just throw themselves at you. No BS. I am mates with the fashion guys (who decide whether people are cool enough to get in or not) and they just get sex on demand with the hottest chicks ever. My best mate is a big dealer and its the same for him too. Its crazy. The drugs that go through the place is ridiculous. Everyone is pretentious as all fuck though. Basically, you don't get in unless you look the part. And if you can't dance, or can't dress, or just don't know the right people then a lot of people won't give you the time of day. It sounds like bull shit I know, but thats just what its like. Once your a part of the club scene and people know you, its the best place on earth, no joke. I realise this comes across extremely arrogant , but thats the way it is there.

To explain the above post, there are two levels, upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs being the nightclub, where you need to dress up to get in. If anyone is ever in Brisi and wants a tour would be happy to give one. Just PM me. It is good. I think Teke has been, but he didn't rate it from memory, although not sure if he went upstairs or how long ago. It was totally revamped recently. its heaps of fun, and would be interesting to see to say the least, but its definitely a younger crowd. usually 18-24 year olds there.

Yeah, did fairly well though, that said we've always given Argentina a good game even in the bad old days. Womens team on the other hand really needs to improve in several areas; defence, not wandering off with the fairies at crucial points in the game, less amateurish fuckups. On the upside there were points in the game they were stringing good balls together moving forward, even if their finishing (or somebody just making a dogs breakfast of things after a decent buildup) left something to be desired.

I've been watching a few of our Olympic qualifiers recently, they look alright. Williams is a handy striker, he'll be well in the picture for the senior team come 2010. Spiranovic is promising, though he hasn't played the last few games. I saw him come on and play in the German Cup final, he got yellow carded for diving in the box
We play Iraq I think in November, the winner will go through to the Olympics. Should be interesting as Iraq have been good at this level for a little while now.

Hello Sapphire, I finished reading a tent boxing book not long ago by a aussie guy who lives in Amsterdam...it was a fantastic read. It sounds like a different life style for show people. Moree was mentioned alot, Les Darcy, Tony Mundine, and many more. Is there many aboriginals fighting in the tents these days?
Sapphire
09-23-2007, 10:03 PM
You usually have about two fights a night but when you go somewhere like the Mt Isa Rodeo which goes for 5 days you end up having a few fights. I would love to turn pro but I don't think I'm ready yet there is still alot I need to learn, there are a few Aboriginal kids in the tent 1 is Bronco Johnson's grandson and the other is currently at the AIS learning his trade so where not all mugs like alot of people think. And as for that book "Tent Boxer" by Wayne McLennon I have read it and wouldn't wipe my arse with it! He puts shit on the Cowboy, Fred Brophy and the rest of our troupe with bullshit story's, then hides away so nobody can find him. I would love to meet the bloke and tell him what I thought of him. And the Cowboy's Trying to Hunt him down aswell.

Sapphire, saw a show on SBS a few years ago about a bloke running a troupe. Was made by the French, cant remember the main guy but he really seemed a dick, fighting two guys at once and mugging for the camera, picking up some young blokes to fight for him for not much more than a meal and generally philosophising about how he couldn't be beaten. Had a young wife and kid. Could this be the same bloke your talking about?

I'm sure if Cowboy had the contacts he could find him, surely it can't be that hard :-D

It could be the same bloke but I doubt it the way your describing him... The Cowboy is Brother to Aust Heavyweight Champ Col Wilson they had a Exibition fight a few years ago... Not much exibition about it they didn't hold back and the Cowboy 75kg really gave it to his 116kg brother..... and the crap about fighting for a meal we make what most people make a week... In one night.

Cheers mate, though the bit about fighting for the meal is how they potrayed it in the doco, he basically rocked up to some settlement and that was his offer...though about halfway through I could see he was playing it up for the film crew, so a little a bit of exaggeration for 'the meal' segment could be explained there. Will check out your youtube link when I have time, always wanted to see a tent show since I was a kid.

Everybody who talks to me after a show always says how much they enjoyed it and always come back to the next show. We all have great jobs away from the boxing tent, we just fight in the tent beacuse we enjoy it, and enjoy the people.

Only in QLD not allowed to fight in any other state. the 2 main places we fight every year are Mt Isa Rodeo and the Birdsville races we pop up to a few other places. I've had a few really hard fights but I've never lost, but there is the odd fight that I think I've done enough to win without killing the bloke and Fred will call it a draw just to keep the crowed happy, I still call it a win but
