Late 80;s

when Benn was in America raking up a string of wins

Returned to UK in 1990 - to be stopped by Chris Eubank in their famous 1st fight

Duran would have bee late 30s maybe even early 40's. I think the spar took place when Duran came over to do that after dinner speaking tour (late 80s/ early 90s IIRC).

Yes it seems the spar took place in London

But Benn was over in the states in the late 80's beating Doug De Witt and Iran Barkely , etc

I don't think Benn relocated to the USA Flint, he just went over there for a few fights.

duran is taking the piss in this session, hes only operating at about 65% when he was in there

seems like hes helping benn, still you can tell benn is a serious man

I can remember seeing Duran sparring with Rocky Balboa in Rocky II.

This was streight after duran beat barkley i think, that version of duran would have given benn many problems he would have likely destroyed most the middle weights 2day like that joker kelly pavlik

i was just thinkin that myself. at the end with duran its fucked up, he looks like a middle aged man who ud see in the pub but his footwork, head movement, coordination and bounce make it seem ridiculous. like one of those fake ads

This was May '88.

Benn moved to Miami for three years in '89.


GazOC desputes this and said Benn never relocated to USA.

However I agree with you - I read Benn's book - and I'm sure he lived in Miami for a while - had a house out there etc.

I think Duran was Half Pissed while Sparring with Benn that session.The 1st round He tried did Nigel, the 2nd He was told to calm down which He did.

I was at the event... In fact both Duran and Tim Witherspoon were in Britain and trained at the same place the same week.. Tim Sparred with Trevor Hughroy Curry and knocked the stuffing out of Trevors headgear literally as he prepared for a bout at the york hall against Mauricio Villeagas......... (Fat Mexican Import)

He lived in Los Angeles when he was WBC Champion, with training camp Tenerife

That was just from memory, hardly "disputing" anyone elses version and, unlike the guy who posted the clip, at least I got the country the spar took place in right...;)

At least get the quote right, I deliberately used the word "think" because I was going from memory.....:p;)

I still think the bigger error is yours, you posted up a clip and backed it up with wildly inaccurate background information, I was merely attempting to help you out and extracate you from the web of lies you found yourself in.;)
