I've really been enjoying this show. Shame they didn't have a boxer compete in it!

Anyway the boxing challenge was 1 minute hitting this wall pad which measured totally accumulative force so you could choose to do a lot of faster lighter punches or less punches but harder ones

I'd love to get hold of a device like this, is way cool

would be interesting to test some of our own boxers on a machine like that, someone like soliman would throw the most punches, and oganov would be the hardest puncher, with green id reckon being the pick of the bunch with workrate and power combined...

There are a number of ways of setting these up but I guess you really need to look at what you want to test.
What I'd like to see is how many good punches a fighter can throw within a set period, so we are setting up one that will measure number of impacts within a set period of time, but you must hit with a certain level of force for a punch to count.

Interesting Ray :think

As we know in boxing the judges score 3 ways .....volume/workrate....punches landed....and power punches

If this is for boxing it would need a combo of the above....yes?

I'd be interested to see how Darchinyan's power compared to some of the heavier fighters from this country.

What I am looking at is improving the physiology of the fighter, so being able to throw loads of punches with substantial force. It's then up to the boxing coaches to transfer that into how best to expose the opponent.
