Like speed, exceptional jumping ability seems to be something that for the most part, you either have or you don't. Is there a solid, results-proven regimen of training to increase vertical leap, as well as long jumping distance?

I suppose having powerful and flexible leg muscles for jumping. I remember seeing some basketball players training with these things that looked like giant rubber bands strapping them to the floor and them using those bands as resistance against jumping.

Also, watch the special features on The 300. They show Gerard Butler doing an exercise that seems like it would benefit you.

And of course, there's always plyometrics.

Pilates will increase your agility too.

look up plyometrics, sprints, olympic weight training or resistance band training.

Given that you're young and you want to expand your repertoire of training outside of Boxing, watch these Russian kids do their thing:

I wont suggest you try to backflip off heights, but the hopping and quick climbing up walls, spring up and bar swings will definitely quicken you. Much of it is plyometric, and dont think that the moves require much training either, it is much easier than it looks.
Agility is not only about size and speed, it is about building mental coordination and flexibility. In gymnasts, the rear lobe of the brain which is responsible for balance coordination is much more developed than the average person. A lot of that contributes to your ability to change direction quickly.

'Urban Ninja' is the secret to developing exceptional agility -in my case anyway.

keep doing it over and over...just like w/ jumping, if u keep jumping over and over and doing leg exercises u WILL be able to jump higher, no matter what nebody says...depends exactly what u mean on agility...but just keep practicing the movements repetitively and develop the muscles involved and u will be better

Every maneuver you see in that video is based on fast push, high jump, or multiple jump acceleration Sideways, Fowards and Backwards. Watch the guy run up the walls three steps in a shot. Jumping is only ONE facet of agility. If you think all that is bogus, then all the scientific programs in the world can't help you. You cant quantify and isolate a single exercise and expect to develop Complete Agility. Agility means the ability to move in all directions and change directions quickly.

You asked for a secret, and you got one. If you knew the answer you wanted to get, then why ask it. WTF

Try the simple bunny hops, squat down and hold your hands together behind your back then jump as high as you can for as far as you can land right back in that squatting position and hop forward again, and again and again...
